I went in for my first cut in two years and I was really excited about trying something different. I brought in a picture and I explained I wanted bangs slightly above my jaw, lots of layers, and lots of thinning so I could manage my thick hair. After washing my hair, the stylist began to brush it and it became clear that we would be there awhile: brushing my hair took up nearly the entire 45 minute time slot and blow drying it took up the rest and then some. By the time she actually got to cutting it, her next appointment had begun asking just how long we would be; I was taken aback when the stylist said "five minutes"—she had hardly started. Sure enough, a few minutes later she stopped and asked me what I thought. My so-called "bangs" fell two inches past my jawline, my layers looked nothing like the picture I brought in, and she hadnt thinned my hair at all. I was reluctant to bring all that up because she seemed like she was in such a hurry (and who wants a rushed haircut?) so I just asked her to thin my hair out, at which point she laughed like I was asking for too much. She did it, but I felt less like a paying customer and more like I was bothering her. I left $53 shorter and looking almost exactly the same as when I went in. As such, I cant give one star, because my hair didnt look any worse, it just looked absolutely nothing like what I asked for. Next time Ill be trying a salon where the stylist will allot more time rather than make me feel like a burden taking time from her "real" customers.

Located on Georgetowns main square, this place is amazing! Madison Hampton - see her and you will love you hair! She does my color, cut, and taught me to curl & scrunch my hair. I have been coming here since December 2012. Madison is amazing. I look forward to our every 6 to 8 week chats and love my hair. She understands super thick hair and how to make it manageable (thin it appropriately). Also the salon has these heavenly candles (you can buy them) they make the best hostess/dont know what to buy gifts. I have a few myself. Highly recommend Madison, she is Georgetowns best kept hair secret. I live in Austin and still make the drive to Georgetown because its so worth it.

I am a new customer and I was lucky to get paired with Shelly on a spur-of-the-moment appointment. As I tried to explain some of my frustration with my hair, Shelly asked great questions and was the perfect consultant. Another plus with Shelly, is that she works very fast putting in the foils. Even though shes fast, her quality didnt suffer. I appreciated the fact that she had a sense of urgency and didnt keep me in the chair longer than I needed to be. I would highly recommend Mecca salon as well as Shelly if you are looking for a place where you can have a long term relationship with your stylist.

I live in Georgetown and Ive been driving to Houston to get my hair cut. When I was at work Shelley came in, and we talked. She asked me who cut my hair, I told her my situation and she replied "Oh I can do that". I went to Mecca and she was right. I received the best hair cut ever. Taylor is the reason we come here. My daughter absolutely adores her and says Taylor makes her haircut experience very enjoyable. My daughter has very thick and wavy hair, and Taylor just knows what shes doing because the haircuts are always so great. I have straight hair and dont really know how to fix such thick, wavy hair (my daughter hasnt figured it out either). Taylor has given me awesome tips to help me fix my daughters hair at home. I very much recommend her!

#EYEBROWECTOMY - no names- just beware. To quote the salon owner "Everyone is entitled to a bad day" Thats true... but good thing were talking about a stylist- not a surgeon, and good thing salon owner doesnt work for a PR firm. BIG shout out to the talented make up artists at MAC cosmetics that restored my daughters eyebrows to a natural look !!! To quote THEM "wow... well... - we can fix that" and they did. enough said.

Ive been going to Mecca for five years now. Even after moving away from Georgetown, I will still make the commute to see my favorite stylists. Even the stylists Ive never had before are always friendly and chat with me! I love Mandy and Veronica, but everyone at Mecca is great! I usually walk away with free samples or special discounts for coming back. Ive never been disappointed.

I have been going to JJ for years!!! She is wonderful!! I have very thick frizzy hair. Friday she did the Brazilian blow out on my hair and it is fabulous. The process takes about 2 1/2 hours. My hair does not frizz and all I have to do is blow it dry...I dont have to flat iron it. The product will last in your hair up to 90 days!!! This product is amazing and so is JJ!!!!

GREAT service. I requested Tanya b/c other reviewers recommended her. Shes fabulous!!! Love her to death and she has never let me down. Im super picky and she listens to what I ask for and gets it right every time. Everyone Ive met / talked to in the salon has been very friendly. A huge plus. No snotty attitudes : )

Veronica is the best. I have gone to stylists all over Austin and Dallas and never have I found someone who so consistently does a great job. Great environment without posturing attitudes. Mecca is the best choice in Georgetown! Veronica is the best. That is all.

I went to Mecca Hair Salon for the first time this week and was very impressed. I got my hair cut by Marla and she did a fantastic job! I have a simple style, but she managed to give it a fresh new look that I love. I will be recommending her to everyone I know :)
