I spent the last 6 years training with Rodrigo and all the team there and with minimal exposure to any BJJ atmosphere outside of Rodrigos I had little idea of what how it compared to other gyms. Ive recently moved to the northeast and after trying out other gyms (that are actually pretty decent), I now realize how amazing of a gym RPBJJ really is. Completely aside from its high level, top notch technique, the gym has an extremely tight knit community filled with TONS of individuals who genuinely care about everyone else there. Most of his students I assume might attend for this reason, but very few of them are truly aware of how high level and highly respected he is in the BJJ competition scene in Brazil. Being the humble character that he is, it appeared hed rather just show them instead. Even while teaching full time, he sets the example by still continuing to actively compete and win at the highest level all across thew world. In BJJ, I quickly realized there are black belts; then there are black belts. All in all, whether youre a full time competitor or weekend warrior, RPBJJ is truly a family that will take anybody in and its really rare to find another gym that would even compare.

I am beyond impressed with the Kids Bullyproof BJJ program at RPBJJ! Not only does the program help bolster the childrens confidence, it also teaches them to be more disciplined and respectful. Rodrigo Pinheiro, himself, teaches each of the kids classes, and he is excellent with his students. Rodrigo makes BJJ fun for the kids. He teaches valuable self-defense techniques in a playful manner so that the children stay interested and engaged. At RPBJJ, the kids are also taught to perform well outside of the dojo. Rodrigo puts great emphasis on respecting parents and doing well in school. The students are even given weekly point sheets to track their progress outside of the gym. Furthermore, the facility is VERY clean and nice. The mats are regularly sanitized by Syndicate Med. The staff is super friendly and professional. I LOVE this gym and would recommend it to any parent!

I have been training at Rodrigo Pinheiro BJJ for about 6 months and it has changed my life for the best. I did tons of research on different BJJ schools in San Antonio and when I came across Rodrigo Pinheiro BJJ and read all of Rodrigos accomplishments it just made it an easy decision for me to join. From day one Rodrigo and his students made me feel like family and welcomed. There are no egos and every student there no matter their skill level truly is passionate about learning and passing their knowledge to others. If you really want to learn and get in great shape then Rodrigo Pinheiro BJJ is the place to be. Trust me you will have to earn every stripe and belt. Being a part of this team/family will give you a great self-sense of pride, honor, and respect that will carry on.

Ive trained Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu all over the world, and Rodrigo Pinheiro is by far the best professor Ive ever had the privilege of training under. I instantly felt right at home, and the camaraderie and attention to detail are unmatched. Professor Rodrigo challenges his students every day but never pushes them to the breaking point. It is a very family friendly gym, and both my wife and my oldest child train and they love it! With two locations in SA and more in the surrounding areas, the value of training here is even more incredible. Each gym offers world-class BJJ, Muay Thai (taught by UFC legend Pete "The Secret Weapon" Spratt), and MMA in friendly, safe environments. I feel very fortunate to have found RPBJJ, and look forward to many more years of training with my family.

I started training under Rodrigo Pinheiro about three years ago and have realized that everyone should train jiu jitsu. The gentle art has a way of teaching a person about oneself like no other martial art or sport I have experienced, and if you are going to train jiu jitsu might as well train with the best. I came from another Jiu-Jitsu school originally, my previous instructor was on good terms with Rodrigo Pinheiro. Rodrigo would referee tournaments and hold seminars. That was my first exposure to Rodrigo Pinheiro. Upon my wife receiving a new job in San Antonio, we localized our housing search to be within close driving distance to the dojo. It was clear early on that this place was different, taught by someone who has lived and breathed Jiu-jitsu and Judo. Ive trained with RP for 8 months and I am very excited with my progress. Rodrigo is great at explaining techniques and pointing out common mistakes before you make them. His advanced students all have a solid foundation and Rodrigo encourages everyone to explore the style that fits their own body type and athletic ability so you end up with several people you can learn from in every class. Rodrigo Pinheiro BJJ is the best place in San Antonio to train. Not only is the instruction top notch but it is a great environment. Everybody is friendly and willing to help each other advance their Jiu Jitsu. This establishment is also very military friendly. Being in the armed forces myself I have had many obstacles to my training like deployments but Rodrigo has been most understanding and helpful. Everybody is familiy here and RPBJJ will make you fell like you have a second home.

I have been going here for six months now. Both Rodrigo and the other students have been very welcoming and forthcoming with knowledge and training tips. When sparring with more advanced students, they take it easy and give just the right amount of resistance to keep it challenging. Rodrigo is an amazing teacher. His assistants are also very good. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
