NONONO!!! THEY RUINED MY WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST REED BEFORE USING THEM We were using elegant catering for their rentals (not food), and paying them through Green Apple Barter Trade, a trade company in which they also participate. We had our consultation with them 5 months prior to the wedding date, sat down with the owner, discussed all of our options choosing our tent, tables, chairs, linens, etc... also discussing that payment was 100% green apple (excluding linens, and 6% sales tax, which we would have to pay cash). As we wrapped up our meeting the owner said he would get a quote to us within 3 days. Well, weeks went by before I made contact with them.... well tried to anyways. He never got back to me! weeks.. MONTHS went by with regular attempts to contact him with no response. Leaving urgent messages with the office for him to please get back to me. Finally, JUST THREE WEEKS UNTIL OUR DATE, I call again and his office manager gave me a quote stating that they are no longer doing business with us on Green Apple and that we owed them $9,000 cash! Needless to say I was infuriated... I was not very forgiving at this point. I demanded to speak with the owner at this time and he was standing in the room with her but still would not speak with me. They said they would not have further contact with me without the $9,000 payment (cash portion) in full. They then proceeded to CANCEL OUR EVENT with just 3 weeks to go. Their reason being that we had too many complications, that we had cancelled with them multiple times, that they believed we would not be satisfied no matter what, that we did not make our down payment at initial consultation. The only complication we had was a change of location for them, nothing but a simple address change! as for the rest of their reasons it was not even remotely true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our date is October 19, 2013 and we are now currently scrambling to find another company to do our rentals on Green Apple trade... with just 3 weeks notice! I am in shock that this company is even a float. They are without a doubt completely unreliable and unprofessional.

We hired elegant catering for our wedding because they were recommended by our wedding site. I later found out that this is because the host at the wedding site is good friends with the owner of this catering company. I wish that we would have had the opportunity to change caterers. The food was great, and everyone raved about how good it was. This was not the problem. The problem was that they do not return phone calls. I called two weeks before my wedding, and then multiple times after, to give a final head count and to get my total price. They did not call me back until three days before the wedding, and then expected me to hurry up and run out there with a payment. This I could have dealt with. At the reception, the thing that really made me angry was that their staff cut the cake for us and put it out before all of our guests were even served their meal. We wanted to cut the cake and definitely wanted to wait until everyone had a chance to eat!!! I was very upset by this. They also had told us that our stations would be spread out around the area so that people would not have to wait in a long line. This also did not happen. People had to wait a very long time for their food and the whole serving process took a few hours. This should have been set up differently. I would absolutely not use this catering company again, and would not recommend them to a friend. If you are considering using them, dont. Keep looking. Even though the food is good, their professionalism and service stinks

Food was good, but we ran into a few issues. For one, they can be very difficult to get a hold of. You may not hear back for a few days. They seemed to go through a number of different employees, so I had to repeat the same information multiple times. I received a call just a few days before the wedding to go over what food we ordered. Even though we had sampled and picked out our food months ago, there was some confusion over all of the items on our menu & I had difficulty remembering what we picked so long ago. This was a bit stressful a few days before the wedding. At the wedding, our cake was not cut and served to guests, we did not have the full bar we paid for or signature drinks and the bartender was not knowledgeable about wine (even though our wedding was at a winery). I had to answer many questions from servers and felt like a wedding coordinator on our wedding day. When I had brought some of these issues up to elegant catering, they were defensive and unapologetic. They noted that they just don’t do weddings and have other aspects of their business to run. In an email, I asked for reimbursement for the cost of bar supplies since we didn’t have a full bar (but paid for one) and received no response. I recommend more of a focus and effort when it comes to weddings.

Had heard good things about this caterer and scheduled a sit-down with the owner so that my fiance and I could meet with them about our upcoming wedding. We were promised a proposal outlining the estimate of everything we discussed within a 3 day period. After a week of nothing, we contacted the company and was advised that none of the associates could assist us, but that the owner would call us back that same day. Phone call never returned!!! Two more call attempts and an email attempt and nothing. We are now 4 weeks from the promised proposal date and we have still received NOTHING - AND NO RETURNED COMMUNICATIONS!!! We made one last call and were given MAJOR ATTITUDE because we expressed concerns and it was finally admitted that NO WORK had been done on our proposal!!!! As other caterers were awaiting our final decision, my fiance and I decided not even to waste additional time waiting on this apathetic catering company. ***FAMILY OWNED MEANS NOTHING WHERE THIS COMPANY IS CONCERNED!!! Do not expect to be treated on a one-on-one basis as you would with other family-owned businesses. If that is how they conduct business and treat POTENTIAL clients, I would hate to see how they treat individuals whove already put down the deposit and signed the contract!!!!

We were married at Greendance Winery in Mt. Pleasant just this past spring. Unfortunately, if you choose Greendance for your venue, you must also choose Elegant Catering for your catering services. They were a nightmare from the start. Heres a list of just some of our complaints: -Our first estimate that they sent to us was $3k higher than the verbal. -They tried to charge us additional fees and blamed it on the winery. -They screwed up our menu 3 times. -At our tasting we were propositioned to join a pyramid scheme. -At the wedding, the coordinator did not even show. -We had no head table, our cake was not displayed, our guestbook was not displayed, and the dance floor was not cleared as discussed. -Catering staff was not available where agreed to be. -Staff was witnessed carrying take out containers at the end of the night, yet we received little to no food. -The bartender set out a tip jar even though we already paid gratuity and it was an open bar. -Some of our guests were embarrassed because catering staff sat on the back of a truck and laughed at them while they danced. -Items that we provided, such as linens and lanterns, were damaged and thrown in the trash.
