I went to the Humble location; got there around 10:50 and since I have short hair it usually takes around 20-30 minutes to dry. The young lady was extremely slow. She had her boyfriend come in as they sat in the back eating their lunch while four of us were under the dryer. Two dryers including myself had stopped. That was around twelve. I sat there while she walked around for a full 40 minutes with dry hair waiting for her to service me. I think her name is Malayan or Jana because she kept changing her name. Its only two girls that are there she is fair complexion with long dark hair and a whole lot of attitude. I thought she was the owner, perhaps she is the owners child, lover or what. But she does not have respect for her customers nor does she respect their time. By 1:15 p.m. I started taking the rollers out of my hair and explain to her that I needed to leave. No apologies no excuses nothing. I left and went to the Little York location where Nadia took good care of me immediately and went to explain that the two business have cut their ties. Whew! thank goodness. I drove an hour with disarrayed hair to another salon to complete the inadequate job the young lady in Humble created. This is my second time witnessing poor business at this location. If you go prepare to be there for a minimal of four hours. Which is crazy because it takes an hour for me to get there! The chick charged me $25.00 to mess up my hair. Plus I had to pay the other salon. Thank goodness Nadia had sense enough to get me $20.00 back. I think it should have been a no charge because of all the trouble that I went through and the driving around town but I will take that charge of $45. No worry, I will never ever, ever pay my money to someone who will not respect me as a consumer!!! Deuces Dominican Beauty Salon.....

The customer service is horrible, the staffs are unfriendly and nasty. Am guessing Nadia has been there for awhile, she lacks total compassion for black people. They lack empathy or compassion on what they do, its all about the money/payment before service. They can barely communicate with a customer, which is a shame in this country. The manager is annoyingly rude, barely speaks any word of English to women, but can speak to men. Their pricing system is ridiculous, depending on how unintelligent they care stare at ones hair with dismay and tell you there are knots in your hair. The price on their board is different from what comes out of their nasty mouth. I wonder about the mothers that bring their beautiful daughters to get their hair abused under the hell fire of their of the blowout. That is pretty disheartening, as a mother with empathy I can never subject my daughter to such torture of getting their brains fried, oops, getting their hair, blown out with heat from hell. Please dont go there because their services sucks, right from paying before providing service, which is very demeaning to anyone and you cant complain, if they mess your hair. And if you are bold enough to complain they will call the cop on the you, to chase you out of their premise, which is absolute bully. Please my fellow African Americans we dont need such demeaning service from people that lack compassion for our hair type. Please patronize our sisters and brothers. Thanks.

let me be clear...nadia does an awesome job! most of the stylists do, my eight y/o daughter and i have been coming here for over two yrs now. the reason i gave them a mediocre rating is bc the problem is the customer srvc here on most days. they continue to speak spanish, which wouldnt bother me, if they werent talking abt their own customers rt there in their faces and laughing at them. although im not fluent in spanish by any means, the ofc that i work in has a predominently hispanic clientele and front ofc staff. for this reason, i have picked up a lot of conversational spanish, so much of what they say, i understand and find disrespectful. the other issue i have is the owner, who is not only rude, but also a part of this gossip. she doesnt greet the customer, is not approachable or friendly and is very inconsiderate when it comes to attending to her client, as her family members come in and out of the business, loud and inappropriate. my last concern is the high turnover of stylists, which comes back as a reflection of the owner. just when youve become accustomed to someone youre comfortable with, shes gone when you return for your next visit. as ive said, they do fabulous hair, but im beginning to consider exploring other options for the aforementioned reasons.

I was referred to this salon with rave reviews, however, I was very dissatisfied with the services. I have a relaxer and all I needed was a shampoo and wrap. The technician burned me several times with the flat iron. When she was done with my hair, I looked like I had on a wig from the 60s! My hair is of a soft texture after its shampooed and dried, but my hair was brittle and dry at the end of my service. I went to the manager to express my discontent and after they discussed my situation in their native language, I was told that all I needed to do was comb through it and it would be soft again. Then I was told that they would re-shampoo it for me but since I had already been there for 3 hours, I was NOT willing to give them any more of my time. My total bill for me and my daughter for a shampoo and style was over $100! I was satisfied with my daughters hair but totally dissatisfied with mine. I am a loyal customer but only for businesses that treat me like they want my business. I am a business woman myself and could refer alot of business to a place like this. I guess they will never know how much business they could have actually received from me. One thing I do know, I will never spend another dime in this establishment! I am EXTREMELY disappointed!

I visited the salon for the first time three weeks ago. I am a Naturalista and am very cautious of the treatment of my hair. I walked in the salon and everyone was friendly. I got a shampoo, a deep condition, a trim, and blowout. FYI: THE PRICE WAS RIGHT!!!! The lady was gentle with my hair the whole time and she explained to me how the process was going to be. She spoke of the heat..... Oh boy. Even though I was in Hells kitchen, lol, the finished product was amazing. My hair hadnt been that straight since my perming days. Here it is weeks later and my hair still feels great. I moisterize and wrap every night and I do very little to style my hair. I cant say that Ill be back every other week, but definitely every other month or months. Thank you, DBS.

This salon is hit or miss. I had a very inexperienced stylist and she did a terrible blow out. Also, they seem to charge whatever they feel like at the moment because every time I go there they charge me a different price. After my last visit I will not be returning. They do not properly treat natural hair. I had to ask my stylist to put on heat protectant. This should be a given considering the high temperature blow dryers and flat irons that they use. My natural hair tangles easily but they should be educated enough to use appropriate detangling methods that do not involve racking a comb haphazardly through my hair. Positive-they can usually get you in and out quickly.
