Dont take your clothes here if you have animals!!!!! I have been getting my dry cleaning done with these people for years. Today, I go to pick up my shirts, and the man told me that they are charging me an extra 5.00 for cat hair being on my shirt. There was hardly any cat hair on my shirt, and besides that, the woman who accepted the shirts didnt mention the upcharge when they took the shirts (and there is nothing said on their signage). Good business practice would have been to mention to me that they do not accept clothes with any cat hair on them, and charge me the original quoted price. I politely argued with the man that I should not be charged 5.00 AFTER the fact and informed him that if he charged me the extra 5.00, he would lose a customer. He continued to WHINE about the cat hair like I was his mother. Obviously this business doesnt appreciate its customers, or have any business acumen. Just this review alone will cost them WAY more than 5.00 in lost business. Not to mention that I am a professor at the local university in the business school and teach 5 or 6 classes each year with 200 people in them. This will make an excellent specific example to teach the class what customer lifetime value means.

Im adapting this from my recent Yelp review of Royal. Behind the deceptively underwhelming facade (think ghost of a former Mission-style restaurant) is probably one of the best alterations/sewing places Ive ever encountered. The family does such great work that Ive actually mailed clothing from out of state to Kent-based relatives to have them repair it for me. Ive had jeans patched, seams in coat linings redone, and dress lengths altered. They also expertly patched the covers of a family members fraying couch cushions, ensuring that she could get a few more years wear out of her current sofa. I appreciate that before beginning a job, they provide a very realistic assessment of what is possible with the particular garment. Ive also found their prices to be extremely reasonable for the quality of work that they do. Ive never gotten clothes dry cleaned here, but I did notice a posse of Kent State band uniforms hanging out the last time I went in for a pick up. Thats another vote of confidence for Royal.

I have never had anything dry cleaned, so I cannot speak for that. I go to this establishment to get my clothes hemmed. They have a little area where you can try on the clothes and one of the girls will pin it up to where you want it. I take all of my stuff here, mostly pants. Decent price and they always do a good job. Things are ready in a reasonable amount of time too. One time I took some pants there in the morning, asked if they could be done by 5:30 that night, and they did it without a problem. I have recommended this business to my mom and she liked it as well. The people who work there (and own the business, I assume) are polite. Recommend for sure.

Ive been using Royal for years for both dry cleaning and alterations and theyre wonderful on both fronts! Kind and courteous owners/employees, excellent work and very reasonable prices. As a dog owner, it doesnt bother me that I need to use the lint brush well on our clothes before dropping them off to be cleaned (or they could be courteously refused!). That tells me Royal has very high standards when it comes to their dry cleaning practices — which is to the benefit of ALL customers!

I was happy enough with the service until I returned home and saw that they had written in FELT-TIP pen my last name on the each of my shirts. Some were pretty cheap but now I have a vandalized +$100 shirt. Totally unacceptable. Didnt actually see any dry cleaning capabilities. This is a laundry service, not a dry cleaners. I think they outsource their dry cleaning. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. And what do I do about the graffiti on my shirt?!?!?!?!

I took four skirts to get altered and a dress to get a new zipper. Not too bad of cost, took a week to get done. Skirts look fabulous (especially since one was rather quirky to hem) and you cant tell the zipper isnt the original. Professional quality. Id go back again

LIFE SAVERS!! No other dry cleaners of 15 I called could do same day fix of a zipper... they replaced in within hours looks great and affordable!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Saw them fitting someone else tux, they are very fast with everything they do!!

I called at 2:30 when I had to be at a wedding at 5:00 and they were kind enough to let out a pair of my pants while I waited at no additional charge. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
