Planet Fitness training on the cancel procedures is inadequate. The cancel policy is unclear and not upfront. I asked a Planet Fitness rep to cancel my account in the last week of July 2011 before I left Texas for a new job in Colorado. I asked for the cancel because the nearest center was 60 miles from where I would be living. The rep said ok, and appeared to do something on the computer which I took to be cancelling the account. I asked if that was all and the rep said yes and enjoy Colorado. Fast forward to February of 2012 and I come across a bank statement noting a payment to Planet Fitness. I called and asked why my account had not been cancelled and why Im still being charged even though I walked in and cancelled in July. The rep could not explain this and I asked her to remove my billing info and cancel the account. I then stated I wanted a refund. She replied with a that is not possible but, I have deleted your billing info. She asked if I could bring in a letter to back up the cancel in person and I explained I do not live in the state any longer so no I would not be able to. She said ok at which point I asked for a call from the manager or owner. She said she would have them call me as soon as possible. I never recieved a call, and apparently my account was still not cancelled nor was my billing info deleted. Misrepresentation from the start. I would not normally make a big deal out of a thing like this but, I should not have to ask 3 times for an account to be cancelled. If I am told I will no longer be charged. I should not be charged. I finally called a third time, and the rep I spoke with stated my billing info was not deleted, and I finally got the truth that a letter is required to cancel. Had I been told this in August and even February I would have done that then. No one ever stated it was a requirement. I sent a letter certified mail asking them to please cancel the policy. I also requested a response within 24 hours from the manager or owner about the situation and requested a refund. I also stated I would contact BBB to make a complaint if the response wasnt recieved in 24 hours. I gave them 48 hours just to be a nice guy, and still no response. I will continue to make my voice heard to all who will listen about the poor training of the Planet Fitness staff on basic procedures, and the manager or owner who seems to only care that they are getting paid and not about the satisfaction of their current or former customers The only way to resolve this matter is: 1. Cancel the account as of August 2011 when I first requested the cancel. 2. Refund all payments August 2011-March 2012.3. A personal apology from the manager or owner.I will settle for nothing less after the experience I have had at the hands of Planet Fitness. I submitted this exact complaint to the Austin BBB.

I have been a member for a couple years now. The girls are very nice and friendly. There is a young dark hair girl there (kinda tall) that works very hard. I have seen her constantly doing SOMETHING whenever i go there (sometimes in mornings / sometimes in afternoons). she is either at the desk or out on the floor cleaning. SHE is the only one that I see constantly moving around/working. Recently, I have seen the young "trainer" guy at the front desk leaning on the counter, playing with this cell phone (many times), while the other girls are taking care of the 3 different customers at the front desk. He seems to be an okay guy, but struts an attitude. Dude, you arent THAT muscular....get a clue. I guess that is normal for a young college student? Besides that, the overall GYM is very good and always CLEAN ! They have MANY cardio machines (and TVs to watch) and there is rarely a "crowd", so you can easily work out with the free weights and machine weights. HOWEVER, they have fired off the LUNK ALARM (which means that someone is working out too "hard" ? I guess). they dont allow "big / muscular" guys in there working out and making too much noise (which I do understand), as its not that type of gym, HOWEVER, the LUNK ALARM has gone off numerous times over the last few years while I was working out and I nearly lost my grip on the weights (since the LUNK ALARM is so freaking LOUD, it scared the crap out of me). MEANING, when those KIDS turn on the LUNK ALARM to have "fun" or whatever.....that sets up PLANET FITNESS to be liable in case one of the free weights falls on the customer (as they are working out and gets scared, drops the weight onto their HEAD and gets injured). Again, College kids dont have a clue......but they are young, so I understand that ....we were all at that age, once. OVERALL, a VERY NICE place to work out, nice staff and many machines to use....and VERY CHEAP monthly cost (10 bucks / month).......well worth your time to go check it out !! (no contracts either) but, DONT FORGET about the LUNK ALARM......BE CAREFUL when you work out with free weights (flat bench or working your shoulders).....that ALARM will scare you to death..and you WILL drop the weight on yourself.

Have been a member since the gym opened, but have finally had enough of the nit picking rules!!! Such as, your water bottle is too big, your breathing too hard(not the yelling that we all know is over board), you cant have a gym bag with you, you cant use your phone even if it is where you log your work outs and have your training schedule located. Ridicules!!! So if you want someone all up in you insides while you are trying to work out then that is the place for you. Just make sure you bring a small water bottle that they approve of, only wear shoes that they like, dont lift anything that might get you out of breath, just lay your stuff all over the floor instead of in a gym bag(which they give you for signing up) and have a good work out.

I have had an account for over a year with them. Auto drafted out of my account. My husband has had one also drafted out of our account. We went to cancel our accounts today because we have not used them in some time. Well the Manager told us that my husband owed a bunch of money that it has not been auto drafted. I spoke to the Manager and he said he would not cancel the account even though it was not our fault. We never got an email, or phone call or a letter telling us there was an issue. The account was the same account as mine. The manager said these issues happen and they to many customers to keep up with and he was sorry there was nothing he can do. I dont mind paying what I owe. I do mind paying for someones elses mistakes.

Rude employees, and a very rude manager! Only one leg press machine, with a line of people waiting to use it, i made a suggestion to the management, that another leg press machine would be a great idea. She responded that i dont know the difference in leg machines, and they many other leg workout machines. That is BS and yes it is actually a free weight leg press, but mo one was in line gor the other leg equipment, because it sucks just like your customer service. I will pay more to go anywhere else!!! I feel like they want my money, and get out. I see that you get what you pay for. In my opinion Planet Fitness New Braunfels Sucks!!!! Months later and still sucks!
