I have never been to Greece, so I really cannot say how authentic it is, but I can tell you that I cannot imagine the food "in" Greece being any better than this!! King Gyros is Number One on my Top Ten "Step out of the Box" Casual Places to Eat in Columbus. When you get tired of the Burger Scene...this is where you need to come!! It is a bit more expensive than most fast food restaurant value menus, but it is WELL worth the price. The Gyros are always overloaded with hot, savory meat, no matter which size you get. At the counter, there is a display case containing Baklava...it is as delicious as it is beautiful! I highly recommend the Stuffed Grape Leaves, but the lemon sauce is more of an acquired taste and has a bit of a tangy bite to it...so I would recommend asking for the sauce on the side, if you are a first-timer. The building is rather small and seating can be a problem on a busy rainy/winter day, however, they do have concrete outdoor dining tables and it is very nice during the dry/warmer days. They also have Drive-Thru service and you can always park and eat. I just wish there were more of them!!

Consider for carry-out only since the 10 or so tables make for a cramped space and the carry-out traffic moves in and out amongst the tables and the general chaos of a busy place. As far as pick-up of orders, the joint is so busy that mistakes on phoned or even in-person orders are not uncommon, so check your grub before pulling away. As to the food itself, sadly, the Supreme Gyros is a bland thing although there is a lot of it for $7. The lamb chops are terrific, although emphasizing that you want them rare still gets you medium rare. The lamb shanks are large and done up very well -- the meat is moist, favorful and Id say only Barcelona beats them -- different cooking styles, of course, and Barcelona is an entirely different dining experience at a higher price level. Very good dolmados. As for the chaos, could be fun at times, as long as you are in the mood and know in acvance what you are in for.

WE HAVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR YEARS AND THE FOOD AND SERVICE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN EXCELLENT. Absolutely without a doubt the best Gyros I have had anyplace. they have a new menu item Greek fish that is too good. I have never had fish like this in any restaurant. This place gives service similar to fast food but the food is better than most expensive restaurants. I have had the mashed potatoes 2xs with the fish dinner and they are so so good. For think its 7.50 you would expect smaller portions but you get 2 big pieces of fish and your side . If you havent yet tried it do so ASAP if you are looking for a change to the same old blah food around. TYVM for the always great service also never have had anyone not friendly. dine in may be crowded but it is a small place and the food and service make up for anything small you can go through the DT and take it home and enjoy!!!!

THE BEST GYROS I HAVE EVER TASTED! (And Ive been to Greece, so thats saying something!) My husband and I go here at least once a month and my parents drive down from Cleveland just to eat here. My husband and I always share a #19 that comes with 2 King Gyros (lamb meat), fries and a drink. Its the perfect amount! My 3-year-old son devours his own gyro and always begs for more meat! The restaurant is beautifully painted to look like the Greek islands and the owner is so nice. The gyro meat is AMAZING and so flavorful. Definitely not the gross frozen mystery meat stuff. The sauce is super delicious too & the fries are amazing. We always joke that if we knew about King Gyros before we got married, we would have had them cater our wedding. Hahah but seriously, you must go now!

First time ever having a gyro and I gotta say, if thats how gyros are supposed to taste, consider me a fan! Huge portion of gyro meat wrapped in a soft pita flat bread. When I took my first bite, I had the Greek sauce running down my arm and almost licked it off haha. The meat was incredibly flavorful and so tender that my mouth was watering more with each bite. I could not stop biting into it until it was gone. It was that good. The staff was antentive and friendly as they greeted me then took my order. The owner was even there in the kitchen with the staff to make sure everything ran smoothly. That was a nice thing to see. I highly recommend this place to any fan of gyros. You can bet I will be back!

My husband and I split a supreme traditional gyro meal and got an extra order of fries. The gyro meat was really tasty, shaved nice and thin. Their taziki sauce was awesome! The servings are generous. They had bottled hot sauce as well as malt vinegar available. We noticed the cashier placed our empty drink cups rim-side-down on the counter with lids balanced on their upturned bottoms; theres a lot you can pick up from restaurant counters, so it stood out to us. My husband said the mens room door was sticky; the floors were a little sticky in general. The food was TERRIFIC though! Well definitely be back. Tip: Check Groupon before you visit! We forgot to and paid more than we had to.

I regularly get a Gyro and their Chicken Lemon Soup thats a really good soup their Gyro has a satisfying amount of lamb with good sauce I highly suggest you ask for banana peppers in you gyro it takes the flavor to a whole new level they have other good menu items too I have never not enjoyed my meal if you like french fries this is the place the fries are slightly flavored with this really tasty powder of spices and if you want more of it on your fries they have it at this condiments station so you can flavor them just how you want and the baklava is great the desserts are so good

I was born and raised on the east side, and have been coming to KG regularly since they first opened. Im not a foodie, nor do I claim to have a sophisticated palate, but I know what I like. And this place, I like! The menu offerings have expanded over the years, and so has the size of his kitchen. I love their gyros, but everything Ive had on the menu was delicious. Owner also appears to be a big community supporter - gotta love that. Favorites: The hummus, calamari, french fries and of course, the Big Fat Gyro. You can also buy the sauce by the pint or quart!

I was very put off by everyones attitude, Henceforth why they didnt get 5 stars. The way they looked, and treated me and my partner was rude and quite frankly not quality service. I would like to say though if you dont mind being rudely talked to and treated like you arent welcome or a guest the food is quite good. Im not at all unpleased with the food I was serviced at a timely manner, its the customer service that was quite unpleasant. The food was amazing but I was about to turn back around to the door when I was ignored while in the middle of Ordering.
