First, off I love other zips. I moved here from the DC area and used the zips in College Park all of the time without fail. This is a professionally run operation - you show up and are greeted and of course it costs a fraction of what you will pay elsewhere. When I found out about the cleaners in Pittsburgh, I was legitimately pumped - I made a special trip to the south hills to give them a try. Unfortunately, this zips was not up to snuff. The reason for my poor review is, of course, the terrible quality of the service I received. I dropped off tons of dress clothes to be dry cleaned and more than 3/4 still have stains I was seeking to have removed. Its literally as though they were not dry cleaned at all. I called to complain and they said if you dont call within a day or two of getting your clothes back then it is too late. As an aside this seems like a dumb strategy for dry cleaners - if they think theyre going to lose business from people who wear dry cleaned stuff - get new stains on it and then call to complain - I mean cmon. Oh well. I still love zips but I wont be returning to the one in Pittsburgh. Instead I will be returning to my go to expensive dry cleaners that actually does good work on stains.

I came here a few times drawn by the prospect of fast turnaround... big mistake. It seems to be the only thing these people care about, even to the exclusion of actually cleaning clothes. My latest experience had me picking up 2 garments with LIGHT soiling, and here they both had "Im sorry" tags, which I suppose indicates they werent able to hold up their end of the bargain and clean my clothes because both pieces were still completely soiled. They didnt even bother trying to refund for a service they didnt render. In addition to this there have been multiple instances of minor annoying miscommunications, such as staff not military pressing my clothes or using starches when specifically requested and then excusing themselves by saying "oops the tag mustve fallen off". Deplorable, avoid.

Horrible experience! I was rushed as if I was just a number, not a person. I also noticed that they speak to their employees like theyre illegal immigrants. They treat the employees like trash. One guy there was trying to get a job and he told me that all they said to him at the interview was reliability and dependability. He said they promised him a job and kept him hanging for four weeks(when he couldve gotten other work). Then never called him. He said he came in and spoke with the owner Shirley and was promised the "chance" to prove himself. Never contacted. His experience explains mine as a customer. I wish I could rate this place a "0." The Banksville location ripped one of my shirts (end of August), then after bringing it in and giving them a second chance they ripped two more of my shirts (beginning of September). Ive been in contact with the manager, Bob, since September and he kept telling me the owner is "working on it" in regards to how shell handle my 3 shirts ($79.95/shirt). Just called today and they arent doing anything about it. Two of three shirts were brand new. Ive been a customer for almost 2 years - averaging $30 every 3 weeks - and this experience is unacceptable. The store owner is terrible and never reached out to me ONCE. Not ONCE! Garbage company.

My husband took his pants for dry cleaning to Zips in Banksville for the first time, he picked them up the next day. We were so excited and happy about the price and how fast he got back his stuffs. When we checked the pants we were so disappointed, they were not ironed and dont even think were cleaned either! the pants looked really bad and the bottom of one of the legs in one of the pants is messed up now and we have to fix it. We were thinking to take it down there so that they can fix it, but we are really not so sure that we trust them to do that.

Ive been suspecting that they dont clean clothes brought in - I mean really clean them, unless you specifically tell them there are stains. Ive gotten down jackets back still wet/dam. Ive gotten dress pants back that smell like a mix of old sweat & air freshener. Ive gotten pants back 1/2 ironed and wrinkled on the lower layer. Weve given them couple chances to redo our garments. Ill be doing more laundry and ironing myself before Id take our clothes back to an unfriendly unclean dry cleaner.

I am always happy with the outcome at ZIPS and their pricing!! If there was one thing that I could change it would be a crew that was a bit more customer service oriented...at least a smile and some pleasantries when dropping off and picking up our pieces instead of feeling like it is a bother to do either. Pleased that they did point out that I had a piece that should not be dry-cleaned because it would change the texture.

I was so excited to see there was a Zips on Banksville Road as Ive heard good things from a friend (in DC). I went for the first time last week. The staff was friendly and the price was extremely affordable but the cleaning was subpar. I am disappointed in the service as I took 2 dresses that do not look like they were actually cleaned. I will not be back.

I love Zips Dry Cleaners and Im so happy it finally came to Pittsburgh. I go here because of their prices but this location is also wonderful because they really will take care of you and your stuff. I bring in a lot of odd items and they always find a way to accommodate me. The owner of the shop also works here and shes really great!
