Customer service at the front counter was great. They were friendly, professional, and made the sign up process easy. While standing there I did hear a phone call answered to which they explained that you cant cancel your membership by phone or computer, you have to come in person. Not horrible but something to to consider when youre forced to do an automatic bank draft for payment. We went only for the pool today so most of my review is based on that. The pool was ridiculous. There was minimal room for free swim, the water only going to 2 feet. The lap lanes were taken the entire time we were there and there was only 3 or 4. The "therapy pool" is where they hold classes such as kids swim class and water aerobics. The handful of adults wanting to use the therapy pool was stuck on one small wall area while these classes were held back to back. Bottom line Employees were nice. Facilities were a joke.

As a mother who attends the Y, Im disappointed. At the pool the other day, one of the staff told a young mother to take her nursing child to the restroom, that she could not feed her baby near the pool. She was on one of the chairs, covered modestly, keeping an eye on her older child in the pool. She was not doing anything but FEEDING HER BABY. Tennessee state law protects breastfeeding mothers. The staff was in the wrong. I hope she reported them to management. The changing rooms/restrooms are gross (to put it lightly) and are no place to feed a baby. As a facility who claims to promote healthy lifestyles and healthy youth, they sure were quick to dismiss a mom simply giving her child the best start in life. I wonder if they would have done the same to a mother feeding her child a bottle.

The Clarksville YMCA pales in comparison to the other YMCAs in the state. It is singlehandedly the worst place to work out in the world (or at least in the state of TN). If Satan had a choice to work out here or in a Ballys (Im not sure if that is the correct spelling, but I dont really care) he would probably choose the latter. The management is sub-par and under qualified at best. The employees are both surly and apathetic. Rules are present but not enforced by employees. If you are interested in a terrible place to work out, then look no more because this could quite possibly be it. This might also be a great place to get a staph infection as well. Long story short: dont go here.

Darren I really think you may need to seek another gym. Sounds to me as if you have a problem with Mexicans and kids which may I add is racism. I used to be a member/staff of this ymca and loved every second of it. The members are great and the staff is amazing. Kids are not allowed to roam free in any area of the y. If you see that and let a staff person know I can promise you they will correct the problem. Just so you and everyone else knows the weight floor is one of the best in Clarksville! Also one last thing the YMCA is a Christian Organization that accepts all types of race, religion, ect.... Kids are kids reguardless if they have ADD, ADHD anything. Have a little more respect.

Ive been a member of this Y since September of this year, and Im so happy with it. I have two kids, ages 3 and 5 and I can assure anyone reading this they are NOT allowed to roam in the free weight area! The classes are very challenging, there are a lot of options for kids, they offer Parents Night Out every so often on weekends; its a great family atmosphere. As far as I have experienced, the staff is professional and courteous. I am disappointed to read above about the lady being asked to move because she was breastfeeding, I think that is horribly rude, but it doesnt surprise me given the culture we live in. But other than that, I highly recommend this place.

This company was without a doubt the worst people I have ever worked for. It is also the worst gym I have ever been to. First off their camp manager is a worthless individual who cant even keep to a schedule that she writes herself. The employees are treated like dog crap and are never told what is going on. If you ask a question you will be looked at like your stupid. I was also told I was going to be hired as a Supervisor for the day camp but instead was just a regular camp counselor. The pool manager who doubles as the camp director is the most unprofessional person and dishonest person I have ever worked for.

It was 90degrees outside, and the childcare staff mistakenly left my two year old outside unattended. Thankfully, I happened to be picking her up moments after she was left, but who knows how long she would have gone unnoticed if I was still working out! I talked to both staff and management about the incident, and I didnt even get an apology for what happened. In fact, the only thing Becky did was tell me shed look over the video and speak to her staff, but the next day I discovered the staff wasnt informed of what happened and how to prevent it in the future. This whole situation is totally unacceptable.

There are ALWAYS some folks who can find fault with a pot of gold. I have been going to the YMCA on Hillcrest for more than 10 years. The facility and staff have NEVER been anything less than friendly and professional. To those disgruntled folks I would just say that nothing is perfect, but the YMCA strives to make it that way. So instead of posting a petty grievance on the internet, why dont you share your thoughts with the staff and try to be a help. For the money and and good company, the YMCA is the best you are going to find. Keep up the good work YMCA!

I just wanted to say the ymca is great people listen to u and try to help u as much as they can. I feel this guy daren that posted something about mexicans talking in there, well idk if u have any manners but u can refer them as hispanics or latinos. It does not mean bc one speaks spanish they are automatically mexicans. By the way if you were wondering, i am not mexican. Oh one more thing dont talk about ADD kids because that is just wrong, they are just happy kids that makes one smile by the questions or comments that they make.

Working out at the Clarksville YMCA has been challenging. 4 and 5 year olds children are free to roam in the dumbbell area, Mexican parents just in full on conversation. A van load of ADD kids will ask you silly questions right in the middle of your set. Oh and motorcycles are encouraged to park and block bicycle parking, because it takes up less space. It is even closer to the door than handicapped. No one manages the weight floor and your kids are free to do just about anything. At least a circus has a ring leader!

Weight area too crowded. Equipment not lubricated often enough in areas needed (weight guide-bars, etc.). When the staff is asked about this the reply is, "its scheduled". Scheduled and completed are NOT THE SAME. How bout a little supervision. I wish there was a gym closer to my house. Also, it does not take long to realize the staff are treated poorly. If working conditions were better perhaps they would complete scheduled tasks. However, for the most part - they are friendly.
