It has been over four years since Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Pittsburgh performed, what I believe to be unnecessary work. Additionally, based on the fact that my Mother was not present during the second contract, the employee told her that the whole sewer line was to be replaced for $9,500 - changed the terms of the contract without her presence and required that papers were signed to take her rights away (it was not until the next day Earl explained the papers that we signed meant they could keep the money whether they did the work or not after we told him that we read that we were supposed to call the Township first) - since then, there has been documented evidence presented to them that they refuse to acknowledge regarding their false advertising, their misrepresentations, their breaches of contract, their shoddy workmanship, their property damage to our home and personal items as a direct result of their breach of contract and failure to send anyone who was competent to perform a hydrojetting service two times upon claimed completion of the contracts. Additionally, they have falsified winning an award that they have been banned from search results from as a form of false advertising and they have (I dont know if they still do) call people contacting Mr. Rooter back as Rooter Champion (I have a voicemail that was left on my personal phone), in addition to more less than ethical business practices that I have been witness to. On top of that, they have filed 2 different lawsuits in an attempt to prevent me from sharing the truth about how they really do business (they have offered THREE times to have a discussion publicly; however, have actually refused to address any of the issues that have been brought up despite my good faith efforts)....Do you want to be their victim and then victimized even further when you expect them to make their mistakes right or express your conclusions and opinions regarding how they ignore their victims before, during, and after the time they were contracted to perform work? I do not recommend Mr. Rooter (any Mr. Rooter location or any Dwyer Group Brand) due to the way the seemingly shady way they have and continue to conduct business. Recently, they are advertising a money-back guarantee (Is that empty "promise" in the event that they can get someone on the phone?)....Based on previous behavior, it would not be reasonable to believe that statement. If you choose them, go in with your eyes open. If they tell you that you have the worst clog that they have ever seen (it is a line that they seemingly tell you) and they "cant" get the line open - find someone else who is a Master Plumber and a local guy to assess your problem - not a national brand....You will save yourself thousands.

Earl M. is to be highly complimented. He summed up the situation at each step, listened to me and talking with me so that I understood fully what the problem was, what was need to be done and how each step would happen. BUT Earl went beyond all that. He provided contact for himself and took the responsibility for all aspects of the job. An example of going beyond: He had reassured me that he would have all info for my insurance company if needed. So when I got a letter from the claims adjuster stating two places in the letter that she could not get brand "R R" to even return her calls and the claim was on hold. Last, would I care to try to contact them, (she had been calling the WRONG company, R R not Mr. Rooter). At 6:45 PM I made one call to Earl and left a msg about it. He returned my call in minutes, Told me to have her call him immediately. Claims adjusters are not 24/7 so the next day I called with a request to contact Earl. A mere 2 hours after that call to the insurance company, I receive a call that Earl had provided everything needed and the paperwork had been finally passed on. I believe Earl instilled a sense of urgency in them to get it done. This is just an example of how he went beyond seeing to it that everything was done and done correctly !! A nice gentleman doing a great job! Thanks Earl !

I give props to our technician, Tre Dill. Not only was he courteous, Tre was very knowledgeable and he took the time to explain what he believed was going on, inside our septic drain pipes, and gave us a couple options to choose from. We agreed that the less expensive approach would be best as the other option would need to be done regardless, if the problem persisted. He explained the pricing and said he could start immediately if we choose, so we had him start right away. So far, so good! We havent experienced any clogs but if we do in the future, we at least know what the problem is and will have Mr. Rooter/Tre back out to do the work! The ONLY thorn in an otherwise rosey experience is, we were sent an email stating the technician was "on his way", only to arrive 3 hours later. We had to put off a few things we had planned because we thought theyd be here at any moment. Frustrating.

2 weeks before we were to close on a house that we renovated we discovered a small leak in the sewer pipe 70 feet from the house and 8 feet under the middle of the road. We knew immediately that our profit margins and the sale were in jeopardy. We spoke to every plumber we could find and most of them told us that well have to dig up the whole street and we are looking at a $20,000 repair that wont be done until spring. Joe Maggio and Mr. Rooter were absolutely our saviors as the were able to downsize the work scope of the project (and the cost) dramatically and get it done in time for closing. They were willing to offer us a money-back guarantee if their plan didnt work they were so confident that they could pull it off. I will never buy another house without calling them for a camera test on the sewer line. HIGHLY recommended.

Called Mr. Rooter because bathroom toilet wouldnt fill. Guy came out and said it was because my pressure valve on water main needed replaced along with my 2 year old expansion tank on my water heater. I agreed to service which cost $1000. I had to call them out again 2 days later because the same toilet wouldnt fill. He came out and replaced the toilet line again and said the brand new line blew due to to him changing the water main pressure valve? This morning I woke up to my 2 year old water heater leaking water all over my basement and the water heater guys said it was due to replacing expansion tank?! Dont use this company, they will tell you things that arent broken need fixed, along with break things that arent broken! I spent over $1600 due to a toilet not filling?

I had a "6 / 10" experience with first technician, and my situation was worse than before he came. His final recommendation for an aqua jet service was noted, while the standard sewer line snake service he performed was unsuccessful. After contacting Mr. Rooter business once I realized my situation was worse, they dispatched Eric W. to my home, free of charge, to take a second look. A good business move, and truly appreciated by me and my family. In my book, this guy ranks a "10 / 10" for his professional demeanor, his knowledge, his ability to get the sewer line moving again, his explanation of the issue to a novice like me. He gave me several recommendations, the reality of my situation, and was honest. He took the needed time with me. Mr. Rooter ... Eric W. is a good one.
