Short version: Took 37 days to get my order (estimated 25-30 at the time I placed the order). Never even heard anything till I contacted them on day 33, when they realized they had been sitting down getting "ready to ship" for the past week. When I asked for a discount for the inconvenience, I was denied because such an action would "violate our terms of service." I placed my order for some Shaker Cabinet Doors (unfinished/unpainted) on 4/14/2016. I had already contacted this company about possibly picking up my order, since I live just 15 minutes away, but they denied that request stating "safety concerns" with customers coming to pick up orders, so I had to pay to ship the doors about 10 miles. 33 days went by, and I was as patient as possible waiting. I knew that I wouldnt get updates until the order shipped. Finally, I emailed them to find out what was going on. The person who responded said that it looked like they would be finished soon and shipped out soon. I emailed him back and he replied again saying that it was being sent down to be shipped that day. I requested a small discount for the inconvenience, which was ignored. A week later (4 business days) my doors finally arrived. That is 37 business days since I placed the order. This was way longer than estimated when I placed the order (20-25 days). Youve just ignored my request for a discount in previous emails. My order sat down in their warehouse completed for almost an entire week, waiting to be shipped. I was frustrated, but understand that lead times can be unpredictable and this company would probably be willing to offer a discount for such a poor experience. I was wrong. I emailed Clayton Brooks (Customer Relations Director) who told me that they dont "offer a discount on services rendered," and that was that. Also received an email from Chad Barker who said he "must deny this request (for a discount) as it would violate our terms of service." I dont know what kind of company offers a product with an estimation of delivery time, exceeds that time by a lot, offers no communication with the customer that the product is going to be delivered late, and then denies a request for a reasonable discount with an excuse that "it would violate their terms of service." What obligation do they have to those terms of service. Apparently very little. It is very clear that Barker Doors values their time much more than their customers. Since the cabinet doors came so late, I was working an 80/hr work week schedule when they came and had no time to paint of install them. They had to wait another month to get done. Also, 2 of the doors were the wrong size, and I was sent 2 hinges that were the incorrect size. I have no intention of even trying to get them to fix these problems, as I know what their reply will be. If you want cabinets from a company that has respect for their customers time and is willing to accept responsibility for going far over on projected time-frames...use someone else. ***Update 7/21/2016**** Chad (from Barker Doors) emailed me again after seeing this review and offered a discount. Ive improved my rating to 3/5 stars. Im happy with the product. The major problem was their lack of communication when the order was significantly delayed. Consider using them, but understand that they are working on improving this process.

PRICE/DESIGN: My husband and I bought our first home with an FHA 203(k) mortgage, rolling in the costs of renovating the horrible kitchen. I contacted Barker to get a temporary license for Cabinet Vision and used the program to design an L-shaped kitchen with an additional run of cabinets all the way up to the ceiling in a pantry area next to the fridge. Our kitchen is about 15x13, with 9 ceilings. We loved the ability to customize down to 1/4", and to get extra tall upper cabinets to really take advantage of our high ceilings. Cabinet Vision takes a little getting used to, but I thought it was super fun, and we needed professional looking elevations of the new kitchen plans to include with our loan application and we definitely didnt want to pay a designer. We chose alder cabinets in the New York Inset design, w/MDF panels. All of the cabinetry came to about 5K. The lowest bid that we received from "custom" places in our area was 8.5K. So, wow, the price is a big deal. The quality of the cabinets that we got is much better than the local competitors, too. Their cabinets were made from .5" plywood and soft close hardware would have been an extra charge. SHIPPING: Some people have complained that Barker is a little slow. We didnt do a finish, because were painting them a custom color, so maybe thats why ours arrived a week early. Or maybe summer is a better time to order? Either way, we were pleased with the amount of time that it took. The packing job was absolutely amazing. As we unloaded the freight box that arrived, we just kept saying, "Holy cow, these guys are PROFESSIONALS!" The cabinets shipped all the way across the country, and nothing was damaged at all. ASSEMBLY: Assembly was easy once we watched the YouTube video. We hired a handyman for installation, and he was incredibly impressed with the quality of the cabinets. He said hed never seen RTA cabinets that he was confident could hold a stone counter top without additional support, but that these ones should have absolutely no problem. HINTS: Theres a couple things that we wish wed known ahead of time, so heres a couple of hints. First, if you have an old house, like us, expect some difficulties with installation. If your walls are out of square and/or plumb, the incredibly perfect squareness of the Barker cabinets will require additional fillers and lots of shimming. Apparently some less well-constructed, non-European style cabinets give more "play" for dealing with these sorts of issues. Second, if youre looking to paint yourself, the MDF is great, but DO NOT use water-based paint! We found this out the hard way. After about 5 rounds of sanding, we managed to get the nice smooth surface back.

As a new business owner, I was in need of a crafting desk that could meet all of my needs and more but sadly I just could never find that perfect solution nor design, that is until I set out to design my own desk. I searched the web for cabinets I could customize in width and in height without having to settle on a bland style and lacking in elegance. Barker Cabinets offered everything I was looking for at a cost I could afford. I read many reviews and spent countless hours researching the pros and cons. I was worried about the reviews that stated how difficult the assembly would be and the lack of clear instructions, my other concern was the length of time until my cabinets would be delivered. Ill start by saying I have zero experience in cabinet design and assembly. Barker Cabinets was by far the easiest to design and assemble, a little common sense and reading the instructions that do come with the cabinets made the assembly so easy and if that is not enough to help you the videos that are available on the web will help anyone finish the job like a pro. The lead time for delivery of the cabinets at the time I ordered was 45-55 days with paint, I was a little disappointed with the amount of time it would take but honestly this work in my favor, this gave me time to clear the area & also allowed me to give advanced notice for vacation time from work. I was updated by email on the progress of my cabinets and at all times during the shipping, the best part my cabinets arrived a week earlier than they estimated. The quality of the cabinets is so much more than I ever expected, each piece feels and looks as if I purchased solid wood top of the line. Since my project is not the norm I had concerns that my cabinets might not be a 100% level let alone level on the carpet, I was so wrong. The cabinets were a 100% level both on solid ground and carpet without having to add shims. I Purchased 3cm exotic Granite 91x46 weighing in at 1400lb and when this was installed the cabinets held up beautifully even the Granite sales rep who came out to inspect the cabinets before installation was very impressed with the cabinets and only recommended adding one support bracket in the large open unsupported sitting area. Total time to assemble 5 cabinets with end panels and molding was 1 1/2 days. I am so pleased with my cabinets and have decided I will be using Barker Cabinets for my kitchen remodel. Thank you, Barker Cabinets. Sincerely Kimber G. P.S. Sorry picture quality is terrible.
