This preschool is a dream and so is the owner and teacher Gina. I went looking for a play based preschool with an emphasis on lots of outdoor time. They are every bit what I was hoping for in a preschool and more. The children have art and music and animals, literature and math and science experiences every day all in a play based format, Building Blocks owner and teacher is one of those special people that sees into the heart of every child and can speak to them in a way they hear and know they are heard. She can take two desperately upset boys who both want "that toy!", calm them instantly and one will get the toy and both will leave happy! Amazing! And my son who never sits still will come and listen to a story beginning to end with her. The children love her and so do the parents. We watch are kids blossom with her and want to make her part of our family forever. Some of the things my son and I loved? A tadpole study with tadpoles found stranded in a drying pond, (The kids loved watching these guys swim, grow, and change.) Face painting that the children did themselves, The mud my happy son came home covered in. The climbing wall and rope swings inside and the sand pit, swings and climbing structures outside. The climbing trees too! The childrens garden. The carpentry center with real tools for the kids to use. The co-op experience where my baby daughter was also welcome. The field trips and the visiting profesionals like fireman and police and dentists. Come give this incredible school a little of your time to tour and you will choose this school to be part of your childs life learning.

Building Blocks is a wonderful, family centered preschool. Our daughter is thriving in this creative, stimulating, and loving environment. We love the emphasis on play and teacher observation, where children learn by pursuing their interests. Immersion in nature, both indoors with pets and natural artifacts, and daily outside time, is also a unique and important way to develop childrens innate sense of wonder and connection to the world. We also are impressed with the child-centered activities and tasks, where kids learn to be independent by serving themselves, pouring their own paint, choosing their activities, while being guided and supported by teacher Gina and trained parent volunteers. We feel lucky to have found a school of this caliber in our neighborhood.

This preschool is a hidden gem and is brilliantly designed. It is a living and breathing experience that grows as you grow. Children and their families learn about themselves, their gifts, their environment, and their culture through this unique program. Teacher Gina is a talented and unique State Certified Master Teacher (BA, M.Ed) who really cares and understands. She tailors the environment to each individual and their families. Your child and your family will take away from it more than you could dream possible. Give your family a head start. Discover what is in store for your child’s future through Building Blocks Early Learning Center (ELC).

This is a bittersweet year for my family. It is our 6th and final year having our kids attend Building Blocks. I was lucky enough to find it by chance when my oldest was 3 and ready to start preschool and I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon it. Not only is BBELC a school, it is a community, a family, and a beautiful place filled with numerous memories. All of my kids are better people & students for attending this preschool. I cannot say enough good things. I highly reccomend coming in to see what we are all about. I know your kids will love it and so will you.
