To start this off let me say that the quality of work done by the painter was good. He arrived just over 30 minutes late on the first day of the job, I was given a 8-10am window and had been up since 7am so that I would be ready if “the crew” were to arrive at 8am. It was a work day and I had to take off to be home so would have appreciated knowing I had two and a half hours of free time and didn’t need to sit near the door or be awake that early for that matter. After greeting the painter, one painter for my 3 room job, he let me know he had been lost and would get his van and be started soon. My painter was not 100% on what he had to paint which means it wasnt communicated to him clearly from their team. I was in the living room for two hours before deciding to go and check on the progress in the room that was being painted when I realized that it only been taped off and covered up and one wall had primer on it. I went out to have lunch for about an hour or so got back and 3 walls had been primed and no progress on the other rooms. I was getting a little worried on how slowly the work was moving because I didn’t have anyone available to let someone in or lock up for another day if the work wasn’t completed that day and I had only been told it would be a one day job. I called to find out where the estimator and crew were since I still only had one guy doing all of the work and was told by Valerie (who answered the phone “hello” not DFW Painting or any kind of professional greeting) “Oh, you’re a groupon person so he’s the only person that will be working on it”. I was not aware that when DFW Painting decided to offer a groupon that they would label every customer they got who could potentially become clients in the future “groupon people” and that we would only get what they felt we deserved as a groupon person. So to end this the one guy did a great job but it took from 10:30-6:45ish one day and 9am-5ish the next to get a 10x12 bedroom about 5x5 bathroom and a rather small kitchen painted without getting any trim, baseboards or crown molding done. All I could gather from this was that they got my $200 for $500 worth of work Groupon and decided that they only wanted to use about $200 worth of effort to get the work done. Quality of work done:Good Quality of customer service: poor.

After agreeing to a quote for the entire house, top to bottom, we started off with a few rooms. The painting job done was excellent. Isaac never came by during the painting, nor did he come back for a walk through as he had promised. We figured it was no big deal since we were happy. However, after a couple of weeks we noticed the paint used did not have the qualities we asked for. Isaac blew off countless calls and emails from us, saying his boss was "hard to work for", and that the Sherwin Williams paint we asked for was "overpriced" and "not worth the money." By the time we had our documentation together to speak with his supervisor, we were informed he "was no longer with the company." I cant speculate as to why, but I have a good guess. Tom, another rep, was to rectify the problem we had, and brought in a crew to do some painting over the initial walls. While Toms communication was better, he was unable to solve the issue that was DFW Paintings in the first place. He did get the paint we asked for (in which we gladly paid the difference), but did not do enough research to see if it would blend with what they had already used. "Sorry" is all he could offer. His crew left, and when the paint dried we noticed one entire area was left, and there was quite a bit of paint on the boards around a door (completely different then our original experience). My wife called Tom (because he took a credit card number from us not realizing the co. didnt take AMEX, contrary to what says on the company description and forms of payment accepted), and let him know of the shabby touch up work that was done. He sheepishly replied, "Oh, sorry. Is there something you want me to do?" This company was suggested by our interior decorator. Weve informed her and anyone else we had initially raved to at first that this company doesnt stand by its promises on the website. Extremely poor conflict resolution skills. Thankfully we only had a small amount of the work done. Why, in this economy, someone would leave almost $5k of work on the table because of shoddy representation and handling is beyond me. Well be looking for someone else to finish the job.

We had a wonderful experience with DFW Painting! We decided to have the entire interior of our new house painted when we figured out that the former owners had smoked inside and the walls were covered in nicotine. Needless to say, we were extremely worried about finding the right products to use and someone we could trust to apply them to make sure the stains and smells did not come back through the new paint. To complicate the matter further, we also wanted wall paper removed in three bathrooms and the kitchen. Ken spent a lot of time with me the first day he came out to the house to fully understand our problems and make sure he addressed them in full. He was able to give me an estimate right there on the spot that was detailed and easy to understand. It covered everything we needed and there were no surprise costs or fees later on in the process. Ken recommended the perfect primer/sealer, which his team applied with care before painting to make sure the nicotine was gone for good. His team was also able to remove the wall paper and retextured the walls so that they look good as new and match the rest of the house perfectly. Ken even helped us pick out designer colors to use throughout the house and we could not be more pleased. We have received several compliments already. I think I was what you might call a "high-maintenance" client. I had all kinds of concerns and questions before during and after the 5 day job. Ken showed up at my house numerous times to make sure things were going well, keep me apprised of the progress and he always promptly responded to my emails and/or phone calls (no matter how trivial my question or concern). Overall, we received great service and a quality painting job at a very competitive price (based on the three bids we received before choosing DFW). We could not be more pleased and we will be calling them again when we decide to paint the exterior or when our daughter decides shes ready for a new color in her room!

My wife and I moved into a house that had wallpaper in the kitchen, entryway, and master/guest bathrooms. I tried to remove the wallpaper myself with the intention of texturing the walls and painting them afterwards. Needless to say this did not work out as I had hoped. We made the decision to hire a professional to at least remove the wallpaper and texture the walls. After getting a few bids, we decided that we would just have the walls painted at the same time. Val came to our home to give us an estimate. The estimate was actually itemized so that we could see how much each project in each room was going to cost us. I am not a professional but the price was not only fair, it was in the ballpark that I had in mind and had budgeted for. We even received a discount for telling him we found them on Google!. Once I told them that we had chosen them to do the work, they had us scheduled for the very next week to start the work. Val arrived on the first day, along with his crew, and went over everything with me before they started. When we were done, they got right to work. They were very respectful of our things and cleaned up as they worked. The whole job took 2.5 days. I was so tired of looking at half removed wallpaper that the speed at which they had it removed and the texture applied was mind blowing! Not only were they fast but they matched the texture in the other rooms in my house perfectly. Everything that I was promised by DFW Painting was delivered and in the time they quoted me. They crew was phenomenal in the quality of work. Even though its just paint, it was more than I could have asked for. We will definitely be using them again if we have another "unmanageable" project!
