I have had terrible experience with Planet Fitness. I joined the gym on a monthly membership. I had it updated to black card holder member after a couple of months. They gave a me piece of paper to sign which basically had name, upgrade costs and signature! Later on when I went to cancel membership they told me I can not cancel it for 6 months because black card membership is yearly thing. I had to argue with the staff that they did not tell me this or the piece of paper I signed for upgrading had no mention of this, the staff person just said he will not be able to cancel it. So I asked him if I can cancel it now and they can bill me for six months. The person said that I will have to come in person or send a letter a month before membership expires!!!! I was not able to cancel the membership and now have a reminder on my phone for a month before it expires! I can not believe how they cheat you with your money. It is most horrible and unethical way to do things. Most of gyms are terrible with canceling memberships but planet fitness has taken this to entirely different level. Word of advice is dont try to save few bucks and join planet fitness. There are other gyms around which are affordable and at least some what ethical. I will never ever join this gym again. I would give this a negative rating but unfortunately google hasnt caught up with that system yet lol.

I must admit I was dubious joining Planet Fitness, but I am immensely pleased so far! The gym is a lot bigger than I expected. There are plenty of machines available, even at their busiest times. Its always very clean, lots of staff who are there to help you. The locker rooms are also very nice and even have full, clean showers! Fantastic atmosphere as well. Theyre open 24/7 also, which I think is new but is really great. Some precautions I am taking, however, due to other concerns are the following: I opened a new checking account specifically for Planet Fitness (due to their notorious reputation to failing to stop withdrawing from your bank account) that I can close when if I ever cancel my membership. I also bring my own lock for lockers and never leave valuables in my car. Something I else I noticed about this gym: there is virtually no gender separation here. Verdae boulevard is also a nice area and its super convenient for me. Loving Planet Fitness!

Do yourself a big favor and run fast away from this place to get in better shape with a lot less stress! The staff obviously are clueless and either dont have integrity or just dont care.... most likely not. I have been getting double billed for months and each month I called to notify them. I have been out of town. Each said they had it taken care of and should show next billing. Well, it didnt. Talked to manager today and told me there were no notes in the system of my calls. No surprise. Told me he would call back after speaking to GM. Within 5 minutes called back to say he canceled but wouldnt refund me, especially the "membership fee" for this month for additional $39! I dont believe or trust them. Going to the bank to make sure they cant touch anymore of my cash. As a disabled vet on a limited income, I dont need that. This organization is just pure greediness.

Amazing gym! These other reviews are just angry people who didnt pay attention or people who leave their valuables visible in the front seat of their car and it gets broken into. They let you cancel by coming in or sending a certified letter if you are out of state (certified so everyone has a receipt of the letter and proof of cancellation)...I know because I come in and go as I travel from Greenville to other cities. Staff is awesome, gym is super clean and they truly tell you everything to expect with your membership, no gimmicks!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! MULTIPLE CAR BREAK-INS in the parking lot!! My window was smashed in and my purse was stolen from the car in broad daylight. Come to find out that this has been happening for months. They did not warn the members or even bother installing video cameras in the parking lot. This gym is clean, the equipment is new, and the staff is really friendly. Its just not worth worrying about being robbed in the parking lot!

This has been a very well run gym since I started there after switching from the Wade Hampton location, which was also good, but I switched due to logistics from where I live to the gym. The Verdae location has a very good trainer, Mrs.West, who has helped me immensely in the areas I need to concentrate on. I could recommend it, especially being that there is no contract, as some other gyms have, & the price is reasonable.

Some of the staff is friendly not all.there have been times I have walked Into planet fitness and I two of the women and and the black guy that was at the front desk signing people in early this morning is just rude but the young stockey white guy on first shift that ware glasses and the young black on third through the week that ware glasses,are very helpful.when theres any questions these guys are very helpful

My wife and I are both truck drivers and get to visit a lot of different Planet Fitness locations throughout the US. This location is buy far the worst one Ive experienced. The mens room was dirty and nasty. The facility is older and very small inside. The only redeeming quality was the guy behind the counter was nice and professional.

Planet fitness is by far the most crooked gym Ive ever been a member of they are already over priced and they just bill you whenever they feel necessary for their account sometimes 2-3 times in a month then to boon the charge ridiculous "club fees" multiple times a year wish I could give negative stars

Clean and the staff are great. My husband goes 2x a day and they get to know you there. Its only crowded during the expected times (early morning/lunch/after work). And it does get pretty hot in there. If you sign up, the black card is worth it for the massage chairs alone.

I really enjoy this gym. Having a membership has helped me to stay motivated. I enjoy going to a gym where I do not feel intimidated or judged. Facility very clean. Friendly staff. They greet you coming in and tell you to have a good day when you leave. Highly recommend.

The gym itself is well suited for the "average" individual just trying to be a bit more active. No intimidation whatsoever. However, trying to reach them by phone is a nightmare! They can never hear you and you get disconnected every time you call. Very frustrating.

Its NOT a bodybuilders gym whatsoever....but a good place for general fitness & work-outs. They do have some arcane rules that I dont understand; however, its nuttin to preclude choosing Planet Fitness as your gym. The member rates are GREAT!!

The employees are very friendly and helpful. Love going there knowing Ill get a warm welcome. Its a great place to exercise! The only thing that I dont like is that there isnt much room to do floor work. Other than that I love it!
