I was looking to switch gyms because I wanted a cheaper monthly payment for my gym membership. I went in to take a tour and get information on pricing. Miguel showed me around and then we went to sit down and talk about prices. Everything was great up until that point. If you want to pay the $10/mo, you have to pay a $179 initiation fee (which they would have dropped to $79 if you signed up on the spot), plus a yearly membership fee of $40. I explained to him that I was locked in with my current gym for 2 more months and I was not ready to sign up because I didnt want to pay for 2 gym memberships for 2 months. He didnt seem to understand this concept as I had to explain it to him twice. I asked him if they could honor the lower initiation fee pricing when I was ready to sign up in January after my 2 months with my current gym was over and he said he cant tell me what the prices would be in 2 months. So he was unwilling to budge at all on the initiation fee unless I signed up right then and there, even knowing that I had already cancelled with my current gym and had to sign up somewhere else soon. So someone was going to get my business, it was just a matter of whom, but apparently he didnt want my business that badly because he wasnt willing to negotiate outside of today. He didnt seem happy with the fact that I told him I wasnt interested in paying hefty initiation fees, because I had already done so with my current gym and I might as well have stayed there if I was going to have to dish out $179 to go elsewhere. I asked him if I could take a copy of the price sheet with me so I could keep it and think things over for when I do get ready to join another gym and he said no - that was his sheet to use to talk to people about prices. Like really - you dont give handouts for pricing to people who come in?? So I got my own pen out and wrote it down on the sheet he gave me for the classes they offer. So then when our conversation was over and I was ready to leave, he didnt stand up, shake my hand, walk me back to the front, say thanks for coming in...nothing. He just sat there at his desk and did nothing. Apparently he was pissed I wasnt signing up right away. Completely unprofessional. I would have considered checking back in with them in 2 months when I was ready to switch, but this behavior just sealed the deal for me. If he wants to act like a child because he didnt get his way, then this is not the gym for me. I shouldve walked out when I first arrived and overheard another member hassling with the front desk over what he owed. Not sure what the story was, but that didnt give me a great impression, along with Miguels behavior. I will be signing up at another gym in the area who had much better customer service.

If I could give no stars I would. Im a member and I invited my mom to come in and take a look at the gym and see what they had to offer. My mom liked it it has basic things you need (no basketball court, pool). We talked to one of the sales girl and she explained the prices which were not in my moms current budget. I told the girl thank you but my mom is not interested at the moment. The girl proceeded to tell my mom that she was going to talk to her manager to see if something could be done about the initiation. Already feeling uncomfortable I reassured her that my mom was not interested and that we dont want to waste her time. And what does she do ? She goes to talk to her boss and then her boss comes to her desk to talk to us. Hes more of a shove it down your throat kind of guy. Telling my mom the prices and that the "deals wont be here long". Again my mom said no thank you. I thanked him for his time, and guess what he did? NOTHING HE IGNORED ME AND MY MOM. HE ROLLED HIS EYES AND AS I LEFT HE DIDNT EVEN SAY THANK YOU OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! Rude and no class. Understand when someone says no to you it means no, and thank the customer for at least taking their time to meet you. Didnt his parents teach him manners? Only good from the gym is the Front staff is great .

UPDATE: 3/20 NOT OPEN UNTIL MIDNIGHT. TWICE NOW, theyve kicked members out 5 minutes until midnight. I used to work in the Galleria. WE Stayed OPEN until CLOSE THEN MADE PEOPLE GO HOME. DONT ADVERTISE IT IF YOU DONT HONOR IT. So far...okay. My biggest problem is that the "personal training room" isnt open to the members anymore. When I first signed up, that room was open and I could go in and use the equipment. Its a waste of space to not have it open if its not being used. I left ANYTIME FITNESS because this place was closer but Im regretting that decision. ALL spaces were open there and available to use. Its ridiculous that NOW after several months of being there I have to join a group class or buy training sessions to use that room. The FITNESS CONNECTION in BELLAIRE is better about all access AND they have everything that was promised. They advertise themselves as an "every mans" gym, where "perks " dont cost extra, but making members HAVE TO BUY TRAINING sessions to use the room, is not an "every man" concept. This places biggest PROs are that its never at capacity when Im there and its open till midnight.

I started out going to the one on Louetta which is bigger, nice and professional staff but it started getting too crowded. So I decided to start going to the one on Jones Rd. because it wasnt that crowded and I like their treadmills better. Just like the one on Louetta, it started out really nice good professional staff. Over a few months staff changed for the worse and they are extremely unprofessional. It feels like being in grade school going there. I get more ignorant stares from the staff than the actual people that work out there. People these days are just strictly working for a paycheck because the staff there dont give a damn on how people view them because if they did they definitely show more respect for themselves and the people that pay money to go there. So now Im going to have to cancel my membership and go back to planet fitness or rearrange my schedule to go to the other fitness connection early in the morning or late at night. If I didnt know any better these people are either related or really good friends. But before I cancel I will make sure I contact regional.

Meh. Nothing spectacular that would make you really happy that you registered here and that it is your gym. Their daycare is what made me stop my membership, their check-in process could use some updating to ensure security and ease the worries of parents. Their process comprises of sticking a number that they wrote on masking tape on your child and on your drivers license...i dont even recall them looking at my drivers license to know my name and there are so many kids there to remember who belongs to who. Not only that but anyone can walk into the daycare center where the children are...there isnt a secluded area for the children like there is at the YMCA. Long story short I feel safer at the Y...but if you are looking to just work out and wont be using the daycare services then this place will work just fine for you.
