This is a great gym, and its changing my life! First, some background. Im the type of guy who would spend $35 a month on gym memberships I rarely used. When I did, I was walking around aimlessly, trying different machines for an hour, and never really feeling like I accomplished anything. I avoided free weights and the dudes who were always judging each other over high-fives and protein shakes. I eventually quit gyms all together and resorted to jogging and other light exercise, neither with any sort of passion behind it. For the last few years, Ive heard my friends talk about CrossFit. I was always intrigued by the concept, but shied away from checking out a "box" due to cost, or whatever other excuse I could muster. When my neighbor bought us a month trial membership, things changed. I was about to turn 40 and knew I had to get my act together both for myself and my family, which includes a young daughter. Thats when I started at CrossFit Remnant. The owner/coach Travis immediately made me feel welcome during my evaluation meeting. I struggled through that first WOD, and was not able to finish the entire workout. Slightly discouraged and my pride a little bruised, I came back the next day for a class. Again, I struggled, but the coaches scaled the workout to my ability and were encouraging the entire time. The community aspect of the gym is also very motivational. Its not uncommon for those who have finished their workout to cheer on and encourage those who have not. Im now three months into my membership and Im starting to notice a change in my body and endurance. While I still have a ways to go, coaches Michael (both), Travis, Erin, Lindsay, Sarah and Maria have all done an amazing job stressing form and technique, scaling accordingly, and in general, encouraging me. My confidence has grown and Ive come a long way since that mid-January workout. Thank you, CrossFit Remnant!

CrossFit Remnant is the best gym I have been apart of without question! There are all different types of ethnicities, ages, and fitness levels but the culture of the gym is one that is healthy minded, uplifting, positive, thus resulting in a true community gym! The coaches are well trained and pay special attention to form during workouts (this helps avoid injury). They know how to push you to meet and exceed goals without making you overdo it or injure yourself. One thing I have found unique to this gym is they take the time to demonstrated each movement prior to the workout to clearly explain/show the dos and donts every class! At other gyms I have been a part of the coaches assume everyone knows the proper way to do the movements so they do not bother explaining. I have been doing Crossfit for a couple years (combined) and I still appreciate the refresher. People at Crossfit Remnant are friendly and we have fun non-work out get-togethers but the gym is not cliquish. Everyone is welcoming, kind, and encouraging. Travis takes the health of his members seriously. He goes steps beyond by organizing educational nutrition classes and has a mobile truck come to the gym quarterly to test body fat and muscle mass. It is a hydrostatic test which is accurate and it is completely confidential! The results do not lie; it is motivating and addicting, but consistency is key! So thankful to be apart of this gym! It has improved the quality of my life in more ways than one!

I first walked into Crossfit Remnant nervously pushing a newborn in a stroller. I was out of shape and lacking confidence, searching for a place I could bring my baby and toddler with me. (CFR has a kids room!!) The very first day I walked out of the gym so excited (and sore). The coaches and members welcomed me with smiles and helped me set up my baby girl in a bouncy seat not to far from my barbell. I never felt intimidated, only uplifted and encouraged. I even had coaches hold a fussy baby so I could finish up my workout. CFR has enabled me to not only get back into pre baby shape, but helped me to gain confidence and strength I did not know I possessed. The comradery here is like nothing Ive ever experienced at a gym. Members celebrate life events together, host baby showers, experience hardships together, bring meals to others who need it, fundraise for wonderful causes, sweat together, laugh together, cry together, do life together. CFR is like a family. It encourages, loves, motivates, and challenges. The coaching staff is not only knowledge, they take the time to really know each member. They are able to meet a wide variety of needs and levels, and achieve unique individual goals. They can work with a person who has never touched a barbell, or help the experienced crossfitter keep growing as an athlete. All while fostering an environment where members truly become like family. It is the perfect balance of hard work and fun. Awesome coaches, amazing people.

I attended remnant for half a month and after trying couple of other boxes I can vouch for this place. The following things set remnant apart from the other crossfit gyms in this area: Group/community - Travis makes sure that you feel a part of the group. No matter what your fitness level is, you will fit in here from the day one. From newbies to athletes, everyone will make you feel comfortable, and I think thats the most important thing. There is no competition here, everyone motivates each other. I must say Travis is doing an excellent job in this department. Coaches - Michael, Travis, and Eric are excellent coaches. They know exactly how you should adapt to crossfit workouts and help you a lot with that. I had to take an unexpected break because of an injury and couldnt continue here because of some minor reasons that are totally subjective such as traffic gets really bad in this area during peak hours, class timings didnt suit my wife, and we found some better pricing options at the other crossfit gyms. Still I would rate this place 5/5 as the two characteristics about this box I mentioned are very important for anybody who is planning to start crossfit.

Great people, great workouts. The enthusiasm and encouragement are contagious. I began crossfit about a year ago. Before I never did much besides hike and run which were not providing me with results. After hearing the hype about crossfit, I decided to try a free session with Travis at CrossFit Remnant. I could barely walk for three days afterwards, but it made me WANT to do it again and conquer that feeling. All of the coaches are encouraging, positive, and really watch us to make sure we are performing the movements correctly. Since each workout is scaled to individual abilities, your only competition is yourself. We encourage each other - yep, even the ripped folks need some encouragement. Did I ever think flipping a tire would be fun? Or swinging a sledgehammer? Nope, but I have done it and actually look forward to those workouts. Another part of Remnant is based on nutrition. If you want to have a productive workout, you have to eat right. We even have guest speakers and nutrition challenges to learn more about eating clean. So glad I took the first step! Stop by try a class!

After having five kids in seven years, my body needed a makeover. A long-time gym goer, I had even worked out with a personal trainer hoping that would help me get my body back in shape. After a couple of years with little results, I finally tried Crossfit. The stigma that Crossfit was only for hardcore athletic people who liked to torture themselves while working out kept me from trying Crossfit sooner, but after my first workout I knew this was the place for me. The unique thing about Crossfit Remnant is that its a place of compatibility and acceptance; its truly community. Regardless of fitness level, here you find people that will support and encourage you on your fitness journey. The highly trained coaches know how to help you reach your fitness goals and encourage and safely push you to go way beyond what you were ever capable of doing. Its amazing how far Ive come in the last 10 months. Some people are hesitant to pay the price of Crossfit, but I guarantee you cant get the same results with expert coaching while enjoying and building community anywhere else.
