If youre looking for an honest cleaner, keep looking. I was price shopping for house cleaners on Friday July 27th while driving back from VA to SC because my house closing was delayed a day. We had planned on cleaning the house ourselves on Sat but due to the delay we were no longer able to do so. I called Royal Maids and reached one of the owners of the company. I told her about my house, it has 4 bdrms, 2baths, a kitchen, living room, dining room and a den. A total of 1500 heated square feet. She gave me a rate of $180 to clean the inside of my house & did not mention any time limits. While the truck was being loaded Saturday my wife and her friends helped with the light stuff and lightly cleaned the house as we emptied each room. Saturday evening we all drove to VA. On the afternoon of July 31st she called me and tried to extort an additional $180 for the job. Perhaps she thought because she waited until the last minute to contact me that I wouldnt have any other options but to pay her before my tenants moved. Perhaps her workers thought they could get paid more by claiming the job was bigger than it really was. I dont know. She claimed when her workers went into the house they called her immediately to say the job was going to take longer than the 3 hours she told them it was going to take. An honest business owner who discussed a time limit with me wouldve contacted their client to advise me of the situation and to get authorization to begin the work and for the extra charges. That wasnt done here because Royal Maids is not an honest company. I told her you quoted me $180 to CLEAN the inside of MY WHOLE HOUSE and that’s what I expect your people to do. She said she’s not going to send her people back tomorrow unless I agreed to pay her an additional $180. I told her what she was doing was a bait & switch and unless she was going to finish the job she agreed to do at the rate she agreed to do it at, that her services were no longer needed and her employees were to leave immediately and that’s what they did, leave. On her website its posted, SATISFACTION GUARANTEE POLICY - If you are not satisfied with your house cleaning call within 12 hours and we will be glad to rectify any problems free of charge. Refunds are not available. Apparently this is not true because she refused to rectify my problem when we spoke on the phone and after I sent an email. Royal Maids tried to take advantage of my family. The second cleaner I hired took pictures of the house and questioned if any professional cleaning was done at all. Keep in mind Royal Maids claims two people were there cleaning for three hours. Do not let these people into your home or business. To top things off she wants to be paid in full and submitted 2 statements, which were a bunch of lies written up by her employees, to my credit card company to have her $180 charges reinstated which Im disputing. Im in the process of getting additional statements myself that will prove her two statements are lies. There are good honest cleaners out there, this is not one of them.

Terrible!!!! Hired for a "deep clean" of the house and when I came home I was shocked to see the quality of their work. 2 people and 3 hours to clean not even half of my house before they left the job unfinished (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, formal dining room, and laundry room were not cleaned)! Even the areas that they supposedly cleaned looked as though they just quickly wiped over them. The shower still had some discoloration on the floor where we stand (I usually have it back to white with bleach and a brush in 5 minutes) , mirrors still streaked (streak free was checked off), fan blades were still dusty (only dusted the blade on the bottom and not the glass, top, or where the hardware attaches the blade)..... I could keep going on for paragraphs!!! We hired Royal Maids to help us get things back to where we used to keep them because we havent had the time to do the detail work with a newborn, full-time jobs, and my wife is also a full-time nurse practitioner student! We have a lot on our plate and had all the hopes that this would be a great experience and continue to use them on a bimonthly basis. Why do they ask for square footage of the house if they are not going to cover it? We have a 3 bedroom 2 bath home and only a third of it was cleaned!!! We did not complain to the company but from reading the reviews it would have been a waste of my time and effort. First chances are everything to me and if you cant get the job right the first time there is no second chance! As a born and raised local I will continue to use my word of mouth to let my friends and anyone who happens to be looking for a house cleaning service know about my experience.

Speaking for myself & my co-workers, we are all very conscienctious, hardworkig people. Royal Maids has very high standards & loyal employees. I have had great compliments, tips & recommendations with every team member I have worked with. I challenge any cleaning service to accomplish what we do on an hourly basis at the same price that can do better! I find it quite pathetic that another cleaning service, the owner in fact, came in fraudulently to slander our owners & emplyees. We certainly do not have the time or malice to waste our time on such ridiculous claims. This person came in for one day just to try to gain clients & ascertain what her competition was. Good luck! I will not waste any more time or energy on such a negative, stupid person. We know who you are, btw! Try working as hard as we do & you may succeed at something! Or you can go get a mani/pedi which you seem to have time for and concoct some more litigious schemes. You may have to translate this into spanish or whatevr language that you are literate in, if any? I speak 3 languages...try again. 3 degrees according to your application. None of them taught you grammar, business ethics &/or management skills. Perhaps you should sue your, "Schools for an improper education!" In response to the Flynn’s reviews; I was the team lead for your cleaning. I am sorry you are dissatisfied with the service we provided, but am surprised by the comments that have been left regarding the cleaning service we provided. In our defense I must point out a couple of key points. • We at Royal Maids work each room to exacting standards, and will not rush through a cleaning just to be able to say we completed the entire home. The three hours allotted was insufficient for the amount of work that needed be performed. • Mrs. Flynn stated she did not do a walk through with me, however, that is incorrect. She did do a walk through and signed off on the cleaning. • After Mrs. Flynn reviewed our work, she fully understood that we could not complete the entire home within the booked three hours due to the amount of work required. We discussed booking more hours at another date to complete the undone rooms, and she agreed that a Bi-Weekly cleaning would be best. She agreed that this would have allowed us to complete the unfinished rooms and then perform every other week upkeep. Upkeep visits should only be 1-1.5 hours. • Mrs. Flynn also kindly tipped us.
