I was going to renou salón for 2 years, she is the first hair stylist i foundher, i am not american and i am new in Murfreesboro. My husband and me we going together and she wa doing a good job BUT the last months i was starting to feel uncomfortable with her, becouse she was always impatient, she did not like when people tell her they do not agree about what she was doing with thier hair. Some months ago, she did not do a good job with my light hair but she fixed, i was looking what she was doing and i was patient and i did not tell her anything, i wanted to see the results and she was lucky becouse she fixed the problem and all was ok. Next month she cut my hair to much, when she knows i do not like she cut hair, to much , only the ends is good for me but not to much but she did and i did not tell her anything becouse i was patient hoping hat she was going to be better next time and becouse i did not know about another hair stylits, last time, one week ago she was washing my hair, in a hurry becouse she had another customer, her friend and she damge my new t-shirt washing my hair and left in the sink with conditioner becouse she wanted to finish the highlights from another customer, i was patient and waiting and then i told her my t-shirt was wet and i would like to dry my t-shirt and she told me she will do, she did but upset, impatient and she did not dry very well my t-shirt and told her better she checks if my t-shirt was ok and she told me all was ok, She dried my hair and not my t-shrt and i accepted becouse i did not like to see her upset face. Then i went home and there i knew she damaged my t-shirt, and it was new i tried to fix but it was not posible, then i sent her a message telling her what happened and explained her that i tried to fix the problem and not with good results and i will appreciate she buy me y new t-shirt or give the moey and i will buy it and it was cheap. She told me ok, i will give you and you buy it. i went to her salon, she paid me and she was upset. then afetr some hours i received a message telling me SHE DOES NOT LIKE TO PAY FOR ANY T.SHIRT AND IF I WANT TO CONTINUE GOING TO HER SALON I HAVE TO WEAR MY OLD CLOTHES. She was not nice, polite and she did not have good manners. I was very patient for 2 years, becouse she is someone who hates people tell her she is doing something wrong. She only think about to make money and wants to work with 2 or 3 customers at same time and that is why she damaged my hair WHEN I MADE MY APPOINMENT WITH HER 5 WEEKS AGO. I was always Kind and i paid very well. She does not have good character, bad temperament, not patient and i am not going to go there anymore. AND I KNOW MANY OTHER OTHER HAD PROBLEMS WITH HER TOO becouse she is difficult person.

Lacking Attention to Detail - Although all of the employees at Renew Hair Salon are very personable and kind, I left the salon pretty displeased with my new ‘do. I asked the stylist to do subtle blonde highlights (so that when it grew out it didn’t look horrific). However, when she took the foil out the blonde was much brighter than expected! She said she could put toner in it to make it darker, but that she would have to charge me extra for it! (This didn’t make any sense to me, and it seemed very unprofessional. If you make a mistake, you should eat the cost and make the customer happy.) Also, I noticed that the highlights themselves were not done close enough to my scalp—they were started about ½” from my head! Needless to say, she did not pay enough attention to the details. The hair cut was mediocre, and it took a while for her to do it. I know that she is still gaining experience, so I’m going to cut her some slack there. Overall, I would not recommend this salon if you are looking for some good highlights.

Horrible, disappointing, unsatisfactory. Good if you want something extremely basic, nothing more, expect to do work on your own hair while youre between others, dont go if you mind religious talks and judgment, and be extremely weary of colors + scissors. I was a devout client for many years of the owner, Renou. Things were great in the beginning, but she just quit trying. Id smile every time I disliked my hair, even though I know I shouldnt have and just changed salons. I just had a huge soft spot for her & her business, but after I finally, very nicely, confronted her, I was literally attacked, and it was taken out on my hair. She did everything I asked her not to, bad color, bad cut, bad manners, bad awkward silence, bad professionalism, etc. My hair fell out afterwards on top of everything else. It was the worst situation ever, & I will never go back. It saddens me because she seemed like such a nice person, but I know better now. Shame on me for being fooled too many times. Dont be fooled, yourself.

I went to Renew for the first time a couple of days ago for the first time based on the excellent reviews it was receiving. However, I was very disappointed with how my hair turned out. Sidney didnt seem to do a thorough wash job and I had to wash my hair again the next day because of how gross my hair felt. She cut my hair at a good length but the layers look terrible and are flipping in different directions. Now when I wash it, I have no choice but to attempt to straighten it instead of just letting it dry(attempt as in no matter how much I try the layers stay flipped). Not to mention I didnt feel the personal contact that I usually feel when I go to a hair stylist, like them getting to know you and talk to you. That may seem stupid but thats how you network and get clients to come back. While I was there, she seemed to talk to everyone but me. I think next time I need a haircut Ill either try the owner who has been getting rave reviews or another salon.

I just moved to the Murfreesboro area and happened to stop in as a walk in to get a hair cut and absolutely had the best experience with a hi-lite/low lites and hair cut done by the owner/stylist, Renou Skinner. She offered me a deal I couldnt refuse for such amazing work. I am from a former family owned hair salon business of 30 years from Texas. My mother who owned the business sold it back 7 years ago and I have not found one stylist that Ive been happy with since then until I met Renou. I was super nervous, but Renou is a very pleasant person to deal with and her other stylists make you feel so welcome as well. She made me feel like she really knew what she was doing. I took the chance, and sooo happy I did. I am so glad she is the owner because at least I know shell be around for me to go back to for years to come. Thanks Renou!!! You saved me a whole lot of trouble of finding the right one. I will recommend you all to everyone!
