Of all the gyms in downtown Cleveland this isnt the worst, but there are some major problems. My advice would be to find another gym until they get their act together. It certainly is not worth the premium they are charging. My main complaints about the place is there is no wifi available for guests, it is freezing in the cardio section during the lunch rush because one of the owners insists on keeping the door propped open while she exercises, and most of the equipment seems to be cheap knockoffs of better brands. In this day and age and for $39.99 per month wifi should be available at every gym. With all the new technology out there it would be nice to be able to listen to internet radio while working out. I think my comment about the owner propping the door open during the winter is fairly self explanatory. It is the middle of winter in Cleveland, OH and if you are getting too warm while exercising then I would suggest a few things: 1) get a fan and move it towards you while doing cardio 2) lower the heat in the place or 3) workout first thing in the AM or last thing in the PM when no one is around. After all you are managing a gym, at least for now, use some common sense. I cant imagine working out in the cold is all that good for you. Lastly, to address my comment about the equipment. Dont get me wrong, it is all new stuff, but pretty bush league if you ask me. The dumbbells are giant and completely made of rubber making it very difficult to use. None of the machines in the place offer enough resistance. Believe me, I am no super hero and can do a full rack on most machines. Not to mention every machine can be increased/decreased in 20 lb increments and you can slide down an additional 7.5 lbs. Most every traditional machine I have used goes in increments of 5 or 10lbs. Again, I am no expert, but seems a little odd. There are also some cheap knockoffs of hammer strength scattered throughout that are similar to the machines. Pretty much no matter how much you put on the resistance doesnt change all that much. Lastly, there are some pretty blaring mistakes in regards to variety. There is only 1 smith machine, no pullup/dip stretch station, and no decline benches to do abs (this is just a short list of things missing). The only good thing I can say is it is clean. I had a 2 week trial membership and decided not to sign up. I urge you to do the same until improvements are made. Feel free to post any questions in response to my review.

Best Gym in Cleveland! I have been a member of Titans for nearly a year and am flabbergasted at the negative reviews. I think every single member of the staff is great, so maybe a couple people had some bad experiences, but I never have. As for GMOT, who complains about the equipment, Im not quit sure if this person has ever used real gym equipment or not. All of the equipment is top of the line, nothing is a knock-off. Im also not quite sure why this person complains about the size of the dumbbells, they are very proportional to the weight listed on each one. All the dumbbells have metal handles, the bell part of the weights are rubberized but this in no way affects its use. There is a decline bench in the basement that everyone does abs on, so clearly this person missed it. The gym doesnt offer wifi or imply wifi is included, Im not sure why someone needs wifi when working out, but that is just me. There are actually 4 places to do pullups, the assisted machine, both squat racks (yes they have 2 squat racks) have pullup bars, and the cable machine has two pullup bars in the middle. As for dips, use the assisted machine or the free standing dip stand, seriously did you even go downstairs to see any of this for yourself or did you only use the treadmills? My two cents...The gym has a full set of dumbbells up to 120+ pounds, 6/7 adjustable benches, military bench, and on and on and on. Everything is top notch quality (better than Ballys, Fitworks, and Raquet Club, and on par with Lifetime Fitness). Its also great that when using the treadmills there are 10/12 flat screen TVs you can watch and the staff is great about changing the channel. They have a heavy bag in the fitness room, etc...check it out and dont be fooled by the 3 poor reviews the past 4 days. Top 5 gym Ive ever been to, and Ive been to probably 35+ gyms around the world.

In January I signed up for a 2-year gym membership at Titan Gym in Mentor. Before signing, the conversation went like this: Me: I only want to sign up for a few months. I dont want to belong to a gym in the summertiime. Titan: You can suspend your membership over the summer months. (He volunteered this. I had never heard of such a thing.) Me: How does it work? Titan: Say you suspend it for 3 months. Then your expiration date gets moved back 3 months. Me: How do I do it? Titan: Just tell them at the front desk when you want to do it. The ability to suspend is the only reason I signed up. Now they wont to let me suspend the membership for the summer, saying "Its not in the contract." They led me to believe that its a normal part of belonging to the gym and then hid behind whats (not) written. All my attempts at peaceful resolution were met by hiding, avoiding, and more lying. It would cost me more to take them to Small Claims Court than what the damages are (thankfully, a fairly cheap membership), so my only recourse is the BBB and writing reviews online. Bottom line: they lied to my face just to get me to sign the contract.

Awesome Gym. The Titans staff is very helpful and friendly. The equipment is brand new, state of the art and never broken. Theres enough equipment to satisfy the morning and evening workout rush without feeling cramped. Its also by far the cleanest gym Ive ever worked out in (keep it up). Being open 24/7 is a big bonus with a busy work schedule. They offer a large variety of classes that are included in the membership costs. I havent yet had a chance to attend a class, but they are always full and everyone always seems very pleased. Ive never had a bad run-in with a single person in the gym, everyone that works out there on a daily basis is very nice and willing help out, this makes for a great relaxed atmosphere. The only complaint Ive ever heard was the lack of WiFi, but I heard they may be getting it soon. I think it worth mentioning that Im in the gym at least 4 days a week and Ive NEVER experienced anything that the negative comments portray. Titans is always glad to give away a two week trial to come judge for yourself.

To qualify my review, it seems as though I need to preface a few facts; (i) I am not a resident of the adjoining building, (ii) I do not have a free membership, nor a discounted rate, (iii) I have worked downtown for nearly a decade, and (iv) I have worked out at many other facilities downtown (including those listed in other people’s reviews). Without question, Titan’s Gym is far superior to all others. They have brand new equipment, a spacious weight room, more cardio machines than all other facilities combined, and the CLEANEST facility in Cleveland. The active manager is onsite far greater than the majority of the time, and to say otherwise is comical. If you are an avid weightlifter, cardio nut, class participant (kickboxing, yoga, etc…), or if you are just getting started, I would highly recommend this gym; especially relative to all others in the market. It will set a great standard that will make other gyms pathetic by comparison.
