I am not one to usually complain about things and certainly not one to ever write reviews, but I felt I should make an exception this time. I took my 2008 Kia Spectra in to this shop in April of 2013 because my transmission had been slipping and would violently jerk while driving it and then would get stuck in 3rd gear. I figured since this place was calling themselves specialists and since it had mostly good reviews I would give them a shot. I had previously gotten the codes read on my check engine light and it said it was shift solenoid issue. There were just two codes that came up so I thought it may not be that big of fix. $595 to drop the transmission means that even if you choose not to get the work performed by this company you still have to pay a pretty hefty fee. I was told once they dropped the transmission that I needed to get the entire thing rebuilt. I was quoted for $2600 to rebuild it and that was AFTER I paid the $595. I really had no choice to be agree because I had already sunk the $600 in it and I thought they knew best so, why not? It also came with a year warranty to bring it back at any time. A week later I was told that the car would be ready that Monday. Monday morning when I get there it turns out the car is NOT ready and I would have to wait another couple of days. When I finally got my car back I was told that it was running perfectly and shifting like new. Well I drove home, roughly 5-6 miles, and the next day it was doing the same thing as it did before I took it in. I took my car to the Kia dealership and they ran the codes and now instead of the original two, there were 7 codes. I called A+ up and the manager told me to bring it back in, and so I did. They kept my car for another week to make sure it was "fixed" and then called me to say it was. I picked it up and no, it was still jerking and not shifting. I was told that the computer must be messed up because it was absolutely not the transmission. The manager literally argued with me and anyone else I knew that tried to tell him otherwise and it finally took calling the corporate office to get him to run run a few more tests. 9 hours of sitting there later, turns out it WAS the tranmission. They keep my car for ANOTHER week, I get it back and it works for a day and then goes right back to how it was before. I have not taken my car back since then because if you are a specialist I should not have to keep coming in to get something fixed that should have been fixed the first time, especially after $3000 and a practically new transmission. A year and a half later my car is still messed up in the same way it has been since the very first time I took it in and now Im looking at dishing out more money to have it repaired again or cutting my losses and getting a different vehicle all together. I dont think good customer service involves arguing with your clients and then wanting to just send them home because you arent getting your way. Anyone who had a good experience here, consider yourself lucky because I, for one, was not.

I took my Acura Tl 2000, with very horrible slip and sifting issues, Mr. Byron Help me first who was very direct saying “We Got You Covered” and Mr. Red who is very Professional when we talk about Customer Service. It is a very busy shop, there are plenty of cars that need service; the quote was $ 3,700.00 to rebuild my transmission this includes: Solenoids, Rebuilt Kit and 3 year or 36,000 Miles of Warranty whichever comes first. They do offer finance to pay the service; it took approximately 2 weeks to complete the Job, when I picked up the car the transmission had the Same Solenoids on it (really bad), but Mr. Red took care and they replaced with the new ones the good part is that are OEM not aftermarket which is very good, I have 3 moths driving the car from 1st to 5th works fine very smooth shifting the car rides very comfortable. This is an updated regarding my TL 2000 Transmission (after 6000 miles ) I took the car to the shop because i felt a "hit" on my transmission, I took 2 days at the shop, based on my daily driving experience, my car now shift better and you can fell a stronger transmission when you go up on a ramp, they stated that there is no mechanical issue with my car, i believe they did adjustment to the electronics, all this was done under the warranty. As always Mr. Red provided and outstanding service and one of his mechanics (Hispanic gentlemen, I dont know his name) provided an outstanding service as well! Now i am very pleased with the service, this is a place where you can rely, specially if your vehicle is Acura or Honda they know the job. new update after a week transmission response is perfect and every shift is smooth New Update after 8 Months My transmission required a Fluid services based on their technical advice drain and refill every 12,000.00 Miles, they use a Synthetic Fluid(NOT Honda/Acura ATF DW-1 OEM Recommended), it cost 39.99, I asked if they will replace the external filter they say yes, unfortunately i check my car at home and it still has THE SAME OLD FILTER. they are very friendly but these small details really matters and make me feel very uncomfortable. it is the same mistake when they charge me for all new solenoid and did not changed, they did change it after i noticed that they installed the old ones. New Update 4/18/2017 The Transmission came with the same Shudder Problem now it is worst, when a go from Park to Drive the transmission makes a metal noise, I spoke with Mr. Red and asked to drive the car to his shop. Now i feel very frustrated because I paid almost 4,000.00 to fix this transmission and wont last it is less than 13,000 miles now i feel that the saw my face. this is very sad.

Brought my truck to A+ for a problem with the clutch. I was quoted best case scenario $650 and worst case $900 {if they had to replace every component having to do with the clutch. =/ They informed me of a $100 off coupon available online. With the coupon that makes the estimated worst case scenario $800.. thats about the same amount I was quoted from a national chain. Our thinking was that A+ specialized in this type of work and the cost was roughly the same ... why not get the experts to do it. The gentleman in the office was pleasant and seemed very knowledgeable.. perhaps a bit rushed. He did forget to send us the authorization form to work on the vehicle .. which held up the job. They dropped us off to pick up a rental car that was NOT really available.. AND ... when he got back to us to inform us of the necessary repairs, the worst case scenario repair cost {which it allegedly needed} had risen to nearly $1600! Thats almost DOUBLE the original quote! He said he was so sorry... he should have looked up the actual prices for our vehicle. WTH!? ~ I thought that was how estimates were calculated to begin with! Of course now our vehicle is taken apart and they have a $595 charge for that =( Felt like they had us trapped. I felt sick to my stomach... cant trust anyone. Though apologetic... the most he offered to do was give us an extra $50 off for the coupon. I really think they should have stuck to the original quote or offered to put it back together {without charge} and allowed us to go elsewhere. In the end we paid $1320... plus the cost of a rental car ... and they took 1/2 day longer than estimated... the time is forgivable the $$$$ are NOT! A+ Transmission should have completed the job for the price quoted. After all the majority of the cost was for labor not parts... Jacking up the price like that is totally unprofessional and seemingly shady. If Id read the previous negative reviews ... I would NOT have used this business. A+ Transmission invited us to write them a review ... offering a free oil change OR our choice of $25 gift cards. Little consolation, I know. Wonder if theyll follow through with that? =/ Advice to others... DONT GO THERE!!!
