Staff was nice. Price is cheap. Location is good. That being said, I joined in May of this year and just cancelled my membership yesterday. I paid the 58.00 plus tax buy out fee gladly. I will tell you why. Since I joined, this place has not been my idea of a gym. Maybe because they say they arent a gym. Boy, they arent kidding. If you are a weight lifter, you are going to be disappointed. This place caters to cardio. There is a very limited amount of weight machines and free weights. There are several smith machines. But depending on what time of the day you come EVERYTHING is being hogged by other lifters. Many of the times I have visited, I did not compete my work out due to not enough equipment... or it being broken. There is no enforcement of gym etiquette. Hardly anyone ever reracks their weights. So instead of having a streamlined squat or leg press session, Im having to rerack other peoples abandoned plates. Never sit on a machine without wiping it down. Ive witnessed plenty of people leaving sweaty messes before just moving on to the next machine. And if you wanted to use the bottle holder to hold your water bottle (because jugs are not allowed here), too bad. Its usually full of empty bottles, empty cans, and other random garbage. The womens locker room changing area has one bench that is always full of sweaty butt prints. So general housekeeping is not a strong suit here. Ive never used the massage beds because each time I tried it wasnt working and I didnt feel like waiting around for the other one to be available. And the lunk alarm is just hypocritical. Judgement free zone... but you are going to publicly call out serious lifters? Please. By all means, use this place to get fit enough to gain some confidence and get into a real gym. And make sure you practice proper gym etiquette!

Theres no Barbell Bench Press or Incline Barbell Bench Press stations only Smith machines which helps you balance the bar...... Theres no Squat rack or Barbells to do romanian deadlifts, you have to do them on the Smith Machines which dont go all the way down...at least theres like 4 or 5 smith machines... Theres no Calf machines... dumbells go up to maybe 100lbs... you probably wont see too many big body builders here because of the missing stations ... this is a start up gym... which is fine for me ... but I like the Barbell workouts so I am a little upset about that... even the curling barbells they have only go up to 60lbs which is too light when your trying to do Upright Rows for your shoulders...again I like to do all of these with Barbells...I dont like using the smith machines because you dont work all your stabilizing muscles...but then again its only $10 dollar a month so you cant really complain too much....if you live closer to Fitness Connection their gym is 3 times the size and they have ALL the equipment and much more for $10 a month on Westheimer and Haze rd...I live closer to this smaller gym so Ill manage without the barbells, squat racks, and calf machines for now....im sure thier missing more stuff I havent noticed...a plus for PLannet Fitness is that their open 24/7 during WEEKDAYS, their OPEN from 12am Monday and close Friday 8pm... then Sat and Sun is 7am-7pm ... Sam bellow me mentioned the gym is not clean? I have never seen this gym dirty...The staff is doing a great job... but lets get some barbells people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fiance decided to sign us both up for a membership the first time he went to Planet Fitness. At the time we had a 6 week old so it was impossible for us both to go regularly. He started going frequently and i had never went once so i called planet fitness and asked them to cancel it for me. The manager said it was fine since it had only been a few days. The next month i notice this charge on my account from planet fitness for $20.64. I called them and asked why my account was not cancelled and they had no record of me calling or cancelling my membership. Then i told them to cancel my membership immediately and refund me back the $20.64. Well they couldnt refund me because the manager was unable to do that, the only thing he could do was waive the cancellation fee. I agreed because i was aggravated and just wanted this to be over with. After i thought everything was good, another charge came up on my debit card! I was so furious!!! I called the manager for the 4th time to get the issue resolved and he stated that he told me i had to come in and cancel the membership. I have never had worse customer service from anywhere in my life, not to mention i have never even stepped foot in this place and they had already taken more than 60 dollars from me. I demanded that he cancel my account this second and refund me the 20 dollars. He finally cancelled it but i havent received a penny back. This is a horrible company and i would never recommend them to anyone!

So I joined this gym 2 years ago. A year ago I moved to Pearland which is about an hours drive away. I forgot to cancel my membership before I moved and have been paying $10 a month for a year now that I havent been using. So on the 1st of June I got charged $30 for an annual fee. I was a few cents short of the amount needed as my bank charged me an extra $10 making it a total of $40 I payed for a membership I havent used in over a year. I made the hour drive today the 3rd of June to cancel my membership and get my annual fee back. They told me there wouldnt be able to refund my money because I didnt come in and cancel the membership earlier. Thats ridiculous, Im not asking for my years worth of money Ive been paying Im just asking for the annual fee back that they charged me only 2 days ago for a membership I havent used and will never use again. So just a warning if you dont want to be stuck paying for a gym you dont use dont sign up here. You cant cancel over the phone and they dont give refunds.

Read many reviews and finally decided to get the black membership for this gym. The first time walking in, the staffs were nice and friendly. The gym actually looked a lot smaller than the one in the pictures. They do provide all the equipment that you need to workout. Cardio is a plus. But the lack of free weight barbell for several major exercises such as dead lift, bent over barbell row, squat and bench pressing was a bit disappointing. (They do provide the smith machine for squat and bench press, but if you have lower back or knee problems I would definitely avoid it.) The place wasnt as clean as many others described. If they improve these, I would give 5 stars. Overall this is an exceptional gym.

You do not have hot water. ever. on a good day it is spotty, but for the past week, there has been zero hot water. this is completely unacceptable. Im having to modify my workout so that I dont get too sweaty, cause im not going to take a decent shower thats icy cold in 40 degree weather. Also there is a row machine that has been broken since i joined, only about a month now. You have made it very clear that you do not care about your facility or your members. At least your slogan is correct, you are, indeed, not a gym. youre definitely planet fitness....planet s***-ness is more like it. Bottom line, I will not be a member much longer.
