Sweet Carrot left me feeling like I had gotten "catfished". Online and in their official pictures, this place has all of the elements needed to become one of my wife and Is favorite spots in Columbus. The menu is interesting, yet simple. The restaurant itself is trendy, with a very cool atmosphere. The pictures posted on the Sweet Carrot website and in the Spring 2016 (614) Stock & Barrel magazine are scintillating. But...when I actually visited the restaurant, I felt very underwhelmed. I ordered the Brisket Corn Cake and my dish did not have half of the meat, slaw, salsa, and sauce shown in Sweet Carrots stock photographs. What I did get was tasty, but I just cant get over the tiny portion size. I kid you not: my dish probably wouldnt have qualified as a meal to most adults. Originally, I thought that my experience was just a fluke but the other reviews seem to suggest that this is probably how they roll. I think this restaurant has a lot of potential and would recommend trying it, but I would definitely urge new visitors to go to Sweet Carrot with a very small appetite.

Straight to the point: Delicious, not that expensive, very rich in flavor, HEAVY. I got shockingly full from it. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely recommend it and return. Longer: This was recommended to me by a friend and I decided to try it out for dinner when I was starving. The menu is really easy to understand. It revolves around a choice of protein (pulled pork, brisket, chicken meatballs, artichoke) and then you choose a sandwich, a salad, or a corn pancake thing (which is what I got and it was awesome). They just throw everything on there with homemade corn salsa, coleslaw, some bbq sauce and then you can get mac n cheese as well. I am a hungry kid and when I first got it I had my doubts that it would fill me up. Boy was I wrong. For the price I am very full and happy with my purchase. The staff was very friendly and explained everything very well to a newcomer such as myself. It was also very neat. The one bad thing is parking is a little confusing but it does not take away from the overall experience.

This place was recommended to me by a person I was volunteering with over the weekend. Cool little place. Got the brisket over mac n cheese and my wife got a salad and mac. Im a bbq and mac n cheese snob and Ill say the brisket was god but the mac was great. My wifes family owns a couple of restaurants and their specialty is mac n cheese and my wife also thought the mac was great. We got a piece of carrot cake afterward that was excellent. Good soda fountain with black cherry, a good root beer and orange cream flavor and others. They only had two high chairs so we had to hold my infant son but the owner apologized and Im sure theyll have more soon. Parking is a little tricky, probably need to park across the street during peak times. Im a big sweet tea fan and they only had unsweetened. I live about 20 mins away and Id drive there again to eat even though its out of my way. Id prob give it btwn a 4 and 4.5 if I could.

I was really disappointed by this place. The food was OK, not amazing, but not great. Whats more, they just pile everything together, so what I thought were sides turned out to be part of the sandwich. They also hid the bar in the back, so I picked out a mediocre beer from their cooler (thinking that was the only way to get one) before I realized they had a decent tap selection. They do counter ordering which is an added hassle, especially because they have staff to bring you out the food anyhow. Why not just do table ordering, especially if you have a bar at a different part of the establishment? Am I supposed to walk over and pay twice for a sandwich and a drink? The pricing was a little high for the mediocre quality and portions of the food. Last, while we were eating someone came to our table to ask us if we wanted to take a survey! NO! We want to eat! I will not be returning to this place.

First off the staff was great on my visit here. The only complaint would be the parking sucks (we parked across the street in another parking lot). I had the pulled pork on a corn cake loaded and every element of the dish tasted of something special (like there was true attention to detail and love). Then they have real sugar soda not the crap everyone else serves they have Boylan Sodas a more expensive better tasting soda, but I am a tea drinker and to my surprise and delight they offer stevia to sweeten your tea with a much better option the traditional offerings that everyone else has. I will be back and if you want something different from the same ole offerings that you can get any where else at an affordable price you need to head over and give this place a try as well :)

What an amazing place! Great customer service! Caring ownership/management here folks! The food is 5 star...the interior is 5 star...the area around the building, parking lot are 5 star! Very clean dining room and restrooms. I had the brisket as a sandwich loaded with mac n cheese! It was amazeballs! Tender brisket with an accent of bourbon (possibly in the sauce), awesome corn salsa, nice pickle on the side, tasty bun, great coleslaw, and excellent mac n cheese! Also, the tortilla chips with cheese are great. Homemade chips! With a lime! Their soda machine is Boylan Soda...had the black cherry! Its delicious! Free refills! Highly recommend that you visit! Also, they have a market with wine/beer and other items for the kitchen. Check it out!

We stopped in for the first time on Mothers Day, not quite sure what to expect. The decor and arrangement of the restaurant was cozy, with garage doors open to allow a nice breeze. Each of us ordered something slightly different. I ordered a sandwich with pulled pork and added a scoop of mac & cheese. I received corn cake (like a flat cornbread) as the base instead, but Im glad I did because it was delicious! My wife ordered and received a sandwich base with meatballs and was very happy with her order. We each had a piece of carrot cake for dessert. The icing was a bit rich for her, but I loved it! My only regret is ordering water instead of trying one of the teas. We will definitely be back sooner than later.

I had the brisket corncake and their carrot cake. My biggest issue was that the food portion doesnt adequately justify its price. I do however love the atmosphere and overall environment of this place. The interior of the restaurant is pretty modern and simple, lots of large windows, with ample seating for groups of different sizes - including a few large tables for bigger groups. I was impressed by the availability of a wide selection of local beers, on tap and bottled/canned (land grant, four string, elevator, rockmill, just to name a few). Its a great place to hang out, to get some drinks and a light (slightly overpriced) bite.
