I wish I could give 0 stars. The gym is always a mess. I douse myself in Purel when I get to my car after workouts for fear of MRSA. Nothing ever gets wiped down, the equipment, which came out last century, is ripped and broken. The Dumbbells are always a disaster and the dumbbell style hasnt been made since 1992. The owner is a jerk. Myself and a friend had forgotten our badges, most gyms have up to date technology that came out in 2004 that allows you to just say your last name and no worries. Apparently Worlds does not and the owner repeatedly talked down to my friend and I saying its not that hard to remember the badge. I tried to explain to him that it is in my bag which is in my car that my wife had to use. And he continued to talk down saying t is not hard to remember o grab your badge before you leave the house. I was completely offended that this man was talking to me as if I was a child. He made a stink over a badge when he allows anyone to come in for a fee without a badge, just to play basketball, which results in shootings. Look it up. After I confronted him for being rude, he told me to leave. inresponded by telling him to clean this dump which he told me, "why dont you try and do what I did?" Mr. Boyle, if you are bragging that you created that bacterial cesspool, I feel sorry for you. If you are proud of that awful place, then there is something deeply wrong with you. The neighborhood hates you and has told me how rude, and cheap you are and how you are just after making more money. The reviews here state the same. You be proud of your dump. I doubt it will be around much longer.

Me and my friends came to play basketball and we were figuring out how much to pay the man who seems to be the owner and instead he was rude and obnoxious so we asked told him to calm down and instead he started cursing at us and to get the f**k out of the gym and when we where outside another group of guys just came out and said that the owner just kicked them out i am never going to that place again in my life just because of the owner worst person ever if u want a nice gym to go to planet fitness or la fitness is the place to be where its ten dollars a month and their are hot girls who are nice that work their dont go here ever !!!!!!!!

We know its not a perfect world and we know people complain. But Im so surprise by the way people are complaining about the gym. I visit time and time again and I do see the same person, which come to find out is the owner. As me being a young afro american from north philadelphia he always treat me and my friends with a smile and always preach, have a great time while you are here. Even when we leave its the same attitude, saying "Did you guys have fun and hope to see you again" with a smile. I really think some of the people that are writing on the real probaly tried to sneak in and got caught. But we never had a problem and we are an urban crowd.

i have to say this is the worst gym i have ever been to. The equipment is old, and the covers of the benches are all torn.. i dont think the equipment ever gets cleaned, there is an inch of dust on every piece.. i also have to agree with other people who commented about the owner, he definitely has some attitude problems.. my first and last time when i went in, i had to leave because it was so disgusting, there were puddles of sweat on the benches and nothing to clean them with..ugh..i turned around and left, i also gave a feedback to the owner about how disgusting and dirty his place is, and he just started arguing with me...

Okay this gym has a lot of different reviews. I understand why and hopefully this one will help. If you are from the more advanged walk of life, and use to paying 40+ at like a Philadelphia Sports Club or YMCA. This place is probably not for you. If you are use to working out in a "dungeon" style environment, like a Joe Fraziers gym, or a mom and pops youll love it. It has every traditional thing you need, none of the newer fad type stuff. B-Ball court, MMA training, smaller sectioned of studio for yoga, group trainings etc...So is this gym the best? No not by any means, but its not the worst either.

The Worst gym ever. The place is a complete junk. Water leaks are everywhere. They had signs that said 24.99 a month and no contract. Apparently all of that is fake. I told the owner I would like to quit and he said I have to pay for the next 30 days. I paid and 4 months later i found out Im still under contract. The owner was rude and kicked me out. I filed a BBB report, and the owner will not respond. Im planning to file a law suit just because they were dishonest and rude. All the other comments were indeed spot on. They treat us like we are buying a used car.

I never write reviews, ever, but had to write this review to challenge you to think for yourselves. Where are so many unhappy campers are coming from. They are unhappy with life period. Ive always had a pleasant experience. Can the place be a little cleaner and some fresh paint, maybe. But that does not prevent me from getting a good pump. The owner always greats me at the front desk and says "enjoy your workout, and thank you for coming and see you again" when i leave. I like it here. I dont come here to socialize. I come here to build muscle... dropping the mic..

This gym is perfectly fine. There are no roaches and rats in the locker room. The equipment is great. Some people just dont really take care of it and the owner does his best to keep it clean. He really depends on the patrons to clean up after themselves which almost never happens. You also almost never have to wait to use equipment. There are usually several different options for the same exercise. So if you cant improvise your workout, then this isnt the place for you.

Ive been a member here for years. Has the necessary equipment and space, but it is a mess. Never taken care of. Owner is an unreasonable and disrespectful individual. Seems to decide who comes in based on racial profiling. Would never recommend this gym. If planet fitness doesnt suit you, other hardcore gyms in the area would. LOOK ELSEWHERE! It honestly is not a proper gym, shouldve gotten rid of the membership a while back.

I work some pretty offbeat hours and needed to find a gym that could accommodate my schedule. Boyles World Gym in NE Philly accomplished that by being open virtually 24 hours a day Monday through Friday. The equipment is really good and there is rarely a wait to get on a machine you want. The music could be a little better, but if you bring your own CD he will put it on for you.
