My sewer line backed-up on Christmas Eve and overflowed the basement sink. After calling around and finding everyone else closed, I was able to reach someone at Roto-Rooter. They told me that they were dispatching a technician and I received an email confirmation within minutes. The tech arrived not long after. The technician unclogged the outside sewer line and found that the pipe had shifted and separated from the inside sewer pipe. He used his camera equipment to diagnose the problem and showed me the separation in the monitor, so I was assured he wasnt just guessing or trying to scam me. He also showed me the inside sewer line which is in great shape, so I didnt have to worry that they would have to rip out walls and dig up the floor in my newly refinished basement. The service call was $400, twice what I paid two years ago when I had the same problem, but the last company didnt diagnose the break, just unclogged the pipe that reclogged. The excavation team arrived today as promised and replaced the outside sewer line. Ive had two outside sewer lines break before in my last house. It is an expensive job around $4,000, but I knew Roto-Rooter was in a "reasonable" price range. At least with Roto-Rooter, I have confidence that they will back up their warranty which is five years. The other local plumbing companies I previously used for sewer line replacements failed to get back to me -- even after I had a lawyer write one of them a letter -- when I had some minor leaks through the walls and floor, so I had to hire a separate contractor to fix what they allegedly guaranteed. Everyone at Roto-Rooter was very professional and pleasant in which was a rather painful situation. If you want quality work done quickly and assurance that the work for a big plumbing job will be completed properly, I would recommend Roto-Rooter.

We had a major problem and needed to have our sewer pipe under the garage replaced. We were calling our regular plumber often when the drains would back up and he would get the clog open but when the powder room toilet in the laundry room started to overflow with sewage every time we used water or flushed the other toilet upstairs I knew we needed someone with a lot of experience. I called Roto-Rooter and they were here in an hour. They unclogged the pipe and recommended the camera diagnostic to see what was causing this to happen. Next day they came and did that and saw the problem, the sewer pipe wasnt straight anymore and was clogging up because it wasnt flowing like it should. Yesterday they came and dug a trench from my driveway into the garage and replaced the pipe. The dirt they dug up was piled on my front lawn and I kept thinking about the mess it would leave. When they were finished, it looked like they were never even here!! My lawn looks great, dirt was all put back and cleaned up, and they cemented the garage where they dug it out and it looks great! They were fast and very efficient! The drains in the house are now so much better, and I couldnt be happier!

I was preparing for some planned surgery and was trying to take care of items so my wife would have no problems while I was in the hospital. The drain assembly on the vanity sink in the upstairs bathroom was nearly corroded through; much more than I could handle myself. I called to schedule a visit and was told that someone could be here within the hour. That has never happened to me when scheduling any kind of work! The technician was at my home inside of an hour and saw that special tooling was required to complete the job. He assured me he would return next morning at 8:00 AM with the special tooling needed and would complete the job in short order. The technician appeared exactly at the time promised and completed the job in under two hours. I can easily get spoiled with service and punctuality like this! It was a stressful time for me and Roto Rooter helped ease my mind. They do what they say they will do and do it when they say they will. That is enough to keep me coming back as a customer.

Well, it seems you didnt acquire the proper Philadelphia plumbing & walkway opening permits, and thus no inspector turned out to review your work, yet I was charged for the permits and the cost of acquiring them. I told your workmen I worked for the City. Now one of my executives wants me to file with the city to have your master plumbers license pulled. The work itself looked all right to me, but how do I really know. Thats why an inspector is supposed to review it. And as you know after the plumbing work was done the back-filling was done improperly: not in layers with compaction done after each layer. So that by the following day sections had subsided up to a foot, causing a safety hazard. You did send out a workman in the nasty weather to fill it in some more, after I had shifted some of the material, with pebbles and more cold patch. Currently the drain does seem to be flowing properly now.

Job was a warranty work for a house drain cleaned 5 days earlier. Debris had fallen in pipe and need to be retrieved or pushed to the tank. First technician did not have enough cable to reach tank. He snaked from the farthest cleanout from the tank. He was unable to reach the tank. The follow up Technician, Sam , refused to do anything other than what did not work the first call. He refused to remove a toilet and snake from a different direction closer to the problem. The two lines connect and feed into the same common main. He wasted his time and snaked the same cleanout knowing it would not work rather than take a new approach to solving the problem. It was 5;00 and he just wanted to go home. Sam walked off the job unsolved. Horrible customer service. Tech should be disciplined or fired. He worked harder to not do the job instead of just solving the problem.

Average rating, because while the job got done, it was only because I insisted my technician actually do the work. When he arrived, he seemed set on not taking the job, claiming it couldnt be done, I dont think he wanted to be there? He claimed he couldnt turn water off to my unit, I then found a valve, turned it off and insisted he do the job because I am on a strict project timeline. He then took and saw metal studs, and again tried to claim the job couldnt be done. I walked across the street to the hardware store and bought a drill bit saw to cut a hole in the medal, and again insisted he help get the project done. but from that moment on, when he actually started the project, everything was GREAT! He was proficient, cleaned up after himself, and spent extra time to ensure thered be no leaks. Plus, he was super nice.

First time using Roto Rooter services. Called because of a blocked lateral from the house causing water to back up into toilet and sink. We made an appointment online for a convenient time for us and received a call when the plumber was on his way. John was very courteous and professional. He took the time to explain the problem and show us what was causing the blockage. He was able to fix the problem very quickly and offered us good suggestions to keep it from happening in the future. He gave us his contact information if we have any further questions or issues AND we got a "first time customer" discount. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost, and are very happy to be able to use water in our house again! We would absolutely call them again, but hope we do not have a need!
