I had been to this shop once before to get the oil changed in one of my cars and had a good experience. So last week, I dropped my other car off to get the oil changed. This shop does a brake inspection when you get the oil changed, and I received a call an hour later telling me that they recommended getting my front rotors resurfaced & new brake pads. They also told me that my front-right caliper had seized up. I was aware that my rotors & pads were due for a change so I was fine with that, but the caliper seizing up sounded a little fishy to me. I was told my two options for the caliper were that they could try to un-seize it for $40, and if that did not work, then they would have to put a new one on for $188. I didnt really feel like I had any other option (calipers are pretty important) so I authorized them to take the caliper off and work on it. When they called to tell me my car was done being serviced, I was told they were unsuccessful in un-seizing the caliper and had to install a brand new one. My car has 100,000+ miles on it and I dont remember the last time my front calipers were replaced, so it is very well possible that it was time to replace my front-right caliper. However, I just find it too much of a coincidence that it seized up during a brake inspection at a shop I had only been to once before. Based on this bad experience I do not expect to go back.

Needed to have my car inspected so I decided to try the East Petersburg Auto Service... my old time mechanic closed his business and I needed a new place to service my car. Very nice welcome.. offered a ride home :) .. that day was into the teens.. so I thought that my search for an honest mechanics was over.. Three hours late I received a call announcing that my car did NOT pass inspection and that repairs for almost $900 were indeed needed.. I was given few seconds to make a decision and when I said that I would have preferred to sleep on the news, well... I was also said that they had no one available to pick me up. I did walk the mile in the extreme cold.. I paid $180 for an oil change, an emission sticker and a failed state inspection and left... only when I found my car parked somewhere in the lot... End of the story is ... I took the car the following day to another mechanics ( recommended for his honesty ) and two hours later my car magically passed the state inspection... cost $30 Sometimes I wonder how small businesses do survive when they treat customers with such arrogance... I suggest everyone that reads this review to avoid the East Petersburg Auto Services.

I have had work done to my vehicles here twice and will not go back again. The first time they replaced a mass airflow sensor in my Jetta and it went bad within a couple days. They claimed it was a faulty part, so I had to take the Jetta back in and they replaced it again. However, it happened a third time and they said it was a coincidence that I had a faulty part twice, so I had to take it in a third time for replacement. This is hard to coordinate when you have a family and you rely heavily on your vehicle. The last time I took my Jeep in for a battery installation and a noise that appeared to be coming from the rear transfer case. They told me the noise was because I needed brakes and rotors in the front. They replaced them for $450 and on the way home the left wheel started smoking and smelling like it was burning. I figured they installed something wrong. The next day I had to take the jeep back in and they told me the caliper went bad and it was a coincidence it happened after they did the work. Pretty sure this would have come up in a test drive after the work was completed. $277 and two many coincidences later, Im never going back.

The radiator in my Subaru blew open last summer and it was either drive it to the dealer or East Pete Auto. Having had not so great experience with service from the Lancaster Subaru dealer I took it to East Pete Auto. They replaced the radiator with a newer Subaru model and informed me of the change. The work was fine and it was fairly quick considering they needed to order the radiator. The repair is holding up fine a year later. Pricing was slightly better than what it would have been from the dealer, and they didnt mess anything else up in the engine bay while performing the repair! I plan on having some other service done at this shop in the very near future.

Quality of work seems to be OK, but theyll abuse you mercilessly on price, all the while telling you how theyre going to try to cut you a break. $10 gasket invoiced at $20. $60 rotor invoiced at almost $150. Expect them to mark up parts by 100% to 150%. If you can get in for service the next day after you call, that should be a screaming sign that somethings wrong. Most decent shops are making appointments at least a week or two out.

I previously used to work on every vehicle I owned, but not any more thanks to Ron and his shop! I have been using their shop for about 2 years now and I have zero complaints. Ron explains everything very well and when he says he will get it done that day, its done that day! Fair prices for great service even though Id pay a little extra due to their honesty, reliability and great service.

Its so hard to find a garage that wont ty to "upsell" a customer with items not really needed just to make a buck, Im glad I found East Petersburg Auto. The staff is professional the service was fast and reasonably priced... they even gave me a coupon for a free lunch at the local pizza restaurant. Will definitely use them again and again.

One of the best places for service in Lancaster PA. I have been having all of my vehicles serviced there for years and received nothing less than prompt professional service. They have worked on my Landrovers and BMWs and saved me quite a bit of money over conventional Franchise Dealers cost of service. Thanks guys...

I am not from around the area and car had broken down. I highly recommend them. Got towed in at 4:30 pm and Ron made sure it got fixed as soon as possible on the same day and for a good price.
