So I went in exactly Sunday Dec 13th. I had an appt with my original hairstylist but I was able to make it to her on time. I then did a Google search and and found Nicoles which had great reviews. The staff was nice but this is not about that. Ive been going to Dominican hair salons for years and never experienced hair loss from a blow dry. So I went in I brought my own condtioner like I always do she washed my hair and then set it. I sat under the dryer for all of 30mins because my hair is so fine I dont need much heat to straighten it. I sat down in the chair and I asked that she blow dry it and pin curl to set it. When she reached up top I had her blow dry all the way to the ends because I realized she wasnt doing that. It was pretty but my ends on top were smooth but my back and sides were not because she didnt smooth all of my hair. She told me I needed a haircut but I get my trims every 6-8 wks like clock work. My ends are naturally dry but when I do my hair I blow dry and can get smooth on my own. I left out and about an hr later my hair was frizzy. So I went out that night and ran into my stylist and she was like what happened to ur hair. I have never left the salon like as if I never went. So I call the next day to let them know my hair didnt last. She said to come on in. So when I sat down in the chair she handed me the phone because I guess the owner or manager wanted to speak to me about my hair she said again that I needed a trim and did I wet my hair. But I told her its not because I need my ends trimmed and why would I wet my hair if I just got it done. I dont waste money. So anyway she blow dried my hair to get it smooth again and when she got to the top I noticed how long she was taking per section which was already too late to say something. So they didnt charge me and I tipped her again for her time. I was very confused the days after because my hair felt very limp, no volume at all it felt like straw. Mind you I take care of my hair and use the best products on my hair. So that was Sunday and Monday I was in the salon but by Thursday when I went to wash my hair because it felt nasty. I washed my hair with my normal shampoo and conditioner and as I brushed my hair it was coming out in thick strands which my hair has never done. My husband was in the bathroom and says it smell like something was burning and it was because my hair was cooked and singed. I have never ever had this happen and now I am scarred from this. If I could leave a picture I would!

I meant to already review this place but Im glad I waited. I went the beginning of October and was worried because I have 4c natural hair and people tend to overdo it with heat or processing to get it straight. One trip could mean severe heat damage and years worth of hair growth lost. Any way I paid $42.00 plus tip which was only pricey because she could see the length and thickness of my hair. Anyway I got a deep condition and blow out and of course it turned out absolutely lovely. Most naturalistas know blow outs look great at first its after when your hair starts shedding or wash day comes when you really see the damage. Well its been 3 months and not only do I have zero damage my hair continued to grow and Ive retained even more length. I didnt feel out of place and the ladies were nice. I highly recommend this place. A side note is that if you want a more technical style it helps to bring a picture because although they do speak English its hard to translate trendy new style ideas.

My gf (mixed race) and I (black) went here to get our hair done while visiting Philly because I saw the reviews here on google. We both got our hair done. The prices are VERY affordable (in my opinion). I spent $70 total for both our hair to be washed, deep conditioned and blowed out. Wouldve been cheaper if we got roller set but were in a rush so couldnt. We both have had some bad experiences at some Dominican and Black hair salons but we were very SATISFIED with this experience. This place is definately worth 5 stars for the location and price. If I lived in the area Id be a regular. I recommend this shop to anyone who is in the area that wants their hair done nicely, in a timely manner and for a good price. The girls are really friendly too!!! In addition to hair, they do nails, pedicures, and eyebrows!

First off let me say that i have never had my hair so soft and manageable!!! I went to nicole after looking online for a salon that would do my hair without a relaxer. Of course i went by for a sneek peak befroe actually getting my hair done. The stylist sitting at the desk was so nice and courteous, I took out my micros and was back in a week.! When i got there it was around noon (1/24/11). The owner greeted me and began in on my fro! She washed me 3times, I opted for conditioner too. After my roller set, Nicole blew ans styled my hair. She was really sweet and gently on the few naps i had lol. The salon vibe here is wonderful, these ladies love their jobds and clients. I will be going back in two weeks for a trim and wash! I HIGHLY recommend trying this place out!!

I AM IN LOVE. I walked into the salon with dyed black hair wanting highlights for my intensely curly hair. Nicole herself brought me the color book and carefully explained the bleaching process to me. I appreciate that, because Im used to going to salons and ppl just grabbing and doing with no explanation. She told Rosa what I was looking for, and a few hours later (black hair is hard to bleach, as Nicole warned me)...MIRACLESSSSSS. It was soft, straight, shiny, and had GORGEOUS caramel highlights throughout. I am absolutely IN LOVE with this salon. The staff is so sweet, and SO TALENTED. Thank you Rosa and Nicole! Just go. DO it. Treat yourself to magic. I walked out of that salon, and ppl have been complimenting my hair ever since.

I absolutely loved this place! They are so reasonably priced and the service is excellent! I got there around 4 pm and there was not a wait at all (not saying that wil always happen) Got my hair washed, deep conditioned and cut for only $35 and I also got my eyebrows waxed for and additional $5. This is a full service salon so they do nails as well. While talking to the girl that did my hair she stated that most of the clients they serve have natural hair so if you have the extra nappy locks and you want the effect of having a fresh relaxer without the chemicals I would definitely give Nicoles a try! I will be returning in about 2-3 weeks to get some highlights done...Im in love! P.S. They also offer free Wi-Fi :-)
