I have been going to Semeneya for a year and a half. I first started with swing dance lessons through SA Swing Dance Society which I saw through a groupon. Those lessons were fantastic with multiple levels that I progressed through. I later met my boyfriend at a swing dance event and we decided to try the latin styles together offered at Semeneya. I had done social dancing before but only taken the free beginner lessons offered at clubs. He had done no latin dancing before and progressed well so that after 2-3 months, we became members and are taking Salsa 3 and 4. We like that the classes are broken up into levels so that when I invite friends they can go to another level and not be lost during the lesson. The socials on Tuesdays are good to stay after your lesson to practice what you learned, or else it is easy to forget what you learned since many moves are complicated and you can always add styling. I have recommended this studio to many friends, take advantage of the discounts offered like buying classes in bundles. Also, be sure to try out the other styles to mix it up. The teachers are great dancers and instructors, always with smiles on their faces. We need more follows!

Describing Semeneya as only a dance studio does not encompass the Semeneya familia. One of the great thing about Semeneya is the community associated with it which has gown over the years. The best thing is that while you are learning to dance you also are learning to make friends and be social. They are very reasonably priced and are always looking for new dances and new dance opportunities. One recent event where some of the instructors moved on to create their own organization showed what kind of people they are. Even with this the love continued and they still dance with and meet with each other. Great people.

We first attended a Semeneya Salsa Boot Camp because I didnt know how to dance. Four years later, we are still members and we love it. Weve met wonderful life long friends at this studio. The staff and students are very friendly and very approachable. Lee Rios is really an amazing instructor, dancer, performer and a very humble individual. Its really the best place to learn salsa, bachata, or kizomba in San Antonio. I highly recommend it. :)

Semeneya Has always been full of life! they really love what they do. they all work together to make sure every one gets the help they need when it comes to what style of latin the client wants to learn. their Social nights are some and fun! Lee Rios is the funnest guy i have ever met. Im thankful for him and his wife Brenda for making alot of dreams possible for alot of people who are interested in latin dance styles.

Instructors at this studio are professional, knowledgeable and respectable with their work. Dancing is a passion. They have it here! I find it quite interesting when people that are not serious or people that do not have the true desire to learn start bashing instructors simply because they could not follow instructions and learn a challenging dance pattern. Lee Rios is the best salsa instructor!

I agree with the user who said these reviews are written by the staff. If you are a new dancer and trying to learn, this is not the place for you to go. The instructors are a bunch of snobbish, young brats who think they know it all about dancing. If you dont learn the steps immediately, you are berated and told to leave the class. They dont have time to teach you, if youre not already a good dancer.

I was not a dancer until I found Semeneya. From the moment I began taking classes there, I was hooked. I tried classes at many other places and they cant compare. I didnt know a anyone in San Antonio when I moved here. Through Semeneya, I have met so many people and many of them now feel like family. I now love Salsa and dance with everyone I have the opportunity to dance with.
