This is for the Management a well deserved ONE STAR .....and heres why, Classes and Kids center both start at 830 am which means: 1. Cycle and aerobic classes are filled with kids running around and jumping on equipment and in danger of injury ergo possible lawsuit for LF negligence atop the annoyance factor to other members. 2. Spots, equipment are taken BC of this which means not getting the spot or the equipment, at best being late to the class or having to forfit a class bc of this. All of which has happened to both me and my wife. 3. Employees hanging out texting in kids center until 830am while a huge line builds outside until they open which results in both 1, 2 mentioned above. My wife has missed classes especially Saturdays b/c of this, both of us now cannot attend classes together. I brought to Stephanies the managers attention over two weeks ago and last Saturday we had this problem again, Tuesday the 20th a Mother came to spin class with a 6mo infant and 3 yo running around than down to put kids in and missed the first 8 minutes of the class b/c of it. Perhaps saving the $20 dollars a day not employing staff there from 800am is the way that the $30,000 dollar cobble stone replacement budget was paid for Or better yet some regional directors XMAS bonus ect. IN SUM I would like an intelligent answer as to why this hasnt been rectified thus far..and not...Ohh were working on it....The floor is yours ADDENDUM........July 8th 2016.. They now open the kids center at 815 giving us 15 minutes to dropemoff and ready a work out, they actually listened to the customer and delivered based on needs....finally thus I upped the 1star to a 3star...

I wish there was a way to leave no stars. My family and I joined Lifetime in 2007 when it was just a construction trailer. Over the years, it was obvious that this was not the gym for us for a multitude of reasons. When I called to cancel, I was told I had to come it. Fine, I went in to cancel. The sales rep was very kind and kept trying to offer personal training to make the most of my remaining time as a member. Why would I want to take time away from a commissioned employee when I would not want to be a repeat customer? All I wanted was to cancel my membership on good terms and not be charged the October dues. I was told she didnt have the authority to do this but she would inquire. I had to reach back out to follow up on this request. When I got a response the next day, she couldnt even spell my name correctly. A massive gym is not for me and part of why I didnt want to maintain my membership was simply because I felt like a number. The fact that I couldnt get an email response after that or a returned phone call climbing the ladder solidified to me just how important my money is as opposed to me as a person. Over the past couple of years, the standards and promises made have become distant lies. The locker rooms are filthy. The rates continue to go up and services do not justify the expense. I could not be more disappointed. While I was considering going back just for summers, I will definitely not be going back and I will also be encouraging all my friends and networks to avoid this cold, dirty, over priced mega gym as well.

I was a member of Lifetime fitness since 2010. I recently moved to Tampa, FL and came in at the end of April to cancel my membership. They were unable to help me in person because "the person who does this wasnt there" said the teenager at the desk. I moved and sent a certified letter as instructed, but I didnt send it "on time" per their guidelines and policies and am now being charged $120 for a gym I cant use. I have been passed between 1-800 numbers, voicemails at the club, and e-mails with no resolution. As a customer since 2010 I have spent thousands of dollars at this club. All I was asking for was a $120 charge to be dropped. Eventually I ended up talking to Tina who did a whole lot of talking and not a lot of listening. I know they have the ability to waive this fee so I dont believe her that she cant. She said I could talk to the general manager but "she is out on leave." How convenient. If I ever move near a Lifetime fitness again, I will not even consider it an option to join as they have terrible customer service. Yes, I am at "fault" for not mailing my letter on time, but sorry, I was moving to Ohio to Florida and going to the post office to mail Lifetime a certified letter was not the first thing on my priority list. Way to go Lifetime, you lost a customer over $120 and hopefully others will see the truth about your gym as well.

Was a decent gym but they only care about money. dues go up every few months it seems like. Most of the time you cant even get on a piece of weight lifting equipment because there are so many people there. I Tried to put my membership on hold ( $10 a month) after being there for three years and was hit with a $22 service fee. I could not justify paying the fee and also an extra 10 a month so I requested to simply cancel. I was called back by Tina and she attempted to persuade me into staying by saying that the service fee was nesseccary for staff doing paper work which is ridiculous . after i insisted on her to just cancel my membership she continued to try to get me to stay until I got frustrated and had to get rude. I wanted it to cancel may 3rd. I then get an email saying that I requested a may 2015 cancel date but she made it to where I was going to have to pay up until July. Luckily if this goes to collections I have the request sheet from another staff member staying that I requested a may cancelation fee. The gym was crowded during most free times . The mason community center is just as good and cheaper. Or if you only need cardio equipment or weight lifting crunch is $10-$20 a month and is also 24/7.

If you choose to join with this fitness company be very aware of their shady business practices. After being with them since 1999 (started in Michigan), I decided that their periodic $5-6 monthly price increase was getting excessive so I decided to quit them. On July 28, 2014, I went into the club and said that effective that day, I wanted to end my membership. They said that they would bill me on Aug 1st for another month and my effective last day would be Aug 31st. I said, "No", I want to end my membership that day on July 28 and not be billed for an extra month. Apparently, they said that in their contract (in some sneaky fine print) they have the option to bill an extra month. This is just poor business ethics. When you join, they hit you with a $100 - $200 initiation fee and then whenever you decide to end your membership they "decide " to take an extra month. In my case $131 for my family membership. The club is nice, but be aware of their hidden profit opportunities.
