Dont waste your time or money. UPDATE: my review just went down to a 1 star. I just got my hair cut at an AMAZING place called Monroes down town san marcos, ask 4 Chealsea. They did a fantastic job.... if u want a grear hair cut for the same price as ULTA, go to Monroes! They also informed me that my hair was STILL CROOKED from my last haircut(which was at San Marcos ulta..... the second hair cut that they "fixed" for me) DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE! UNLESS YOU WANT A BAD HAIR CUT.. I am very upset with this ulta... I am a very loyal customer, when I find a good hair stylist, I stick with them. Ive traveled over 2 hours for my appointments to see one that I liked until they no longer were in the practice, they moved or they did me wrong. That being said... ulta just lost a loyal customer. I came to the ulta salon in San Marcos, set up an apt, specifically told the girl on the phone that I am very picky with who cuts my hair because I have had hair stylists butcher my hair, please give me someone good. So she set me up an appt. When I showed up, i got my hair washed and talked to the girl, she talked all big like she had been doing hair for years. But then...she said something that was kind of questionable, so I asked her...how long have you been cutting hair for?.... (at this point she had me in the chair and she already cut a piece of my hair...) she hesitates then tells me "this is my first week, I just graduated" I am LIVID... and panicking. I stop talking to her and let her finish. She doesnt show me my hair and never asks me "how does it look" she just basically says your done, never even hands me a mirror to check it out. At this point, I just want to get home, she spent FOREVER on my hair. So I left and tipped her... when I get home, my husband looks at my hair and says..... "baby....your hair is not cut right, you need to go back" Me and my husband travel all the way to San Marcos from Luling, and I ask for a manager. Shes very nice, and offers to fix it. okay great! But never offers me a refund... She says "We will cut is again for free..." (UMM.... YOU BETTER CUT IT FOR FREE! YOURE FREAKIN EMPLOYEE SCREWED IT UP, THERES NO WAY IM PAYING FOR ANOTHER HAIR CUT SO YALL CAN FIT YALLS MISTAKE) They cant fit me in till the end of the week. (I leave on my 1st anniversary cruise that day, so now I have messed up hair for my 1 year anniversary) I come back next week and a girl named Veronica cuts my hair.. first thing Veronica says is "oh....wow...." Im like "What?!?" She then proceeds to tell me.... "umm.... your hair is crooked... its like an inch off on one side." So she talks me through it and explains what shes doing as she cuts.. (Veronica takes her time and does a good job, I like my hair-so of course I tip her, she did a great job and it wasnt her fault that other girl mess up my hair) When I bring my "receipt" to the front showing a "free" haircut...she asks me if I want to tip my hairstylist. Wow.... youre telling me that now you want me to pay even more for a haircut. (yes, I did tip, but thats not the point, I dont mind tipping, what I do mind is she expected me to pay more for a job that wasnt done right the first time, she could have just told me that the original money is going to go to tip Veronica, I would have been happy about that) I just told her I already did tip her. Anyways.... I called to set up another appointment with Veronica and they tell me that she is no longer in practice, shes in the skin care department. So I tell them "darn, I really wanted her, last time I came there I had a VERY bad experience" What does the girl say? Not a ""what happened, maybe we can find you someone to you liking" instead I got "Im so sorry to hear that" and nothing more to try to help a customer. Just waiting for me to get off the phone. The only reason why I didnt give a 1 star is because of Veronica. Ladies...bottom line is if you care about your hair, please find another Ulta, or another salon.

I dont usually leave reviews but when you stuck with a bad haircut multiple occasions its not easy to let go. I went here before I learned that mainly new hair trainees or older hairstylist just looking to go back to work usually work for franchise salons therefore they were some of my more unsatisfied haircuts Ive had. Not to mention I could never keep someone I liked because people were always leaving. My recommendation is find a salon locally owned so thats not an issue and not to mention the owner of a hair salon spends a lot of time in training in learning the skill so you will less likely be disappointed with the results. I get my hair cut by the owner at The Fixx in NB.

I went in to donate my hair to Locks of Love (Ulta waives the price of the hair cut if youre donating!). This was my first time using the salon at this location, and I had a wonderful experience. There was an appointment mix-up which caused my slot to be double booked, but I was a little early and the other person was running late, so Katherine quickly, efficiently, and enthusiastically chopped 11 inches of my hair off! Ive done this a couple times already, but it was her first time seeing the severed donation ponytail (she was super cute and funny about it). Thanks for the lovely experience!

Customer service is always terrible. Asked for help and was given blank stares because their prestige beauty consultants clearly dont know what theyre doing (excluding one girl who I wish I had gotten her name). Finally ready to check out and was pulling out my ultra rewards card from my purse, was asked 3 times for my phone number but the card is linked to an old number that I do not remember, there were two registers and I was the only person in line and was still asked to hurry or move to a different register. Will NEVER spend money at this ulta, or any other location again.

Horrible customer service. I came in with two simple Bare Mineral compacts to return which fell into the Ulta return policy but ....instead of just doing a simple exchange the manager strolls over to help the new girl and says "our computers cant process an exchange unless its on your rewards card" the Ulta policy states a merch credit will be given. She blantently lied because she was and is too lazy to process an exchange. I know this store was a poorly performing store compared to the Austin locations but wow.

I went the this Ulta for a hair appointment and the stylist was rude and late. I left 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment, still with no explanation or recognition of her tardiness. The manager offered me a discount, but why would I want someone like that to cut my hair? Stay away and go to a locally owned salon.

Always clean and staff is always helpful. But they are also always out of stock! Honestly, 25% of the items on my shopping list, especially Nyx and Urban Decay, end up being sold out. Its like they dont like money or something. Someone ought to step up their ordering and stocking.
