I will never come back to this salon. I am so upset, that Ive been crying for hours. I just move to town and dont know anyone here and based on the images of the salon, it looked decent. I made a reservation and got assigned to Stephanie. I wanted to do a root touch up and refresh my undercut (I usually buzz it to zero). I specifically several times expressed to her that it is very important she would follow the existing hair line and be really precise because I am not filling to loose anymore hair by raising the line if any mistakes occurred. She said she understood. When she was buzzing it, I felt she went past the line into my long hair area, on which she said "dont worry I didnt touch your actual hair". After she was done and I brush my hand through my hair, a huge chunk of it came out. On which Stephanie said "Oops! I guess I cut a little too much! Haha!" I asked her to turn me around and show me how it looks in the back. When I saw the results I could barely hold my tears. She went straight into my long hair with a buzzer and made one side completely messed up. Now in order for me to even it out, I will have to shave off a lot of hair that I am not willing to loose. Or grow it out which would take 2-3 years, cause my hair is really long. I dont understand how someone like this can get licensed and get employed at such nice salon. In my opinion If a hair stylist is not sure he/she can deliver what the client is asking, he/she should never accept the gig. I hope this review will help other people who are thinking to become the clients of this place. Sorry for any typos or misspelling. Im still crying so its hard to type.

I came to Austin for a wedding and I made reservation at this place based on reviews, location and the fact that they are opened on Sundays. Our hair stylist was Christine and, unfortunately, our experience there was frustrating and way too expensive for the results. My appointment was at noon, my 4 years old daughter was scheduled at 1 PM. We were both out of the salon before 1. My hair had so much spray in it that , it looked and felt like a piece of metal. All that the lady did was a quick brush on dry hair, sprayed, sprayed some more, took 2 pins and get some hair out of my eyes , sprayed some more . Oh, I forgot: quickly used the hair iron to create some curls. She didnt even bother to arrange those curls. I hope that I mentioned enough the spray, the glue in my hair. Then, my daughters turn . She has gorgeous blond hair, long and a bit curled , so, I asked the lady to just curl it a bit more. Im not an expert, but, when you use the iron , you should put some protection for the hair, I know that its done, because its not the first time when I enter a hair salon. Here , she just put the iron, and, after 5 minutes, she was done. No spray, because I told her to keep it away from my daughter. And, we had to pay $100 for this experience. Or, for the spray.

So i was recommended to this salon by a friend, however my issue is that they charged me $40 for a cancellation fee when i had scheduled my appointment out a month in advance and never got a confirmation notification or any appointment notifications. There reason was because they entered in my information wrong and that confirmation calls were complimentary. I understand the complimentary part however if they entered in my information wrong you would think they would be a bit lenient towards the situation. I called exactly on the day of my appointment to find out when it was because i knew it was coming up soon, yet they still charged me the cancellation fee. I am not impressed nor will i be a client here.

I have been to The Salon once a month for more than two years and here is what youll find. The staff greets you promptly as soon as you walk in the door and they offer you a beverage while they contact your person. I have had the pleasure of working with Tanya exclusively and she is top notch. She is friendly and ready to tackle whatever look you want. If you dont know what you want she offers fabulous guidance. I have never had a salon that worked so hard on time management and getting the job done right. They shine. Upon departing and paying, again the staff is quick to offer a smile and they ask if you want to set your next appointment. Its great to pay for a service that is so worth the money.

I am not someone who usually writes reviews, but my experience with Jim at The Salon was so great that I felt compelled to write one! I have very long hair, and I really do not get it cut often enough. Jim was polite and honest when telling me how much he thought I needed to cut and was very friendly and personable. You can tell he takes pride in his work and is very meticulous, which I believe is very important. This is the best haircut Ive had in a long time, and I will definitely be scheduling my next appointment here. If you are looking for a great haircut in a nice atmosphere, you should absolutely visit Jim at The Salon!

I made a haircut appointments for my family. The salon called me while we were already at our appointment time. The salon informed us our appointments needs to be cancel due to the hair stylists no show. When I scheduled these appointments, they said if I am late more than 15min for a appointment or no show, they will charge me $25. What about their no show? They dont care about clients precious time. As a courtesy, they could have called us ahead of time so we didnt have to waste our time to go to the salon. They are so inconsiderate to call 3min before the appointment, we were already at the salon.

Im not one to pay over 20 dollars to get a haircut but I figured Id grow up and give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised how much of a difference it makes. Ill never go back to the settling for a crappy cut. I even moved to south Austin and continue to drive up north just to have Crystal cut my hair. The salon is always running on time, they are quick to answer the phone and allow appointment changes, and always polite and courteous. Very satisfied.

Love this salon and really LOVE my stylist Tonya McAfee-Smith. I have been coming to her for 9 years and followed her here from anothe salon. I recently moved myself two hours away and still follow her here. I will not allow anyone else to touch my hair. She does awesome with my coloring and cuts. I receive many compliments on the color every time I get it done. She rocks and youll love this PROFESSIONAL senior stylist. The salon is classy too!
