I dont usually write a review until prompted by Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor, etc. But my recent experience at 24 Hour Fitness, Empprium, Mesquite, TX was too unbelievable to pass up. While walking to the Eucalyptus for my first workout, I stumbled across an electrical extension cord which I failed to see stretched across the main walkway by a worker repairing one of the Treadmills. I regained my composure looked at the worker and told him he should place something over that cord before someone stumbled, fell and hurt themselves. He looked back at me and said I should watch where I was going. Of course I am frustrated by his look and speech. Again, I tell him the cord stretched across the main walkway is a safety hazard. He stares at me and goes back to his work. I proceed to my machine and begin my workout. I observe person after person either almost trip or stumble over the electrocardiogram cord. After approximately 10 minutes I call the front office from my cell. I speak with a lady named McKenzie, Mamager on duty. She says the primary manager is not at the facility but she would personally look into the matter. Approximately 5 minutes later, the worker leaves the area. He returns, unplug the extension cord, throws it over some equipment and returns to work on the treadmill. This doesnt eleviate the problem but makes it worse. Now, he has all of his tools, equipment and the enters ion chord in the aisle directly behind the treadmill causing people to walk through his work area or around it. I finish my eucalyptus workout and proceed to the stomach crunch area. Not believing g what I am seeing, I again call the front desk and speak to McKenzie. I tell her the present situation and ask if they have a y of the safety hazard cones to mark off the area while the employee does the work because this was truly an unsafe environment. She stated the manager was present and she would advise him. I thought sure, just like you were going to personally handle the prior call. Not one person had co.e to review the situation. The worker leaves the work area again ... doesnt return for the remainder if my stomach crunch workout. I proceed to the treadmill for my final workout. The worker is gone for approximately 20 minutes into an area that looks like an employee office or bathroom. The work area is left unsafe and unsupervised for that long. The worker finally returns and begins work once again on the treadmill. I finish my workout and depart. I have seen buckets placed on the floor to catch rain water coming through the roof when it rains; filthy bathrooms from a lack of care and broken equipment for months due to non-repair. I guess none of it ever impacted me because I am usually in and out. It doesnt impact you until you are touched by it. SAD!!! If you want to know why this business isnt going to survive ... Gone out of business because we didnt know what our business was! You are not in the Fitness Business ... You are in the People Business. When someone takes this much time to write these many words ... Pay attention! There is a culture here that starts at the top. Get rid of everyone and start all over. All right ... I feel much better. Happy New Year

I was very disappointed just a few days into attending this fitness center. There are no attendants in the womans locker room 95% of the time so the locker room and showers aren’t very clean with hair always in the shower. Members enter the steam room and sauna with their workout clothes and sneakers on even though there are signs right outside these rooms stipulating that bathing suits are mandatory. During my tour of the facility there was a life guard present and everything seemed great, that was the only time in two months that I ever saw anyone tending to the wet area. I was scolded by front desk staff for taking three towels instead of two. This is supposed to be an exclusive club but it feels like the staff doesn’t value the community that it serves. I worked at an exclusive health club and we’d never insult a member by limiting the number of towels they felt they needed, we just insured that we were on top of the laundry --- we bent over backwards to make sure they were satisfied. Thirty to 40% of the treadmills are in disrepair at a time. When it rains hard, two of the weight machines are unusable because water is dripping on them from the ceiling. One female member of the front desk staff isn’t courteous at all. I only purchased a membership at this facility because I am training for a triathlon and it’s close to my home. I need regular access to a lap pool, weights, and I can take my training indoors during bad weather and late evenings. I don’t recommend patronizing this facility if you can find something better.

Sorry but I have to give a very negative review. I hope 24 hr corporate reads this because there was absolutely no way to reach anyone at their headquarters to make a complaint. Atleast I was told by employees. I have been a member for nearly 3 years (prepaid 1 year and got 2 free). I travel around town and have visited atleast 9 or 10 24 hr fitnesses in DFW but this one is the closest to where I usually work so I have been here the most and feel I am qualified to give an honest assesment. This location is easiliest the worst. It is always dirty, some tvs are so bad you can not even make out what is on the screen, consistently has more non functioning treadmills than other 24hrs, water fountain is usually functional but partly broken, locker room floors are always dirty and/or wet, all the weights have some or nearly all the rubber off. I sometimes wonder how much I am actually lifting. God for bid an employee re stack the weights or remind customers to restack them. Theres 2 paper towel and disinfectant locations but they are out of one or the other often. You have a 20% chance of getting a towel which isnt a big deal but other locations that offer towels too have them ready for customers. I try not to be a big complainer but for the sake of others I really had to post this review. Most 24 hrs are good to average but this one is extremely poor. In the end I guess you get what you pay for but get more for what you pay at another low cost gym or a newer 24 hr location.

I do not recommend my family, friends, Veterans, and motorcycle riders to even consider coming here. Ive never been treated this bad for being a Veteran and a motorcycle rider. Ive received no respect or the courtesy for when i was reporting the parking lot problem. When other cars and trucks would park so close to my motorcycle in the motorcycle parking spaces that the gym provides. The bad part about this is that I would always riding my motorcycle to the gym, everyday. So this was becoming a problem for me daily. The staff did nothing but say "yeah we know". They fully know who i was, being a gym regular or a "gym rat" and even then nothing was done. Even though there were several times i would see the drivers either parking their vehicle in the motorcycle parking lot or about to leave. I would kindly ask why would they park here in the motorcycle parking lot with their car. They would say "no body is going to do anything about it since the gym(24hr fitness) doesnt care" and would threaten me to go and park somewhere else because my bike was to close to their vehicle. Again Ive informed the staff and the supervisors of the gym and nothing happened. By this experience had to be the worst experience Ive had from a gym. So again Ill say this to my FAMILY, FRIENDS, VETERANS, AND MOTORCYCLE RIDERS!!!! TO AVOID THIS GYM AND CCORPORATION overall.
