I was a first time customer in March. I was welcomed by a woman at the desk for check in. While checking in I was asked to complete payment for my service since I was one of the last appointments. The woman instructed me that they do this to "speed up the process" at night. This through me off a bit, but I paid and even left a tip without sitting in anyones chair or even having stepped foot in the salon before. Ms. Karen washed my hair and seemed extremely well versed in natural hair care, but she was honest and let me know that she is not very keen on colored hair. I asked her to cut all my dead ends, but she told me to continue to grow them out. I had paid for a precision cut, so I was not happy with this. I continued to let her wash and "style" my hair, but I was sent out of the salon in twists because I was not allowed to sit under the dryer the full time. Once again, this is because I was the last appointment. I went home, took the twists down the next morning, and absolutely hated my hair. It was my birthday so I was pretty upset. I love supporting black owned businesses and I believe the intentions of this salon are good, but I had a horrible first experience and I have not returned since.

My original experience 6 yrs ago was different from my current experiences with Synergi and I believe that was a reflection on the stylist at the time (not the greatest attitude); I decided to give the salon another chance and I have been pleasantly happy with my results. Ive been doing my own hair for the last 6 years and I needed a break from handling my own hair. I am glad that I have trusted my natural hair to the ladies at Synergi. Thus far the styles are on point to my personal taste (Im 30 something) that I recommend ever woman Ive encounter to give them a try and thus far my mom, nieces, god-daughter, sisterfriends has step-in the shop. On Synergi products: I mainly wear curly styles and I LOVE the mouse it keeps my 4b curls bouncy and non-flakey. Customer Service: The ladies at the desk are extremely accommodating. There were several times in which I had to switch appointment times or late for my appointment and they were able to work with me. Also I can almost guarantee that if I go in at 11:00 a.m., I am out by 12:30 p.m.

I would not EVER get my hair done here or ever in my LIFE recommend a soul to step foot in this very rude establishment. Others warned me, but I tried it for myself and it was not a good visit. A rude woman named Regina had so many negative rude comments coming out her mouth for my hair. Apparently, my hair was too kinky and Problematic for her to do. She also stated multiple times, " I dont even know if I can even get through to your...type of problematic...ugh..". Although when I looked at her hair it looked terrible as if she just woke up and walked in the salon to be the rude woman that she is. I went in to get my color cut out but after those extra rude comments I did not trust her with a pair of scissors. So I reported her, and left indeed. I received no apology from the establishment. Just an "Ok". All I ask is to be respected and treated well. I do NOT PAY FOR RUDENESS AND DISRESPECT. Synergi gives rude energy... DO NOT GO HERE...Instead go to Christophers on Mt. Vernon Ave! And let Marvin do your hair!! He is THE BEST!!

My experience was nothing less than terrible. I felt the young lady who did my hair was very unprofessional, unseasoned in how to treat natural hair and customers. She was rude and had black hair dye all over my face and her reasoning was "they had STUFF to get if off any way". As if that makes a difference. When I tried to explain to this young lady that her work should always be spot on and that this is a learning experience for her, she still had an attitude as if she didnt need nor want the constructive criticism. REALLY! (Proverbs 15:5 A fool despiseth his fathers instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent). Even the manager was a bit clueless as to how to instruct these young girls. I hope they all can learn and grow from this experience. I have to say the young lady did try to make things better, still with attitude but she is on the correct road. Not going back there needless to say. Her work was very poor and my hair looks like I did it at my kitchen table.

I only recommend Synergi if your transitioning from relaxed to natural. I had two different experiences w/ two different stylist. Stylist 1 gave me the custom cut which was horrible. She told me that I should book w/ a younger stylist. I tried to get some knowledge from her and I got nothing. Stylist 2 was a younger stylist who was more worried about her personal issues then my hair. I came out w/ a old lady hair style. The last issue is the products. I would go there and they would be out. How can you push a product that you never have in stock? The products were always on back order. Lastly, I like that Karen would do the education however, she could never answer questions about natural hair if you are not transitioning. She had a model that said her hair did not revert when she went to the gym. A question was asked about if you are natural and did not transition could you get that same result and she was unsure.

Today I entered the salon prepared to have a professional stylist do my 91 year old moms hair we arrived ten minutes before the appiontment by 9:15 we had not been seen I asked the receptionists would my mom be seen soon she informed that the stylist was in and she would check the stylist appoached asking if I was Katherine I said my mom is 91 my preference is she called Ms Katey or by her last name Things rapidly declined she became rude over talking me to the point I refused services . Prior to this incident I had nothing but high praise for the services provided to me,my daughter and granddaughter after today I will not return nor recommend others the incident had me in tears. My time matters as does professionalism.

Beware ladies. I made the mistake of visiting the salon at the gahanna location and guess what I got? HEAT DAMAGE!!!!!! I am trying not to cry right now. My hair is short so there is no hiding this. I look a fool right now. My hair in the front is straighter and smoother than it was when I had a relaxer. I have patches all over that are super straight. I cant believe I paid $50 and tipped $10 for this mess! I will never step foot in this place again! Months and months of taking care of my hair to have it ruined in 2 hours by someone who felt the need to flat iron my hair THREE TIMES and blow dry it TWICE annnnnd sit me under the dryer until I was dripping sweat. Never. Ever. Again.

My initial experience with this salon would have been 0 stars. I went in requesting my natural hair to be dyed a deep purple and was told that they are a "conservative shop" , thats very offensive to say to a potential customer!! But i was recently recommended to go there for my daughters hair and we have been seeing Jamela Bowman for about 2 months now and i can see significant growth in my daughters hair. Jamela is also very professional, personable and knowledgeable on hair care. Jamela has changed my opinion of this salon so for now i plan to continue to patronize them .
