Today was my first time in The Barbecue Station and it was delicious. The sausage had just a little bit of heat to it and the perfect amount of smoke flavor. The sauce is a little thin, but it has a great flavor that is not too sweet and not all vinegary. On top of the quality of the food, the service was excellent too. I will definitely be going back to the place. Update: I took the wife with me this time and tried all new stuff. The beef ribs are well seasoned and have just the right amount of bark without drying them out. The "Spicy Mustard" sauce is not as thin as the regular sauce and had just a touch of heat that is balanced with just a hint of sweet. The potato salad is mashed. Even though it wasnt what I expected, it was delicious. The right amount of pickle to make the taste what was expected. Even though it wasnt overly yellow in color, Im betting there was some mustard in there too. The clincher was the warm fresh peach cobbler. My wife liked it so much I didnt even get a taste. Needless to say she loved it. Im bumping my rating up after another wonderful service experience and food quality & flavor that is second to none. To top it off, the price was reasonable and not overpriced like so many others in the area.

Ive tried a lot of the places around town including Augies, Two Bros, Rudys, Bun n Barrel. This is my favorite with Rudys a close second. Let me tell you why: The meat. This meat is no-doubt-about-it smoked to perfection in oak and mesquite. The brisket is moist and delicious. A touch less fat than Id like but I think most people like it leaner than me anyway. The pork loin is also moist which is not easy to do with a lean center cut loin like that. It takes the sauce well. And let me tell you the best part: *BEEF RIBS*. I admit that Ive taken people there that were unimpressed. The sauce is not very thick. The sides, well the beans and the cole slaw taste fine to me. I can vouch for the Iced tea: its nice. The lemonade is instant, plentiful, and delicious. But I dont got there for cole slaw and lemonade. I cannot tell you how the potato salad compares to others because I just grab some beans and cole slaw to keep me healthy and sit down to a fine meal of pork and beef. Let me repeat this: No-doubt-about-it smoked to perfection in oak and mesquite. Never dry. Brisket lean enough to eat every day. Pork loin. Pork ribs. Dont miss the *Beef Ribs*

Came in around 8pm on Wednesday night, Veterans day. The venue had a outdoor wooden BBQ interior. There were some people, but it was pretty quiet for the most part. It was my first time at this place, so I asked the lady at the counter what to order. She was nice and recommended the brisket and pork ribs. I asked to try a piece and the brisket had some fat in it which made it really good. I decided to get a brisket and pork ribs along with some cuttings of turkey breasts. I got green bean and potato salad sides. My friend got the same thing. The brisket had some fat in it so it tasted heavenly. The way a brisket should taste. No sauce needed. The pork ribs were delicious too. The turkey breast has less taste than the brisket and pork ribs, but was good for turkey breast. I really liked the food here and didnt really have to use the bbq sauce. I would rank this place high on my list for good Texas bbq places, definitely check it out if you are in San Antonio.

Strengths: BBQ is an American past time for many people. Although the menu is varied and tailored to both adult and children portions, the beef BBQ ribs, sausage, pinto beans and potato sald are what captured my taste buds. The secret BBQ sauce made an even more tastier meal. The hype is real! Also, the staff is friendly and approachable too. Additionally, live folk music helped ease the moment. Opportunities: Although the restaurant is built on a retired old gas station build and made an interesting site with its patina, the walls and the restroom really told the tale to me. Lots of grease buildup along the walls and vents. The restroom was old fasions with poor plumbing, which required multiple flushing for waste to go down. Because of this, I could not give the facilities a all-around perfect rating. However, the delicious food and the friendly staff will bring me back, for sure. I will try to avoid the restroom next time.

My favorite barbecue place in San antonio. The chicken is amazing. I always get their brisket marbled as shown in the picture. More flavor and moist. The beef ribs (which arr difficult to find at other BBQ restaurants) are great as well as the pork ribs. The sausage is very good too. The sides are great but the one side that stands out is the amazing jalapeño mac and cheese. Ive tried The Big bib, Rudys, Gradys, Two Brothers and countless others but The Barbecue Station is my favorite. Never disappoints. The plates are reasonably priced with 2 sides, Rudys gor example sells by the pound and a la cart which cost a small fortune. Not with BBQ station, great prices with way better BBQ than Rudys. If you havent been here before, stop what youre doing, get in your car and drive here as soon as possible. You wont be disappointed.

Im a self proclaimed grill master and have perfected both the brisket and the ribs. I have also eaten at most BBQ joints across Texas and believe I have found the best of the best here at the Barbecue Station in San Antonio. It had the right amount of seasoning and smoke. The seasoning made it special. You have got to try their lean cut brisket plate. I give it 5 stars. The only thing that wont impress you, in my opinion, is the potato salad. I like a chunky mustard potato salad and they serve some sort of thin soupy potato salad. I thought it was mashed potatoes at first, BUT you have got to try the lean brisket. Like I stated, It is the best in Texas.

Went there for the first time with my visiting family from outside the states. It was an early Thursday night. The food was OK. What turned me off the most was the cashier lady who also took care of the tables. When she was at the register she was touching money and handing out the orders(put a bread in my tray) without wearing gloves. Then I saw her clearing the tables. When she emptied the trays in the trash bin next to our table, she pushed the garbage down with the trays and the cloth she was using to wipe the tables. I wish I saw that before I ate my food. So unsanitary!

The food is really good there...the only problem is every time we go and its around dinner time or lunch..the time we have gone they are always out of bbq chicken. We have been there 4 times in the last few months and they are out of chicken . Now if your chicken is that good ...wouldnt you think you need to have more. We have just turned around and just walked out.It is a great place to eat but the problem is your out of chicken and i hope you start making more to last dinner crowds. We plan to try it again soon...but if you are out then i guess it back another bbq place.
