I just quit. Ive been an orangetheory member since june 2016. I never had problems at the Lakeway location so maybe its this location. I dunno. So today - i had my class scheduled for 3pm. I had to change because work wouldnt let me get away so early. Im a freelancer and sometimes my schedule gets shifted because I have to address my clients needs. So i called OTF and changed to 415pm. I was told there was a wait list and i was number 7. But i shouldnt worry. Ill most likely get in. Even though I expressed some concern, I was told not to worry. Should be fine. I asked "do i get a text? Anything?" nope - dont worry. 350pm - leave house, get to OTF, class has already started although my phone doesnt quite say 415pm. I head on in. Jump into the class. Take 5 strokes on the rower and then am told that i need to get up as someone is before me on the wait list and just arrived. Heres the deal people - you sign up for a bunch of different classes you wont take and then you call them and cancel the one you wont make it to. Theres no system in place to let you know if you are going to get a spot in the class or not. Theyd rather overbook the class and let YOU take the chance of not getting in than take the risk of having a few open machines/spots on the floor. Doesnt that sound kind of like overbooking a flight? It sucks because its a good workout and I always feel a sense of pride when i get through it. I was loosing weight and getting in good cardio. But I just feel screwed over. They want ME to hedge MY bets on whether or not I get into a class rather than hedging THEIR bets that they might have an empty machine. They wasted a good hour of my day (just the driving back and forth) and now Im wasting more time telling you about it. Never ever had a problem at any other health facility or workout operation like this. Not worth the aggro. Yelping about my experience feels better than actually going to this place.

Thanks Leah for your review.Im visiting from Florida and by chance (coffee at Starbucks) saw activity. Not familiar I stopped in to see what was going on.When I explained to a couple young Austinites they could not believe I would not have heard of Orangetheory... I work out regularly at home,so I felt the challenge.Dispite not liking there tone I signed up for class. But I did sense an "Austin attitude".After reading your review I will save 28 dollars and head back to Fort Walton Beach one hour earlier.....Thamks again,

Great workout thats always changing. Its getting more crowded at this location and I get waitlisted a lot but Ive never not made the class I wanted. The staff is friendly and things run smoothly most of the time.
