DO NOT USE THIS CLEANER! I wish I could give them negative stars. I dropped off a bunch of items to get cleaned (first trip) and it wasnt until I picked them up (second trip) and got home that I realized they had completely ruined one of my blazers and didnt say a word about it. I immediately took it back (third trip) and explained what they had done. I was told "Its how it was made" and "we cant be responsible for the manufacturing". When I told them that was a bunch of bull and that they are apparently a professional dry cleaner who is supposed to take care of such delicate items, they then proceeded to tell me "You should find your receipt and return it". Only after arguing with them for quite some time did they tell me I would have to talk to the manager the next day. I came back the next day (forth trip) to talk to the manager who gave me the same excuses. When I told them they were going to replace it, THATS when they offered to fix it. They told me to come back in two days. I came back two days later (fifth trip) and low and behold it wasnt fixed. They had cannibalized other detail work from the blazer to replace to more obviously ruined parts, but in the process ruined the other areas of the blazer. By this time I was fuming and told them they were paying for it. I talked to the "manager" on the phone who told me they were sorry this happened and they wanted to keep me happy and they would pay for the blazer to keep my business, but that I couldnt pick up a check until today (two days later). I went back today (my sixth trip there) and THE MANAGER REFUSED TO PAY FOR IT EVEN AFTER HE SAID HE WOULD AND WOULD NOT REFUND THE CLEANING COST!!!!! I have never encountered such poor business practice and such horrible customer service. If you take on the responsibility of owning a business that cleans clothes, you are responsible for what happens to those clothes when you clean them. It is a miracle they are still in business. Six trips later, I am without one of my favorite blazers and they still charged me to have it cleaned.

BUYER BEWARE - I recently had a very similar experience to Lorraine. Six weeks ago I brought 3 white brooks brothers dress shirts to Willamette Dry Cleaners. When I picked up the shirts they had been discolored from white to yellow. I was told that this was due to a manufacturing defect in the shirts and that the owner would take it up with the manufacturer. He promised to compensate me for half the value of the shirts in credit and write a check for the other half if the manufacturer did not replace them. Over the next four weeks I stopped into the store regularly asking whomever was there to have the owner call me and let me know what was going on. A call never came and finally one evening, six weeks after I originally brought my shirts to the dry cleaner, I popped in looking for the owner and the attendant told me that he would be there in a half an hour, so I waited for him. When he arrived he told me that he was unsuccessful in getting the shirts replaced and that he would compensate me in store credit for half the value of the shirts that he ruined. When I reminded him that he had promised to compensate me for the full value half in credit, half with a check, he inserted the qualification that he only intended to compensate me with cash if he was reimbursed by the manufacturer. I argued that he should take responsibility for the condition of he customers property, to which he responded "it is not my fault" - by taking your clothing here you risk it being damaged and engaging yourself in a drawn out fruitless hassle to get any kind of compensation.

This place does a great job with dry cleaning and alterations. Loved their service for almost a year. Up until recently...I found their customer service is not so great. They displaced a shirt, custom-made and monogrammed, two months ago (my boyfriend is 67" and shirts are costly and have to be customized). Somehow the shirt was included in another ticket so I was asked to wait a few weeks to see if a customer will return it. This did not happen. Ive been waiting for the "owner" (if this person exists) to call regarding replacing/compensation and every week Im told I will get a call this week. Its been 8 weeks. I asked for contact information of the owner but they refuse. Im not sure what my next move will be but I am deeply disappointed. Such a great location, nice service, very sweet lady at counter who looks scared every time I ask about the status of the shirt. I hope no other customers have to experience the loss of a garment. You are so SOL.

Let me premise this review by noting that I gave this dry cleaner a lot of business. They ruined an expensive article of clothing (and by ruined I mean it went from neon-colored to off-white) and then gave me a hard time about it (i.e., its poor quality, didnt have a cleaning instruction tag, etc. - OK, well you could have kindly articulated that you didnt feel comfortable cleaning the item and asked me to take it somewhere else, rather than ruining it and in hindsight making these claims). Significantly under-compensated me for the item. It was just a mess. Please take your business elsewhere. There are so many honest, good, family-run dry cleaners in the downtown area. And know that if you have expensive clothing and they ruin it, you will not be adequately compensated, if at all! Is it worth it? Definitely not!

Clarification: There are two Willamette Dry Cleaners. Ive had really good experiences with this one, located on Marshall St. Theres one about seven blocks southeast of it, called (I believe) Willamette Valley Dry Cleaners. Im pretty sure thats the one that is generating the complaints, since reviews of that store are solely negative. I have mid-range clothing and they seem to handle it well--success with a $110 Hugo Boss shirt with a pen ink stain, for instance. If this is in fact the same store that destroyed these other folks clothes and then gave them the runaround, Id be shocked, since the owners of the place on Marshall St. all seem pretty nice.

Do NOT use. Thoroughly UNIMPRESSED with this cleaner. they completely destroyed a dress (there must be a rough spot in their machines bc it pulled the threads on a silk dress). After accusing me of taking in an "already drestroyed" dress, she told me the owner would call me and we could discuss. 5 days later I had yet to hear from the owner, and he still will not acknowledge that he destroyed it. STAY AWAY from this cleaner - they are too expensive, and there are much better alternatives walking distance from this one.

I have just picked up my brand new $300+ coat from this location and discovered that it had some sort of sticky substance all over the front. I think its some kind of glue. This is a coat I just bought and have never worn. When I pointed it out to the lady she told me I must have done it and insisted that I pay her for the service and refused to have it cleaned. Seriously, it was brand new and spotless when I dropped it off. AVOID.
