Now... first, you will read some bad reviews around. Why? I do not know. I work out at the Mockingbird location. I have been going for about a month. I am not new to working out, at all. I have had gym memberships all around. Actually, my favorite (up until Private Workout) was Curves. But, the weight could not be personalized as you grew in strength. What I loved about it and PW is the regiment. I do not know about you, but that is exactly what I need. One station to the next. A supplied chart on how and when to increase your weight as you grow stronger. It is perfect for me. I would not think twice about recommending it to a friend! The gym is clean... orderly... even during peak times, there is a flow to it that you seldom even see another person until the cardio area. I have yet to have to wait for the first station in the circuit. All in all... the perfect place for me. The reason for the four stars... I was lucky the night I signed up. I had a great guy who walked me through everything. We talked about my personal goals... etc etc etc. Then the next training session, I got a new guy. The "Cooper certified" guy. While nice and I appreciate his knowledge, he does not respect personal fitness goals. My personal goal is around 23% body fat. PERFECTLY NORMAL AND HEALTHY for a woman in her late 30s. He was pushing a 22% and LOWER body fat. Now, while I can understand, I did not appreciate it. He kept telling me that it was not healthy for a woman to be at 22%.... UMMMMMMM: Description Women Men Essential fat 10-13% 5-8% Athletes 14–20% 6-13% Fitness 21–24% 14–17% Average 25–31% 18–24% Obese 32%+ 25%+ Now? What is not normal about that 23%? That is what I want know. So, watch that sales pitch. Because when I signed up for the punishment plan... He insisted. And I insisted right back that I KNOW MY OWN body. 23% will keep my curves the way I want them... keep my breasts the way I want them... I will be firm yet soft and womanly. I think what he pushes is somewhat unhealthy. Where did I get that chart? I happened to see my personal internist today for a flu shot... He explained it to me. So watch out for that! Other then that... HAVE FUN and it is an awesome place to work out... It almost seems like you are only working out for 10 minutes... it moves by that fast and you are often totally motivated for a second circuit. Not too bad, right?

I bought a Groupon for Private Workout boot camp and was super excited to go. Then I read some of the other reviews and got really nervous, but I already purchased the 6 week program. LOVED IT! I made the appointment to meet with the trainer, super easy to do because its online and there are several appointment options to choose from. I messed up the time and showed up 30 minutes late. Jeep (trainer) took my measurements and information. He asked me about my fitness goals and told me what I needed to do to get there. He provided nutrition and supplement recommendations as well. He explained the gym concept and packages available for purchase. He did not push the sale at all. Although the trainer assigned to me had already left, Jeep asked Eddie (other trainer) to take me through my first orientation work out. Eddie was so supportive at each station, telling me exactly how to do the exercises the correct way. He knew when I was ready to quit and wouldnt let me. He made me count my reps even though I didnt want to. His style of personal training is encouraging, I knew at the end of my reps he would say "BOOM", an audible pat on the back. It was very tough, which is exactly what I was hoping for. If you purchase the boot camp, it is not the typical 20 people in a room for an hour. It is a boot camp in the sense that you are doing specific, predetermined exercises over a set period of weeks. Some of the other reviews find fault with this, but I think its perfect. An intense 30 minute daily work out over 6 weeks with convenient hours will do the body good. I cant wait to see the results of my hard work in 6 weeks. Thank you Jeep and Eddie, you guys are the best.

UPDATE 2016 - Because I was threatened via email NOT to write a negative review (straight from "E" at headquarters) I have to be careful with what I say here. So all im saying is when it comes to any business (and I mean "any" not this one) that requires sign up/membership/autopay do your future self a favor and sign up with PREPAID card or any credit card account you can easily close, not just getting a new card while still under the same account, believe me there is ways merchants can get your new credit card information and bill any back payments as well as future payments. As well as DO NOT GIVE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFO at all costs, they wont like it and will tell you they really need two forms of payment but im sure you know why they "need" two forms of payment. Say no, they will get over it (Its highly unlikely they deny service if you dont provide 2 forms of payment because it makes no business sense to deny money). If you feel hard pressed then go about it like a prepaid card, get something easy to close. Then again right about that time is when I shoot the duces and go elsewhere, these days modern fitness centers are realizing contracts hurt bottom line therefore create month to month memberships and those are the types of gyms Ill go to from now on. Needless to say hard lesson learned completely at my expense. I hope they use the excess money they took towards a good cause like upgrading the awful machines and putting a less cocky trainer up front.

I would say this....I thought this place would be a very fun and positive environment, especially for someone whos a Pro Fitness Competitor for IFPA and COB. I thought wrong. They hate answering the phone or they will screen your calls and have them go unanswered. Jeep the manager at the Dallas location is known for this. I called and he was literally sitting at the desk screening calls because I was there next door...but he did not know. Today, I called because Patrick instructed me too. Instead of Jeep being professional, he decides to answer the phone and play games. He made a lot of humming noise and banging things up against the phone. I kept saying hello hello hello...he continued ignored and play games on the phone like a ill kid and then hung up on me. I reported this behavior to the Plano location and they called Jeep and he told a lie that he did not hear anything over the phone and he was with clients. Lie because I was working right downstairs and no clients. Smh ppl are very unprofessional and sneaky over there.

Its really as simple as this - If you are serious about just wanting to get the work done that you know you need to do, this is your place. If you have little time and need to get it done and move on with your day, this is it. It is not a social club. If you want a guide (trainer) who is positive, not arrogant, encouraging and extremely knowledgable to teach you what to do correctly so you are not wasting time, this is your place. There are no sales pitches here. It is just like working out at home IF you had all the right equipment (and who has that space) and having someone to guide you through, to get you rolling in the right direction. And the prices are great, especially if you are comparing what you actually get from the services. I have tried other places and working out at home, always wondering "am I doing this effectively", so in doubting, I would give up. If you want to get in, get it done and get on with your day, I promise you, THIS is your place. Results, satisfaction.
