the overall feel of the salon was welcoming and cozy. I loved the ever present sweet smell throughout the salon. and the fact that everything is formulated with natural ingredients is the main reason i chose to come here. the stylists are nice and take time during the consultation to understand what exactly it is that you want. a few months ago when i came, i had highlights done to my hair. it turned out really blonde for my complexion. it took a couple months for the color to tone down to the color i originally wanted. after the color was fading into a brassy color i decided to go and brighten the highlights again to a warm honey. i showed my stylist 3 pictures of the ideal hair i wanted. my hair at this point was growing into an ombre and wanted to keep it that way. i asked to only get my ends done and to leave my roots untouched. bottom line the before and after of my hair didnt look different to me. it was like i paid almost $100 just to get a tiny portion of my hair done when it all looked the same to me. i came home and spent a great deal of time looking in the mirror and i seriously couldnt see any difference. i was disappointed to be honest especially since i paid alot of money and left the salon with my hair not looking much different. i wish the stylist had used more of the hair color instead of mixing in a large portion of hair color into a bowl and using just a tiny bit then throwing the rest away she could have used more on my hair then i would have seen the difference.

I had an appointment to have my hair colored and cut with Nathaniel on Saturday. I wanted my medium blonde hair to be colored a dark blonde with highlights in them. Somehow this translated into "I want a solid, dark brown head of hair with absolutely NO highlights showing whatsoever." This guy covered my entire head in this dye and foiled some of my blonde hair out for the highlight effect. He reassured me numerous times that it would not be dark-brunette at all, even though the dye was strangely dark. Well, needless to say, when I was rinsed - it was as dark as a brunette could probably get. PLUS - the highlights that he had foiled out did not show up at all. He ran out of time with me, so he passed me off to another (much better) stylist (Brandie, I think?) who cut my hair. The cut looks great, the color is ridiculous. And in the midst of my hair cut, Nathaniel just left and went home! I really hope my tip went to Brandie and not Nathaniel. She offered to add highlights to my hair next weekend, but I feel as if I spent enough money in this salon already. I paid for a color that I did NOT want and a foil that did not even show up. Thats a $200 mistake that Ill never let happen again by coming back to True Blue salon.

I went to True Blue for the first time in June 2017 as many friends go there and had recommended it. I decided to get my hair colored for the first time in about 5 years, and it came out almost the same as the color it started. When I mentioned this to the Salon afterwards, the owner Kim Hunter personally called and scheduled me to come back in so she could get the color right. I went back and Kim was great! She made sure to figure out what I wanted and walked me through the process. The color is much blonder now and I get tons of compliments! Thanks so much Kim for putting customer service first and making sure every customer leaves happy! I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family!

This is really such a great place, and its hard for me to fully convey here how helpful and professional the staff are. Not only were they able to fix bad hair cuts (Jessica is great!), they also tell you comprehensively how to best care for your hair. So, not only do you get a great cut and style, you also get a lot of really helpful information about your hair at the same time. For instance, I learned that my hair has both fine and coarse characteristics, which can be dealt with using a range of techniques. Jessica gave me a lot of recommended options, and I really left feeling like I knew a lot more about my hair. Truly a great place, and I can recommend no better in Nashville.

True Blue is a trustworthy salon. They have both great services and customer service. Their associates are kind, respectful, engaging, and have good taste and skill. They check and double check that their vision for your hair matches your expectation (they would never leave you unhappy, but would work with you until your haircut reaches your satisfaction). Their Aveda products are great, and they also have a great referral system. Id definitely recommend them. They are pricier than Id like to pay for a haircut (what can I say, Im a cheap college student), but you definitely get what you pay for.

I have been going to True Blue Salon for over 20 years. Kim Hunter, Owner of True Blue Salon, is a very successful business woman. She has amazing stylist that are the best in Tennessee! True Blue Salon has received numerous awards for being selected Best Salon! Her staff is extremely helpful with making sure the clients receive the best in their experience at True Blue - they are always cheerful and helpful! I love it that each stylist or staff calls you by your name. That is very professional and shows appreciation for our business. Love all my girls at True Blue!

Emma is the magician of hair. She keeps my highlighted blonde hair looking natural and makes sure it is not streaky and grows out in a tasteful way. I also have very curly hair and she does a great job cutting it so I dont have a triangle shaped head. Besides her skill, she is also a hilarious person and I feel at ease in her chair. I feel like Im talking to a lifelong friend with her and I implicitly trust her with my opinionated lions mane. The staff at the entire salon is knowledgeable and welcoming. I know I will never have a bad experience at true blue!

I have never had a better salon experience. Everyone is so welcoming, it is incredibly easy to schedule. You get a lovely head massage when you sit down (and who wouldnt want that). The Aveda products are lightly used, but work amazingly - my hair is always the softest and smells beautiful. My hairdresser is the best I have ever had, asking me every step of the way what I want done. I have never walked out wishing it would grow out a little to even up, or wishing that the shape was slightly different. I always get exactly what I want, every time!

True Blue is golden with me. I am hesitant to write this review and give away a great new secret. Jennifer is fairly new to the area and so it was shockingly easy to get an appointment with her, but I fear that once the secret is out it wont be so easy. She is a true professional, listened to what I was looking for in a color and cut, made some recommendations which were exactly what I needed and proceeded to give me the best highlights and color ever and exactly the cut I asked for. Great scalp massage too!!
