Went to this store at 11820 Bandera Rd & Loop 1604, Helotes, TX, tonight and ordered 6 chicken al carbon tacos. According to the website these tacos come with 2 corn tortillas, filled with chopped chicken, onion, and cilantro, and weight approx 3.4oz. My tacos came on one corn tortilla, I could see no onion or cilantro, and at most 1oz of chopped chicken. Normally I would not fill this out but as this is a newer location having been open less than a year I felt compelled to report my experience. I have purchased this same menu item a handful of times in the past and basically received what was advertised. Tonight my tacos were about 1/3rd the weight they were on my past orders and again only with a single tortilla. Pretty discouraging as I like the fact this is a healthier fast food alternative and very close to my residence. Not sure Ill go back now though, there is a Pollo Tropical a few miles up the road that delivers consistent product and value. Its not as convenient to go to but given whats going on at this location its the better idea. I would also like to add I went to this same location a week ago at approx the same time after work and ordered the Baja shrimp tacos, they did not have any, so I ordered the tacos al carbon and was told they had no chopped chicken. REALLY you have no chicken I said!!! At this point I then said thank you and told the clerk on the mic that I would just go next door to Arbys. They have a great menu and fill a niche not many fast food places do with many healthy choices but at this location there is an Arbys and a Whataburger within walking distance, Lennys sub shop 1/8th of a mile away, and the following within a few miles: McDonalds, Wendys, Popeyes, Jimmy Johns, Wing Stop, Taco Bell, Pollo Tropical, Dominos, Churches, Papa Johns, Wing Stop, Subway, Firehouse Suns, BurgerFi, Chick Fil A, Hungry Howard, Chipoltle, Sea Island, Golden Chik. Please do something at this location, I would hate to see it close. In addition, although not direct competition, you can also choose to visit Chilis, Applebees, Aspen Creek, IHOP, Jims, Taco Cabana, Perichos Mexican, Salsalito Cantina, Las Palapos, Mias Mexican, a Japanese Steak n Sushi place and at least a dozen other choices all within less than 2-3 miles. With that kind of competition cutting corners is gonna put this location out of business. Sad really because they started out so well, definitely a different story now.

I work at the home depot across from this pollo loco so i always go there for lunch I placed my order about 4/12/2017 @ 11:45-11:50am a double pollo bowl and large drink i was given a vibrating thing that i suppose vibrates when order is ready so i sat down and waited when i seen about 10 or 15 people go by i started wondering why my order wasnt ready so i went back up to the counter and spoke to the general manager as his nametag stated and asked about my meal he asked what i had ordered and i said a double pollo bowl with large drink at this point i had run out of time for my lunch break so i just requested my money back the manager rudely responded wheres your receipt which i had thrown away but i never left the store he did not want to give my money back kept insisting to make my order but i did not have any more time i asked for my money back again but manager yelled i cannot give your money back either you take the meal or no money this manager needs to be retrained i feel like hes stealing my money its not like i ever left the store this was at the pollo loco located at 11820 Bandera Rd, Helotes, TX 78023

Im constantly on the road so a fast food guy. Three times this month I have ordered chicken from this location and 2 of 3 I have received chicken that are old (chicken that has been reheated over and over or been in low heat for a day or two. This is an edible. I would preferably eat a partially burn meat than this. The funny thing is that I bought chicken for lunch the day before and forgot it in the car and it doesnt have that old meat taste.

Sat in the drive through for 10 minutes and no one even opened the window to acknowledge our existence. Several employees walked by the drive through window, saw us sitting there, and nothing. Gave up and left before they took our money and made us wait longer.

Being a San Antonio white boy, my exposure to chicken - based fast food is quite expansive. El Pollo Loco, however, is now my go-to location for cheap, healthy, good food. No problems with service or food thus far, and the $5 Meal combos are the greatest.

The only thing good about my visit there was the food was hot. The place was dirty.when i got my order i had three different meats in there when i only asked for one. It use to be good when i went here awhile ago.now its questionable

Food was well cooked as always and well prepared, but we had alot of things we added extra missing, went here during a busy hour, but it took so long to receive the original items we ordered we just decided to just eat inside.

For all the Pollo Locos, carnivores in North San Antonio, Pollo Loco has a brand new location of the 1604 with Banderas, so stop in, eat and enjoy Pollo Loco just before you head on up to Helotes or Banderas.

No flavor on anything,niether rice, beans or chicken. And they had no guacamole neither macaroni and the tortillas smelled rough, and the worst is that they had no salsa, who sells chicken with no SALSA

The place is freezing cold everytime I go in. Youd think it would be nice in the San Antonio heat, but you cannot enjoy your meal while getting frostbite!

Food is good but there was a loud annoying beep that sounded every 4 seconds coming from the soda machine. Very hard to enjoy my meal.
