"I have been a customer of PCW Computer in Warwick in the past. They definitely need to improve on customer relations. They are rude, abrasive and dismissive to customers. They are disinterested in the concerns and needs of each customer. I was dismissed as someone they were not interested in helping at all regardless of the fact that i was interested in purchasing another computer and upgrading the desktop i needed help with. My questions were not answered and i was told they would get to my computer when they were ready even though this was during a time of day when they were not busy [just me and another person were the only customers in the building and the other person was heading out the door when I arrived]. They are not computer literate. Overall they are not very good at fixing older computers that require the retrieving of lost data. I wish I had known this before I sent my desktop there the other day! My last experience with PCW was so negative that I have found another local computer business for repairs and upgrading which is much more customer oriented and knowledgeable. I will definitely do my homework by reading Online reviews of local companies to avoid making another mistake." Parts of this review were taken from a previous posting by an individual that had the same experience that i encountered. I felt it important to repost that review and add comments regarding my experience. It is unfortunate given the climate of todays business success rate that employees are not better chosen to create a positive customer experience!

Several months ago, I took my laptop to PCW in order to have the DC jack stabilized. From the way it it was behaving, I could tell the jack had simply loosened; as far as I could tell, it needed only a drop of solder in the right place. The fellow charged me over $200 because, he said, the jack had come completely disconnected and needed to be replaced in its entirety. When I went back to get the machine, he showed me the jack as he "had found it" in the computer. From examining it, it seemed obvious to me that he had forcibly snapped it off the motherboard in order to justify his claim that it was disconnected. Rather than argue (and hoping that the he in fact had fixed it), I simply paid the money and left. A few weeks later, the jack had come loose again. I tried to stabilize it myself, but it was pretty clear that it needed to be fixed by someone who knew what they were doing. I asked around, and took it to a shop that had a solid reputation. When the second shop examined the laptop, they pretty much confirmed my suspicions about what the guy at PCW had done to the machine; they told me that the motherboard had been "broken" in a way that they had never seen before. They also told me that the DC jack had been soldered into place in a "jury-rigged" way that made no sense whatsoever. They had to replace the entire motherboard (which cost some money); the difference is that they were very clear with me regarding what they had to do, and why they had to do it. I certainly never again will use PCW for any reason.

I went to PCW Computer a few months ago and they fixed my Mac screen, they were the cheapest around and i need it fixed quickly so I figured I would give them a shot, soon realized that it was the biggest mistake Ive made. After getting my computer back, the glue that they glued the screen on with was all clumpy on the outskirts of the screen. They didnt take the time to trim the excess glue off which is a very easy thing to do but i looked the other way and was happy that they had fixed the screen. Roughly 2 months later, the top of my screen started to loosen and come off, so I took it to them and asked if they could fix it for me, they said yes and I came back the same day. When i came back, George told me that the screen had another crack in it and that it was already there, which it was not, he must of did it trying to fix the screen, so i told him i wanted a new screen and he agreed to do it for what it costs him to get the screen, $20. I then picked the laptop up once again and took it home. 3 days after i got the laptop back, the whole screen came unglued and was hanging off. I will never be going back to this place. They have horrible customer service, they are lazy and sloppy with their work and they are hacks.

Wow! I run my own small home based computer business. Ive never dealt with PCW personally, but I ran out of thermal cooling pads and called to see if they sold them. I seen the poor reviews, but after all; I just want to purchase thermal pads which I need to finish a job, so I wasnt really going to have to deal with them. Guess what? Wow! How can they stay in business? This is how it went... After 12 rings... PCW... Good afternoon, I have a quick question... Do you sell the thermal pads used for cooling ics? Awkward 10 seconds of silence... Click! Really! Was my question too difficult to answer? Could they not verbally say.. sorry we dont sell them. Was it because the thermal pads are so cheap, that its just not worth it to them? I wish I had an answer, but THEY HUNG UP ON ME. Really, how can a business be that rude to people and still operate. That I think I do know. Its because of idiots like me. Because, even after seeing the complaints, I was still going to do business with them. Please, Please! Dont! They do not deserve to still be in business!!! 07/08/2013

My experience was being charged for diagnostics when none were needed. I know enough to tell him what to replace, I had to have an apple authorized repair center do the work though,. At least a few of the parts were not oem and noticeably inferior some used as well all at a high enough markup to purchase a non-working comp for parts and have them all. Ribbon cable to the Hd and low light/ ir sensor broke the 1st week and it was half the width of the one in my 13" MBP . All in all I was charged $180 in parts I priced at $30 max oem new so a 600% mark up on parts not itemized in the invoice. another for the literal 15minutes it would take a semi-novice like me to install. sincerly unhappy. Ive had 2 experiences with them now and each time was as good as you could ask for. Great staff, very prompt work and extremely fair prices. The 2nd time I brought my comp in they diagnosed it, fixed it, replaced my faulty RAM card that I purchased from a sketchy eBay seller, put the old one back in, and they did not even charge me one dime.. I dont know that any other spot would have done that. Time is money and there time is valuable yet they were considered of me the customer. I highly recommend!

I brought my iMac in to be serviced because the LCD needed replacing and it was too old for apple. It took them 4 months to get the computer back to me, always claiming they kept getting the "wrong parts." I finally had enough and asked for my iMac back. I got it back to find a TAPED UP not screwed hack job. The webcam that once worked didnt, the cd rom drive sometimes worked. I opened it myself to fix it to find massive amount of tape where things should have been soldered or screwed. Never again.
