My gripe isnt too much on this location but rather LA fitness as a whole. Why is this not a 24 hour gym? Wheres the WIFI? Their hours of operations need to be changed. I want to beat the morning crowd before 5am or sometimes I get the urge to workout late at night but cant because theyre closed. Why open so late (8am) on the weekend? You would think they would hire an overnight cleaning crew so the people who come in, in the morning wouldnt have to come into a dirty gym with trash everywhere, empty paper towel machines, over flowing trash, supplement powder covering counter tops, urine soaked toilet seats and floors...the gym is pretty much left a disaster from the evening workout goers. Ive been going here for 2 years and have been in less then 10 times where it hasnt been packed! I feel making it 24 hour would thin the crowd out. I understand its smaller then other LA Fitness gyms but they completely waste all the space they do have. For some reason people carry around gym bags and leave a trail of clothes at each machine so they have it "reserved" Ive seen this on multiple occasions. Im not really sure why they allow people to use chalk on the plates either. Only 3 squat racks, seriously? I can guarantee not one person will be doing actual squats in them as well. Not enough variety of machines or attachments. Its easy to get bored here. Unfortunately there arent many hardcore gyms in the area so Im kind of stuck here. I live 5 minutes away from this gym but have been making the drive to a non-commercial gym in Middletown that is smaller but has a better atmosphere, more machines and cleanliness. The prices for a membership are decent. Coming from Pricetime I mean - "Life Time" fitness where you get membership prices based on age, I cant complain. In summary if LA fitness made an attempt to compete with other gyms other then their price I would probably stick around.

Hello everyone! Ive joined this gym ( symmes ) and i really like its classes and working hours. I go 5 times a week for Cycle and just love it! I had no complains about anything till today. But today i have been just shocked to find out how obtuse and insensitive the staff is and here i mean the management and front desk people, not class instructors). I have lost two of my rings( wedding+engagement) in a cycle class on monday. I rushed there the moment i realized it is gone but there was no sign of them anywhere. Then i spoke to the people on the reception desk and left a description and my contact info. I went there today and asked them to put a note on the front desk and cycle class door. The man ( ED) who was there told me they cannot do it. On my question why, he simply replied that they are not allowed to put anything that provides personal info to others. Still this didnt sound rational to me and i tried to speak to him once more and explain that it is my responsibility and i understand its probably gone for good, but i want t try to find it. I cannot understand why they wouldnt help me!!! where is the basic human courtesy?? anyway this was like talking to a wall! Dear LA Fitness people: its not like i am promoting my local business, i simply trying to find a thing I cannot replace. So why dont you want to help me with this?

RUDE STAFF Im new in town, and stopped by to check out the facility. I was led to the sales staff who immediately resorted to high pressure sales tactic, urging me to sign multi-year contract, while I made clear from the first minute that my future in this town was uncertain yet. The staff was not helping himself, failing to answer basic question, even when told of my specifics. The only bargaining tactic that hes been taught appears to be evasive (boasting 160 pricing schedules) and dragging on in time. The irony was, he started to lose patience before I did, and appeared irritated, when I told him that I must leave in 10 minutes for a prior commitment. The sales guy was a JERK and started to question the integrity of my specifics, while he apparently had difficulty understanding anything. The worst part came when he started yelling that he "will serve other customers" in the middle of our conversation while there was no other customers in sight. I would give them a "zero" star, and NEVER set foot again!

Equipment is good, staff are friendly most of the time except you are trying to cancel anything. Gym management is a nightmare, some personal trainers are basically salesmen with certain training experience. Once you hooked up, they will NEVER let you off, even if they agreed to cancel it, they will make you jump through hoops, which really makes you wanna just burn that fxxking place into ground. Actually I dont blame the staff there, they are just doing what been told to do, its this evil company always trying to steal money from honest people. This is a company without healthy culture, regulation and integrity. If you want to enjoy your life, try to stay away any paid training there, stick with your basic membership, then it is actually a very good and well-equipped gym compare to others and you can start doing good with your life.

I work front desk and kids club at this location. All the employees are wonderful people and the operations manager (my boss) is literally the sweetest girl ever. I dont understand why people are leaving reviews saying that the staff is rude and insensitive. We are very nice to all our members and do our best to help you guys with anything you need. If youre unhappy with the service we provide please come speak to us personally so that we can improve on things instead of publicly bashing us online. I speak for all of the employees at la fitness when I say that we genuinely care about you guys and we are doing our best to provide you with a safe and enjoyable gym experience.

Not open until 8am on weekends is absurd. I travel and most other LAFitness are open anywhere from 6 to 7am on weekends. I do not know why they vary the open hours from state to state. Maybe they think locals are lazy and like to sleep in. As far as the club, other than lots of mold in the showers and on the curtains (really gross), the club is clean enough and functional. Staff, well they were not rude but they just dont care. Music in mens locker room was so loud you could not carry on a conversation. After a few mentions to staff, kept getting the same answer "okay, Ill take care of it" hours later still no change.

Club is too hot...nearly 90 degrees inside and they refuse to turn on the AC. The customer service is horrible. Very rude front desk staff, and the club operations manager (Emily) is very difficult. She is uncooperative and refuses your requests to cancel membership. I called dozens of times and sent countless emails, but she avoids all forms of contact. I ended up having to contact corporate to cancel my membership and she still charged me an extra months dues. I now have to get my bank to block future charges from the club. Do NOT join here. Overall HORRIBLE experience.

Workout room is very good and basketball court and other workout machines. Locker rooms are seldom cleaned where it can be seen the same dirt or debris for days at a time. Showers are also not cleaned for days at a time. This is the mens area but after talking to other females the showers in the womans are about the same. Not worth the monthly $35 to just work out and not use the showers and locker rooms. Check out the other gyms before joining this one unless you plan on just working out like some people because the locker rooms and showers are filthy.
