I found my #1 "go-to" auto people for all things cars in Clarksville. I needed to replace my brake pads for several weeks and, of course, knowing nothing about cars, working 12-hr night shifts in Nashville and neglecting my car, I waited until my car made ugly noises to get them checked out. I always drove past this store and just something about the appearance made it "friendly" looking. I dont know if its the name of the store, the color green and blue, or maybe I saw balloons outside of it once, but I thought maybe Ill give it a try. I called last week to get an appointment in bc with my hectic schedule, between sleep and work, theres no time for anything else. I called and spoke to Will and he was very courteous, friendly, and accommodating to situation. I wasnt able to get an appointment in (called Thursday) but he said if I can, just to drop off the car on Saturday. Well I was off for 2 days and didnt really think much of my car, forgot to drop it off, and didnt touch it until I had to go back to work. Wednesday comes and I just thought maybe Ill show up and see if I can just drop off my car while my coworker/friend takes me to work and Ill pick it up whenever they finish if they have free time to work on it. They told me it would be $460ish bc they have to replace my front rotors too (I figured bc I drove so long with no brake pads) and they suggested I drain the brake fluids. I just said yes to everything bc it needed to be done anyways. Next day around 10am my boyfriend calls them and asks when theyll be done so he can pick it up before he leaves to go kayaking so I can have it for work later and they said it was already done! So apparently I was told (by said boyfriend), I had good news and bad news. Good news was that my car was done way earlier than we anticipated and costed $370 instead (almost $100 less than what we were told)! Bad news: I had work so I couldnt go kayaking lol. Thanks again so much Honest-1! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone! I may have to call them soon bc my windshield is cracking too xD

Being from out of town and in need of auto repair, I began looking on the internet for a reputable, respectful, fair, creditable and upright auto mechanic in the Clarksville area that I could trust to do work on my car. That is what I found at Honest - 1 Auto Care. Wayne, one of the service advisors was very helpful in determining what my needs were in regard to the problems that I was encountering with my vehicle. It is an older car that we use as our tow vehicle, which they easily could have ripped me off if they had a desire to. They did a diagnostic scan and determined what I needed to solve the check engine light soon and did a visual inspection to reach a decision as to what was needed with my suspension. They stuck to their price estimates (which were fair). At no time did they try to pressure me into having a service done that I did not need. Tim, the general manager, was there if he was needed, however, he did not micromanage his service advisors and let them do their jobs professionally, as they were full of knowledge and willing to share. Ashley was another service advisor that brightened up the service area with her smile and courteous manner. Then last but not least was the star of the show - Gordon was the man that actually made it all happen. He was our mechanic. Very personable and was very anxious to show my wife and I the parts that were removed to show the condition that they were in. Very knowledgeable and we learned from him this day. We felt that we have known these folks forever. The friendly atmosphere, clean customer waiting area with complimentary snacks and beverages made it a nice experience. At the end of the visit, oreo cookies and a bible verse was left on the front seat along with a flashlight. I highly recommend this establishment for anyone seeking the same experience that I had.

My first time useing these guys I had a ok experience, I had to have my waterpump, power steering pump, and I opted for to have my exhaust replaced replaced. They said they could do it in a day. It took 3,(they did loan me a vehicle for those 3days at no charge) the ps pump they were going to use was rebuilt not new and it was bad so they had to get one from their warehouse. they tried 3 or 4 until they got a good one . Also I had Flowmaster exhaust system that was rusted out that I wanted replaced they said no problem they could get me another one same kind gave me the price I said do it then when I came to get my truck they then said it was a knock off Flowmaster exhaust that they put in because they didnt know until they took off my old ones that I had Flowmaster, I was a little upset at first but the truck sounded ok so I just went with it and who knows how long it would have took to get that re-done, so I spent close to 1800 to have all this done. I just called to get a rough estimate to change out some ball joints and they said "we dont give estimates over the phone, you need to make an appointment to have our tech check it out, we wont know until he checks and thats going to run $80" okay here is my problem with that, first I dont have to have them done. I just wanted to do some preventative maintenance so I feel like they are trying to con me into giving them extra money just to tell me it doesnt need done. Second they know exactly what it takes and how much it costs to do the job, they have a nice program that calculates all that for them. At this point I am done with them

I wish I could give it negative stars. Went in to have them check my car because my engine light came on and temp gauge was high- but my car was not overheating at all. 1.5 hours later, they came back with a diagnosis and a $4800.00 estimate to "necessary" repairs on my car- a time chain, 02 sensors, and spark plugs plus labor. Called around to another mechanic and had him look at it. All was needed was the temperature sensor to be replaced and that runs about $30.00, and takes less than an hour to repair. I shouldnt be surprised at Honest-1, however. I am a single woman who doesnt have a technical degree in car mechanics. So, naturally, I need help with car repairs from time to time. They must have thought I was a total idiot thinking I was going to dish out a few thousand dollars blindly without doing other research. But this is how many mechanics operate and Honest-1 is no different. Im sure its fine to take in your car to them for an oil change or something simple. but AVOID them for repairs. They were nice to me, but I would rather have someone treat me poorly to my face than try to take advantage of me with fake kindness. Work with some integrity. I wrote a similar review on their website but I doubt theyll show it there. All their other reviews are 5 stars. If all jobs are 5 star quality on their website, always be wary of that business. The guy at the front desk told me to keep my estimate in case I decide to come back or use it for another mechanic-you know what I am going to use that piece of paper for? Wiping up their bullshit.
