OMG, Im so out of shape is going the be the first thing that runs through your mind in the first 15 minutes of class even if you look like youre in shape youre gonna be thinking the same thing. Everybody sweats, everybody huffs, everybody is at different fitness levels and no one looks the same but we all have one goal and that is to keep moving. Moving to be better, healthier, or maybe we just like hitting and kicking things but apparently hitting and kicking other people is frown upon in society so why not take it out on a bag. Yes, its on the expensive side but lets be honest..what were you gonna use that money for -- fast-food? alcohol? Yeah, Im looking at you. Sorry, there was a mirror in front of me, but I digress. This is an investment in you! Your priorities have to shift and you get to refocus on more important things -- you! The SA ILKB gyms are like a family. You have your family unit and if you cant make it to a class as a member you can visit other locations kinda like visiting your cousins you havent seen in a while. Its a lil awkward at first but then people start acting like they like you and become supportive. My home family is Alamo Ranch. They are 30 minutes from where I live and work yet I go because of the bond Ive formed with the instructors. Two of whom arent with the company any more which really makes me sad but moving on -- David, Adam, and Laura Ann are amazing and are always ready to give you tips based on their personal experience in everything from exercises, positions, hitting, kicking, meal planning, etc. If youre not ready to invest in yourself and youre not ready to think Im worth it #FifthHarmony then you should still try it out to find out that you are worth it. So what are you waiting for?

I received a promo flyer in the mail and with the promo price I thought "Why not!?" I am always up for something new and cross-training is so important...not to mention I HATE standard cardio and welcome ANY other option. I was called to schedule my first class and from the moment I walked in the door I received superior service and attention. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable. The workout starts with HIIT that is not only different but killer every class, then stretching and bag rounds. Each workout ends with partner glove drills and cooperative conditioning which gives you a great opportunity to meet your classmates! Its a tough workout especially when you put in the effort. Even once you think you are getting "good" the instructors are quick to push you and progress movements and combinations to give a good challenge. I saw the value in the class right away and became a member and have yet to regret that decision. Consistently going 3x a week for a couple of months now Im down 10 pounds (all I had to lose) and have toned and shaped my legs, shoulders and arms. Best of all I have a 6-pack!!! Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I was entice to join I Love Kick Boxing by a Groupon that was offered for new members. I figured I would give it a try. It took 2 weeks to schedule an appointment and the person I talked to asked me to be there 15 minutes in advance prior to my appointment, for an orientation. The 2 weeks didnt really bother me, it was the events that followed that ruined the experience. The day of my appointment I showed up 15 in advance, as requested, and I was turned away because the lady there said I needed to be there 30 min in advance. I explained the information I was given when I made the appointment, but she said there wasnt anything she could do about it and that she had to reschedule me. I asked if she could go through the orientation with me and I would just be a little late for todays session, but she wouldnt compromise on a mistake that they made. Her answer was that she wanted me to get the "full experience". The only experience I received was a bad one and I cancelled the rest of my appointments and my Groupon. Note: When you schedule your first appointment, be there 30 min in advance, even if they tell you 15 mins.

Military beware! This place is not military friendly, if I could give them zero stars I would. I was stationed in San Antonio and traveled a lot for my job so I purchased the class card instead of the monthly membership. When I recently received unexpected orders they would not refund the remaining balance of the class card because it "lasts forever". I moved to Orange County California, there are no studios nearby and its not reasonable for them to think Ill maintain this affiliation after I move again-what if I go overseas? They said if id chosen the monthly membership theyd have been happy to cancel but since I purchased the class card I have no option to recoup my money. So again, if you are military, stay away!!!

This place is so amazing! I bought the Groupon and ended up joining after my first class. The instructors are all so friendly and motivational. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or advanced they walk you through it step by step and challenge you! If you are looking for a great workout this is the place. From the first 15 min of exercises to one-on-one with the bag it is guaranteed you will break a sweat. You feel every part of your body work and it’s so much fun! Would recommend to this to anyone looking to have fun and have an amazing workout!

If you are looking for a real workout, this is the place! Lots of burpees, pushups, squats and lunges for the warm up. Then it’s time to put on your gloves and throw some punches and kicks. They finish the one hour class off with something different every time. The instructors mix it up so the workouts aren’t the same boring routine every time. You know it’s a great workout when your shirt is sweat soaked and your muscles are sore. The instructors at Alamo Ranch are high energy and very encouraging. What are you waiting for?

Love this place!! ‘I Love Kickboxing’ was exactly what I needed to mix it up and take my workout to a new, and much needed direction. My wife signed us up with the promo package, which included free gloves and 3 classes. I didn’t think I had the coordination or agility for this type of activity. Wrong… we signed up after the second class and couldn’t be happier. Alamo Ranch has a staff of fantastic instructors who are fun, high energy and provide perfect direction and encouraging coaching tips.

ILKB Alamo Ranch is simply awesome. Working out on my own just doesn’t work for me. Their kickboxing classes are almost like having your own personal trainer every time. After just a few weeks, I’m already seeing results and I hate to miss a class! The trainers and everyone else there are so much fun to work out with and the FB group is a great extension of that also… I love the daily tips and encouragement you get in class and online.
