The coaching staff are more concerned with my health - body, mind, and spirit - than they are with my "numbers". While each coach has their own personality, they likewise have their own coaching focus. Ryan tends to focus on fundamentals and mechanics. Michelle has been called "the Form Nazi" on more than one occasion. While it may seem like semantics, it isnt. Ryan will technically explain and demonstrate loading weight to the parts of the body as you progress through the range of motion then how to fire different muscles to properly while you complete the movement at a weight and rep scheme for you. Yet Michelle will demonstrate the movement, coach you through while calling out how you can better complete the movement "Tim, too much xyz - drop 10lbs and try it again trying to keep your chin up and knees out this time... Drop 10lbs more. Knees Out. Ok Goo-Chin Up!" Each have their place and are needed; there are points you need to understand what needs to happen and others where you simply need to remember the little things which keep you both safe and functioning efficiently. Likewise with all the other coaches, Netti, Chris, Dr Mark and more still... Though the common goal is still an increase in functional fitness, it must start somewhere which may mean a few months (or 6 in my case) of scaled workouts (based on your inbound fitness and experience level) to build strong form, sleep and eating habits, mindsets, etc before trying to complete multiple workouts as prescribed (AKA "RX") and Whole Strength is focused on just that - *WHOLE* //Strength// - each impacting area of a fully healthy life coming together in harmony. Pair this with the steadily increasing specialty equipment and market goodies, the Licensed Massage Therapist, and growing class options, you have a recipe for true Functional Fitness.

Whole Strength is a great place to workout. The staff is friendly and very easy to communicate with. The owners continually invest in new equipment and improve services for members. Crossfit generally is fairly expensive for a gym but at WSC you get what you pay for. Every workout the coaches take time to make sure everyone is comfortable with the movements and will recommend an alternative if needed. It’s like getting a trainer for every session, which will be about the same cost at a chain gym. Crossfit can be intimidating for newcomers but WSC is a welcoming place with friendly folks. Highly recommended.

This is an awesome community and gym! I have done Crossfit before (for 6 months) and it was a bit too competitive/advanced. This coaching staff is awesome at helping you to scale the movements in order to get a great workout and feel like a bada** doing it! :) As of now, the classes arent crowded, they are just the right size so that you get personalized coaching. Ryan is so knowledgeable and I learn something new about fitness/stretching/the body every time Im there.. I recommend this box for sure - especially if you live in the south Nashville / Nippers Corner / Brentwood area!

Whole Strength is awesome!!! I was absolutely terrified of trying Crossfit and figured it would be too hard for me, but I was 100% wrong! Ryan and the team made me feel welcomed and comfortable, and they encouraged me to go at my own pace from the beginning. This gym has become like a family to me, and I still cant believe how kind and supportive all the staff and other members are. I truly love this place and cant imagine working out anywhere else!!

Ive been a member here for about 7 months and it has been a really great experience. I was completely new to Crossfit and pretty intimidated before I decided to give it a try, but Ive never regretted the decision to give Ryan a call. My favorite thing about coming here is how much I learn about how to lift properly and about how to take care of my body. The staff is very patient and I feel they are really invested in my success. Highly recommend this gym for anyone interested in CrossFit as they welcome all levels of fitness.
