Ive been going to the Willowick location for about 2 years. Ive had some great experiences and hairstylist those 2 stylist being Rebecca and Storm who no longer work there. Went in for a flat-iron and cut today as I normally do. As usual I asked if there were any stylist that were able to cut and iron really course African American hair. ANNIE said that any stylist could. Okay, so I sat in the lobby and chatted with some customers. In the midst of chatting with a customer she recommend that I get my hair cut by Nikki. I took her words for as we both got out hair cut by Storm. So ANNIE comes to get but I requested Nikki. Nikki made a comment that gave me reason to be concerned. Her comment was "I dont cut African American hair every day but I will try" and "Im not really comfortable with doing your hair, you seem picky ". Okay, so I move on to letting ANNIE try and what a HUGE MISTAKE. ANNIE asked my attitude least 20 questions about how to cut my hair, what products to use, and others that made me feel humiliated. Those questions were "when was the last time you combed your hair " in a way that assumes that I dont comb it much. I washed and blow dried my hair prior to coming in. She asked me what type of flat iron to use, the temple, just stuff that she should already know. Before I knew it both Nikki and ANNIEs hands were in my hair. No! I then made a comment that I wasnt having a great experience and got emotional since hair is a big thing for me and the next woman. ANNIE told me that I wasnt looking to have a good experience. ANNIE also told me that I should go to a Black salon that specializes in doing Black hair. Rude!! Great clips markets itself as a diverse hair salon, which leads customers to assume that they have stylist that are capable of doing all multicultural hair. Its 2017 I should not be call to salons to inquire about them having stylist that can do my hair, shouldnt have to be a customer and instructor, or test dummy for any one to learn something new. ANNIE made a statement asking "How will I ever learn to do African Americans hair?" Its not my job as a customer to teach you or the next stylist. Once again its 2017 where the GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE are at your fingertips to educate you on many things. I refuse to make excuses for some of the ignorance that runs blissfully in business where they want multicultural money without catering to multicultures. Nikki tried to do damage control and offered to cut my hair but hey why would I let her after she told me that she didnt know what she was doing. FOH!!!! Luckily, I ventured to the Willoughby location where stylist Brittany did an amazing job! Good customer service, quality cut and style. Had me feeling like a BAD MAMA JAMMA!!!! Had me model walking out the shop!

Too bad I have to leave a star at all, Id leave a Zero star if I could! It was the absolute worst service I have ever gotten! I took my 3 year old in for a haircut and the lady was literallly pulling my child towards the chair and wouldnt let him sit in my lap like every other great clips Ive ever been to with him or any other hair place. And then they gave attitude when I said never mind, like do you really think a scared 3 year old is going to sit still by himself? Hes great with haircuts as long as I hold him anywhere else. They are never getting business from us again. I like Magic Scissors better anyways.

The woman with the chin length black hair left my hair completely uneven, and spent the whole time trying to sell me products instead of paying attention to my hair. When I got home and blow dried it, I was horrified at how noticeable the difference in length was.
