I DESPISE this establishment and will never return or recommend it to anyone. I have been coming to Atash since May 2015 for eyebrow threading only. I chose this place because it is very close to my home and is one of the very few places in Nashville that does eyebrow threading. I was shocked at what they were charging for eyebrow threading ($20) but really had no choice since this is something I must have done given my thick, fast-growing hair. I lived in LA for 2 months and visited an eyebrow threading salon that only charged $15 per visit. Atash- you are NOT better than LA, fyi. My first visit was OK. I found the customer service to be strange and informal, but they got the job done. My eyebrows came out fine and thats all I really cared about. Over the next few visits my eyebrow service varied depending on the threader, ranging from awful to acceptable. You never knew what threader would be there so you cant really make an appointment with a certain threader. You can, however, call ahead so that you do not have to wait when you arrive. (Remember this for later...) A front desk employee tried to convince me once that my previous threader had been fired as I mentioned I had a not great experience the time before. When he told me this, I immediately pointed to THE WOMAN HE SAID HE FIRED standing in the back doing others eyebrows, so I literally proved him wrong right there and then. Wow, he was embarrassed and it was awesome. Today I called 20 minutes ahead to reserve my time and was told over the phone that no reservation was needed, you can just walk right in. Sounds like theyre empty, right??? WRONG. I came in to find I was behind 4 or 5 women. I mentioned this to the presumable owner who noticed I was visibly angry and her response was that on Thursdays they only have one threader and you have to wait. This information would have been helpful WHEN I CALLED! But again, no choice, need to have this done today. I wait luckily for only a few minutes and the threader brings me to the back clearly annoyed that I had complained about the line even though I was very courteous to her as that aspect was not her fault. I sit in the chair and kindly say "I just want them cleaned up" which I always say because I have had balding experiences in the past. Her response is, "Oh I know, I do eyebrows". WOAH! Already using fighting words! I ignore my instinct to walk right out because I HAVE to get my eyebrows done. She finishes my right one strangely quickly and my eye begins to water from the pain (which is common). I have stopped asking for a tissue as this establishment can not be bothered to invest in tissues for their customers. She asks me if Im ok, I say "Im fine". She finishes my left one also eerily quickly and then says: "Why dont you stretch your eyebrows enough?" Me- "Um, you didnt ask me to stretch them more" (which they typically do if they need you to). Her- "Well, I just didnt want to make it more painful for you". Me- "If you would have told me to stretch them more to make it less painful, I would have done it!" Anyway, she asks me to look in the mirror and SHE HAS INTENTIONALLY MISMATCHED MY EYEBROWS! MY RIGHT ONE IS MUCH SHORTER THAN MY LEFT ONE. I am livid and say nothing when she asks me how I like them. I am NOT trusting her to attempt to even them out. I pay leaving a noticeably tiny tip and leave. I have NEVER trusted this place and today just proved my point. The staff loves to air their dirty laundry in front of customers for all to hear and clearly have no sense of customer service by being rude, short and intentionally nasty if you cross them. BE WARNED: DO NOT COME HERE FOR ANY KIND OF BEAUTY SERVICE. You might end up leaving looking like a troll.

If there was a choice to give zero stars to this place, I would have chosen that. So I am here in Nashville on business, so busy for the last 12 weeks I have not been able to get a trim at home with my stylist. I have a little downtime and happened to be walking by this place so I thought maybe they could get me in-- and they did. And that was the bitter end of my good experience there. A frumpy older "stylist," who appeared not to have washed or styled her own hair in quite some time, came out to greet me. Hey, we all have bad days, Im not going to judge yet, I think. She first tells me that I "really need to let someone [there] work on" my brows. What is that, an up-sell? Because it sounded a lot like, wow, youre hideous--not exactly the best way to build rapport with a new client. I tactfully say thanks, but I really just want to get a trim today. I dont think my brows are a major aesthetic emergency, either, to be honest. Theyre actually pretty well groomed. She then proceeds to tell me my style is horribly dated with the statement "Is *this* the look youre [actually] *going for*? (insert incredulous, condescending tone here). I politely said yes, actually, this is **exactly** the look Im going for. I like my style and am not interested in changing it. I just need a trim-- clean up the layers so they frame my face, thats all. Can you do it? She says, apparently insulted that I would question her ability, that she can do it, but needs to let me know thats not really whats popular now. Translation: she doesnt want to do it. Mind you, Im getting this advice from a woman who doesnt seem interested in having any style of her own--not well dressed, not well groomed, not smiling, not nice. I guess you could say it wasnt the most compelling advice Ive ever received. So by now I realize there is no way I can let her anywhere near my hair with any kind of sharp implement, and am doubting not only her ability, but also whether I can trust her to do what I ask instead of "helping" me out with some crazy style change that she thinks is better when Ive got my back to the mirror. She then proceeds to tell me that she will just do a dry cut, since apparently a trim of the sort I requested is so beneath her that she cannot even be bothered to perform the shampoo portion of the shampoo & cut for which I will, no doubt, be charged. So I said no, I dont think youll be cutting my hair at all, actually, and left. Tomorrow I have an appointment at a real salon, where, I anticipate, the stylists will have bathed, will likely listen to what Im asking without a facial expression that belies disgust, and maybe, if Im lucky, wont tell me Im ugly and dated. If I was ugly or dated, I might be feeling badly about myself after that experience, but I am neither of those things. I really feel badly for the women whose self esteem could be seriously damaged by this very unprofessional person. Avoid this place!

Ive come here several times. This review is solely due to the poor customer service received by the man at the front desk. I attempted to walk in to get a a brow appointment if available. While they do accept walk ins, I understand that scheduling an appointment will ensure a spot. Nevertheless, I had sometime from one event to the next meeting so I wanted to see if they could squeeze me in. The young lady at the front desk told me she wouldnt be able to get me until 2:45. Unfortunately my next meeting was at 3 so I told her I couldnt, but that it was fine. And that Iwould simply come back later. The man behind the counter interrupted and stated that I could just wait and see if they could squeeze me in, but that I should just schedule an appointment next time. That was fine. However, this man proceeded to speak under his breath with some slick comments and told me just to take "the card," and stood up to find "the card" that did not exist. Because I could sense he was irritable, I looked at my phone to check the time and said, "you know what, I should probably be done by 2:30 so Ill just call next time." To which the man rudely stated, "oh well you wasnt ready for us anyway." I looked at the young lady and said thanks anyway and turned to walk out the door. As my back is turned, he shouts, "dont have an attitude!" This pisses me off. Throughout the entire situation Ive been incredibly calm despite his rude tone and demeanor. My response was simply, "I dont have an attitude, but the way in which you are speaking to me is unacceptable." I wave and smile at the young lady, -who is obviously embarrassed, and proceeds to walk out the door while the man continues to talk trash as Im leaving. This is not the first time this man has exhibited insufficient, piss poor customer service, but this is will be his last with me. Im very upset I have purchased a package with them that I will not be using, as I do not plan on returning after that interaction, Incredibly dissatisfied.
