Let me say that up until Wednesday evening my favorite restaurant was Detroit Seafood Market. Ive always had great food, great fun, and great service the two times Ive dined there in the past. The staff and especially our server did an excellent job, but the Assistant Manager, Owner, and Chef really shocked me by their lack of service, concern, and hospitality. It is not my intention to say negative things about this restaurant, or its leadership but Wednesday night, my voice went unheard. For hours, it went unheard. *the wrong order was brought to our table *After our entrees were served, our waiter disappeared *30/40 minutes later the assistant mgr came over and asked us something along the lines of "do you need anything because your server was pulled to work at another table???" *we never got condiments to go with our food, some of our entrees were cold/warm when they should have been hot. *20/30 minutes later, we still have the smelly remnants of seafood sitting on our table and no service....no deserts either...were still waiting... *I spoke with the assistant mgr who hadnt come back to check on us for quite some time..we still didnt have a server and we still needed deserts...he apologized and told me hed "fix" the bill *20 minutes later he came back with service charges and gratuity?!?! WE WAITED 20 more minutes for NOTHING to be Fixed...They never replaced our server and we STILL had NO DESERT AT THIS POINT...I didnt think we should have to pay a "SERVICE CHARGE". When we did not have a server for most of the evening. The asst mgr decided to tell me what he did do as opposed to listening and trying to be hospitable and helpful. His approach was very unprofessional to say the least. *At this point, I asked to speak to the owner... "oh, hes in a meeting",... "oh, he left for the evening"... "oh, hes over there somewhere" *Earlier when I went searching for the owner (all I had was his name, but I didnt know what he looked like) I actually bumped into him and asked if he was the mgr (I should have said owner) and he told me no. He wasnt lying, he was the OWNER but by this point, Im sure he knew who I was because he acknowledged it later on when we spoke again! THE WHOLE THING MADE NO SENSE AT ALL!!!! *Ill spare you the details. When I finally found the person I needed to talk to (the OWNER) I realized he was the same man I bumped into earlier. He was reclined, having a beverage and watching television. When I explained to him what was going on, he was more defensive than hospitable. Nevertheless, we came to an "agreement". I was still unsatisfied, so I decided to have my guest walk over to the PV lounge (where he was still sitting) since he wouldnt come to us, we went to him. I told him I wanted to introduce him to the young ladies I invited to his establishment that evening. In his defense, Im sure he had a rough night, but THERES ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE. We came to an even better agreement than what we had before, but still. *We were there from 7 til after 11....OVER 4 HOURS- and most of the time was spent waiting to get our bill adjusted. The experience was a nightmare! Ive never felt so disrespected and I have never been so poorly treated in my life!!! I appreciate the fact the Owner did finally adjust our bill, but It wasnt about the money at all. It was about the way we were treated. It was about the disrespect, the lack of service, concern and hospitality. They desperately need more staff when they are busy, more professionalism and a lot less ego.

the first restaurant that I have gone to in quite a while in which I can say I enjoyed the entire experience. From the ambiance, to the staff, and ultimately the food was all amazing. We had a groupon, which limited us to a smaller menu. Nevertheless, the food was amazing! I cant rave enough. Appetizer: scallops provencal: topped with a butter sauce with tomatoes, and made to perfection. Highly recommended Entrees: Chilean sea bass topped with crab with asparagus and jasmine rice. The Chilean sea bass was barbequed and it was simply amazing. The grilled flavor came out in the perfect amount, the white butter sauce it was topped with was simply delicious and balanced very well with the dish. The asparagus was good, and the jasmine rice was average, but honestly the sea bass made it all. Stuffed lobster with mixed vegetables and red skin potatoes. This is another dish that could easily be overdone or bland and it was anything but! it came as an entire lobster split in half and done to perfection! the mixed vegetables were deliciously sautéed with a hint of salt. The red skin potatoes were just red skin potatoes. dessert: Cheesecake with berry topping and whip cream. It was definitely not a frozen dessert. Everything on the plate complemented each other and was not heavy at all. chocolate mousse with berry topping, chocolate sauce, and whip cream: I love chocolate and this was amazing. It was a layer of chocolate, with mousse, on top of chocolate cake layer. When you bit into it you tasted different textures and I cant more about it as I will crave it! Overall experience was exceptional. I am a bit of a restaurant snob, and must say im super excited I got to try this restaurant. It is a gem!! Also, Mayor Bing walked past my table...with a man in a bright orange, knee length mink coat...that was pretty entertaining! speaking of entertainment I noticed there was a singer/guitar player. this would be a great place for a date or special occasion!

Expect upscale prices, but poor food quality, average atmosphere, and service that is friendly, but slow. Normally, after an experience like ours, Id offer the business a chance to make things right, but, as youll see later, there simply was not enough time. Hopefully, this review will be helpful, not only to the readers on Google, but to the restaurant owners as well. What we ordered: -Jambalaya: The soup was OK, but was served with a scoop of cold, under-cooked rice on top. After picking out the meat, the rest of the soup and hard rice sat on the side. -Lobster Mac & Cheese: A few good-sized chunks of lobster is the one redeeming quality of this item. The dish lacked any real flavor or "cheesiness". Underneath the cheese and crackers baked on top, it was basically plain noodles with a few chunks of lobster. -Calamari: Their "top seller" according to our server. The breading and sauce was quite good, but know that they use cuts of more mature squids -- which are larger and seemed tougher in consistency than the more common variety which are small and tender. -Crab Cake: Served with the same sauce as the calamari, the flavor was OK, but our dish was under-cooked and the "cake" portion in the middle was soggy. The service: Our server was friendly and enthusiastic -- which was a great start. We informed him that we had a show to catch in about an hour so we would be ordering off the appetizer menu for quickness. He understood. After taking our initial order, we saw him only once again (delivering our drink order), before we had only 10 minutes to get to the theater. We had no other choice but to literally get up, walk around and find another employee to track him down so we could cash out and not miss our show. All of the food was dropped off by other servers, at separate times, in a manner more consistent with a Dennys diner than a high-end restaurant. Misc: There was a large piece of foil from the bottle at the bottom of my wine glass.
