El pollo loco when I lived in southern California was a staple for me....I ate there atleast once a week, often more. So, having them open stores in Texas I was extremely excited......but each one I have ate at Ive left disappointed, and unfortunately this new location is no different. The chicken is not great....have had hard pieces in my burritos that have practically broken a tooth while chewing.....stale chips.....the salsa bar was huge mess...slow service, and just generally the quality/taste of the food is not what Im accustomed to. With each new location that opens i hope that they finally figure out what makes el pollo loco so popular on the west coast......otherwise they will not do well in Texas where Mexican food is on every corner.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE DURING YOUR LUNCH BREAK! I have a 1 hour lunch break. I decided to go here for lunch, expecting normal waiting times like other pollo loco locations. However, I had to wait for about 40 minutes to get 3 pieces of chicken, with rice and beans. I was not the only one either. Multiple customers were complaining, and I was not the only one that had to take my food with me because there was not enough time to eat before my lunch break was over . I am a big fan of el pollo loco, and I know this location just opened, but they need to be more organized to be able to serve customers better. It is not acceptable to have to skip lunch because they couldnt plan for a certain demand.

My wife loves there chicken avocado salad.I love there chicken period! But, I swear every time I come past 7 oclock theres always holding on chicken I waited 40 minutes for a dine inn order. And they close at 10 whats the rush to get home guys yall gonna stay till at least eleven thirty why make your customers suffer and your company that pays you. I know it aint much but everybodys got to start somewhere and its really affecting us chicken lovers! Stay on top of yalls game and you would not only make your customers happy but your families as well with that new promotion! SO keep some chicken on the grill please one love. This place should be renamed "El Pollo Incompetente". First time here I ordered a menu item without sour cream. It came with sour cream anyway. I got it through drive thru so I chalked it up as a loss. Second time I ordered I ordered the same thing. It came with sour cream again after being told that it doesnt come with sour cream. The lady working drive thru caught it and told me they were remaking it. Instead of remaking it they scooped it off and threw some lettuce over the other part to hide the sour cream remnants. If you like random crap thrown in your food that shouldnt be there this place is for you. I wont be going back.

Pollo Loco is awesome. I am happy they built one this close to home. I only had one bad experience here. Came in, waited in line. Got up to the counter. Guy said it will be an hour wait. Said the man in front of me bought over $200 worth of chicken. I had to walk out chickenless. If you are going to buy that much food, order ahead of time. If you are the manager, serve the families who were waiting in line and make the big order wait.

My first time trying Pollo Loco and it was really good. I let the girl at the drive thru know it was my first time, and she said i would love it and i have to admit i do. i ordered the 2 piece leg and thigh combo, for the sides i ordered rice and pinto beans. The flavor was on point! I am Mexican therefore i am very picky on my charro beans and these are delicious!!!! I definitely will be back!

The old manager was really good and respectful, but the new one is really rude and bad at customer service. I told her to use my coupon, but she said she cant do it because it has already been paid for, so I told her to refund my payment and redo the whole transaction, but she said she still cant do it. I was really frustrated because I couldve paid less than what I already paid.

My first experience with this place was not good at all. I will not go back for the money I spent on the Ultimate Shrimp Bowl. The title is very misleading. The shrimp was tiny and barely looked to have any at all in bowl. I would of been better off going to Captain Ds at least then I would of got my moneys worth. Wont be going back to this place.

The wait time for food is better than Taco Cabana but it still took forever to get our food. The manager was nice and was suggesting food for my 3 kids. Food was a little high for platters BUT the food was pretty delicious so worth it.

Food was good. Chicken was fresh. We had the tostada salad and avocado chicken tacos. Not bad. The staff was extremely nice, friendly, very helpful and had some very good suggestions. Not bad for our first time.

Im originally from California so its nice that el pollo loco has finally expanded to Kingwood. Love their chicken. Their burritos and bowls are really good too.

The quality has really gone down hill. Always out of stuff , or made wrong. The staff is always friendly tho, seeming to make the best of a bad situation.

This location does not taste the same as the 1960 location. The food at this one was kinda bland and the creamy avacado sauce was very watery.

First time, wasnt that impressed with the taco salad and they seemed to have given me the wrong dressing. Had to wait 2Xs for UNSWEET tea.

Pretty much all of the food tastes the same in a different wrapper. Would suggest going elsewhere for your taco fix at half the price.

Ive been here twice. Subpar food both times. Chicken was extremely dried out as if it had been cooked for quite some time.
