I completely agree with another reviewer when she says : "Not everyone should be in the hair business.1 the color supervisor are rude..2 they are never around when the students need them, causing havoc on your hair.3..when a mistake is made they will do and say anything to get out of fixing it." Color supervisor is completely rude, unsympathetic to my situation. I do remember a black teacher who was the only "teacher(?)" who was sympathetic and kind. I had the same hair stylist (a level one) Yusi do my hair, first time she washed my hair she let bleach run down the back of my shirt and stayed silent about it. She ruined one my favorite shirts, and it was so embarrassing to find out I had been walking around like that all day. I am very forgiving and understand she didnt do it on purpose, but she purposely avoided telling me. Multiple times I found chunks of bleach stuck to my scalp still. Last time I saw her I went in at 1pm. I was asked to wait & of course thats fine, the salon is very busy. It was for her 15 min break. I liked her so of course I did not mind. Everyone needs breaks. Well after consulting it took 45+ minutes of us sitting around waiting for a teacher until Yusi decided she was done waiting and just started on my hair. Im really patient, but I got here at 1pm and it wasnt until a little before 2:30pm that my hair was finally being started on without teacher even signing us off to start. I trusted her though, and she did my root bleach ok. The problem was my bleach took so long, that I would always pass the time for level 1 stylist into the level 2 stylist time. This meant that Yusi would have to leave and be taken over by someone else. Yusi was trying to finish my hair, its obviously trying to rush so I wouldnt have to wait for a level 2 stylist to come finish it. I have black hair naturally. My hair was currently bleach blonde. She asked if she could curl my hair, it would make a great after photo. I said yes, of course I want my hair to be cute! Well sadly, she didnt wait for my bleach blonde hair to dry and she curl my hair with an iron till it dried into a curl. She fried my hair. I stare as I watched the steam evaporate from my hair. She saw me looking concerned, and she said its fine see, this is not damaging your hair. I liked her & I convinced myself I was wrong and shes right. Shes a hair stylist and Im not, she should know better than I. I left the salon happy, but my hair smelt very burnt. I thought maybe bc I never use heat tools myself this was a normal smell. I went out so everyone could see my cute hair, but I got a headache from the smell & had to wash it conditioner to get the smell out. I try using half a bottle of conditioner and a hair mask, but it still smells and feels fried. My hair has never felt this damaged. I need to call back, but end up I catching some vomiting bug and Im stuck in bed for a week. This is the most sick Ive been in 2 years. Finally a week later I can sit up without getting dizzy. I try to make the call but Im still so emotional I cant talk about my hair without bursting into to tears. I ask my sister to call for me and explain the situation. When I finally come back so they can take care of my hair its obvious the receptionist is being passive aggressive. She scoffs when I asked her to repeat something, because its so loud in store. Even avoids smiling when she previously tried being as nice as possible. Two reception ladies come up and try being snappy "Your hair gets that damaged when you bleach it." I respond "She only bleached my roots, why would the bottom be damaged?" They assumed I was crazy, Im sure. Trying to con the salon into getting free treatments or something. Yusi even came to me to confront me and tell me I was lying. So rude and unprofessional. I ended up getting a hair mask and had to cut my long hair to short. The receptionist tried making me pay every time until the kind black teacher told her otherwise. There are good people here, but wow there are some ppl who just dont care. Pay for the better students!

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I went in with two of my friends (we all made an appointment together). They checked in first and each one was asked what they wanted. When it came to me, they didnt even bother to ask me if I wanted a cut, or dye, the receptionist just said we could sit down (which I thought was rather fishy...). We sat close to the receptionist desk, and my two friends were taken back right on time. I sat and waited OVER an hour and a half. I know that the receptionist saw me, I was in plain sight and we had met eyes several times. Why I was not inquired about, Im not sure. I was trying to be patient, considering its a school and they are a very busy place. I didnt want a dye or anything extravagant. I wanted a CUT, a simple cut. My friends were over halfway done by the time I left. I was so infuriated I didnt bother asking whether or not I had been forgotten - it was pretty obvious I had been. I was highly disappointed. I have heard good reviews and I was super excited to have a good cut and feel pretty! Its always great when you can have a nice cut and that self confidence boost hits you. Instead, mine was rather crushed when the same people over and over and over again walked past me and didnt bother to find me someone to help. Usually I would have asked about my appointment, but at that point, I was completely over it. No, I will not recommend this place and I will never ever go back again. Update: They gave my friends a coupon for me for a free hair cut AFTER my friends conveyed to them that I had been completely missed. I will give a second star.

The school has really gone down hill since merging the Nashville and Murfreesboro locations. It always seems disorganized, the students dont get as much one on one attention and the service overall does not seem as good (almost like they are rushing the students out onto the floor). When I had services done at the Nashville school, the teaches continually checked in to see how things were going. Now they sign the paper the first time and if the student or customer has any questions, the student has to hunt them down...they arent usually seen again until time to sign the customer out. Ive had more mistakes since coming here as well. Mistakes that shouldnt have happened. I left one day with full unwashed color still on the underside of my hair. Before I left I noticed it was itchy and all wet and sticky. I brought it to a teachers attention and she never looked in my hair. She just wiped my neck saying I had some color stain. When I got home I could still pull globs of color out after running my fingers through there. I had to get in the shower and rinse my own hair out so as not to damage my clothes etc. I love coming to the school and helping the students and I always go knowing I am seeing students in training, but Im not sure how much longer Ill be doing that if things dont improve. I think they are greatly doing the customers and most importantly their students a disservice.
