One of the perks of traveling the Country for work and family visits is that I get to experience new boxes. I love working out with new people, and especially when those people dont judge my terrible double unders or skills in progress... I became aware of Crossfit Lubbock while on business in Midland, TX, at my normal home away from home there, Crossfit FMS. A lady I was talking to found out I was headed up to Lubbock next and suggested I try Crossfit Lubbock, as one of the coaches, David, had been the owner of FMS and moved and started this gym. I was greeted by another coach, Stephen, who recognized me from the usual place I had been working out in LBK, (which I still frequent and enjoy very much). Imagine my surprise when David, who I had not seen in a couple years, not only also recognized me but remembered me by name from Midland. That is good business, people. Now, lets get to the meat, sauteed kale, and roasted sweet potatoes of the matter, folks, beyond being great people and retaining excellent name/face recognition, I love the programming of this gym as well as the feedback I get each time I work out. These coaches are fully committed to their athletes whether beginning or advanced, or some mish mash of mid level skill as I am. They dedicate Wednesdays to focusing on weaknesses with a 20 minute EMOM consisting of 2 weaknesses that each person chooses for him/herself. They correct poor form, the warm ups are tailored to the WOD. They even let me keep up with my squat homework from my home gym! The athletes in the classes are FRIENDLY!!! Most crossfitters tend to be pretty friendly people, but sometimes gyms seem a bit closed off and cliqueish to outsiders. Not at Crossfit Lubbock. It feels very comfortable to walk in here, almost like Im home, except that its still Lubbock, so my throat always burns when we run in the dry air, but that goes with West TX in general. If I lived here I would certainly be a regular at this gym. In the last few years, crossfit gyms in Lubbock have become almost as prolific as yoga studios in Austin, but these guys are doing things right. As I am not a local, Ill just wait till the next time the Symphony brings me back and look forward to working out again, and hopefully by that time, Ill have those pull ups down pat.

My wife and I had just moved to Lubbock and were looking for a gym to join. We attended Crossfit Lubbock seeing if it would be a good fit for us. Unfortunately it was not. The Warm up/WOD/cool down was barely 30 min long and didnt consist of any skill or strength work. The workout started randomly and not on time. The social aspect of a crossfit box is a huge appeal to us personally. Only the coach of the session said hello to us, none of the current members spoke to us or made us feel welcome. Regardless of how much of a crossfit expert you consider yourself, you should never be too big to welcome someone into your gym. Ill be fair in saying we only attended the gym once, so it may have been an off day for the gym/members. You only get one chance to make a fist impression though, with that in mind I wouldnt recommend Crossfit Lubbock.

My son (14yrs old), girlfriend, and I dropped in on a Tuesday for the 6:00pm class. We are from Amarillo,Tx and participate in CrossFit at Palo Duro CrossFit and Tornado Alley CrossFit. We were hoping to get good instruction and a good workout. We got BOTH!! David was AWESOME and very welcoming. The WOD was T.U.P. and let me tell you, it was a GREAT one. David helped show us all the movements before hand and stretched us all out real good. I LOVE the set up of their gym. The other member were also very welcoming and nice and would actually talk to us unlike other CrossFit gyms I have visited in other states. THANKS AGAIN David and I can assure you that we will be back!! KEEP GRINDIN....

During my first visit to West Texas, I traveled from Atlanta and needed a place to fit in a quick WOD and CrossFit Lubbock turned out to be the perfect spot! After inquiring about dropping in over email, they quickly responded with all the info I needed. Once at the box, the facilities did not disappoint. They have a great space in the front of house as well as a generous area for workouts. Top notch equipment and coaching. Overall excellent visit. Would recommend to anyone in the CrossFit community.

Awesome gym! I dropped for a workout in while I was in town visiting. I was greeted by David and was made to feel welcome and part of the Crossfit Lubbock community. You could tell by Davids enthusiasm (even at 5 am) that he is knowledgeable and passionate about Crossfit. The programming was outstanding and I got an excellent workout. I definitely recommend Crossfit Lubbock to anyone looking for a challenging workout. I will be back!

Excellent time today at CrossFit Lubbock. Great workout with a great review of movements for the warm-up and workout. The facility rocked. Tons of equipment, including items for Mobility.....and even a ROMWOD station. Totally legit. All people I met were friendly, approached me and welcomed me to the box and Lubbock. Its awesome finding a box that delivers when I travel. Cant wait to visit again! Thank you David and to all.

I was in Lubbock this week for business and dropped in for a WOD on Monday and Tuesday at CrossFit Lubbock. While their space is not as big as my home box, there is plenty of room and the trainers and locals were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back next time I am in town. Hopefully by then, they will have shirts in sizes other than small. Thanks CrossFit Lubbock!

I did a drop in from San Antonio and was really pleased with the staff and facilities. I was immediately greeted and asked to fill out the standard forms. The WoD was pretty simple and straightforward but not easy - work on your two weaknesses. I would recommend this box to any crossfitter. I will definitely be back next time in town for work again.

Ive always believed in traditional weight lifting and cardio until I recently became interested in CrossFit. I was reluctant to try it because of previous sports injuries, but the trainers made sure I used the correct techniques to ensure a great and safe workout. The atmosphere is very friendly and I would highly recommend CrossFit Lubbock!

David and Steven take the time to make sure you understand movements. They have a great facility. The people at the gym are friendly, supportive, and competitive. The programming is challenging but doable for people of all fitness levels. I recommend this gym to anyone looking to try cross fit. Youre not going to find a better place.

Dropped in with two friends for a WOD a few weeks ago and immediately felt welcomed! Did a team-of-three WOD, so it was great to be able to workout in a group with my friends. The coach was attentive and encouraging, as well! Really enjoyed our time there and will definitely be returning and recommending this box to others!

I took Davids elements class and this guy really knows his stuff. His coaching range is exceptional. He can take a CrossFit beginner or a seasoned weight lifter and take them to the next level with ease. Its a pleasure to work with him day in and day out.
