I had so many issues theyre hard to count. Here are the concerns and issues I dealt with and here are the responses and excuses I got from the owner of the school: 1. The teachers didnt know where my child was when I would come to pick her up day after day. Owners Explanation: "Well they found her didnt they? Its not like she was outside in the street. They ended up finding her so its fine." 2. The phone were down all day due to power outage, and no one notified any parents. I was trying to call and was unable to. Owners Explanation: "She was fine though. Its not like she was in danger even though you couldnt get through to the school." 3. The director calls kids "retarded" and "slow". Owners Explanation: "Oh, I dont think she would say things like that.. is your daughter sure thats what she heard? Maybe she misheard her." 4. Teachers make political and racist comments around the kids. Owners Explanation: "Haha, well we do have some opinionated teachers here." 5. Teachers tell kids that they better be telling the truth or theyll find out by watching "the cameras". Owners Explanation: No explanation. 6. A teacher accused my daughter of lying about taking a vision test when the school was so disorganized that they didnt even know if she took the test or not. *She didnt btw.* Owners Explanation: "Maybe your daughter was confused if she took the test or not. Are you sure she isnt mistaken? Youre making a big deal out of nothing. If you believed your daughter didnt take it, why did you even ask the teachers?" 7. Owner refuses to manage or counsel staff about any issues. Owners Explanation: "I dont make my staff apologize. Thats a feeling they have to have on their own and decide if they want to say sorry to a student or a parent." 8. After bringing concerns and questions to the owner after being unable to have any kind of conversation with staff because theyre so uncomfortable and socially awkward around adults, she threatened to kick my daughter out of the school. When I brought this list of concerns to her (and it wasnt the first time Id had issues or talked to her about these issues) and I was admittedly frustrated in doing so. I told her its my job to be a parent, its not my job to make sure her staff feels warm and fuzzy regardless of the seriousness of the situation. If my daughter is in unsafe situation, Im going to ask a teacher what is going on. Im going to confront them about it and give them a chance to explain, when they cant, Ill talk to the director, and up to the owner until I get an explanation, apology or whatever is appropriate for the situation. They want to avoid any responsibility for their own mistakes. The teachers can do no wrong, while the young kindergarten children are the ones blamed for a disorganized and chaotic school with extremely high turnover. Its obvious the problems are internal, but they insist on pushing blame onto my parenting/communication or my daughters interpretation of the truth. We strive ourselves in being honest and up front with others. The school does not do well with people like this. If you go here, you better hope nothing happens that you dont agree with or like because you CANNOT bring it up without being berated for feeling anything other than perfectly satisfied. If you do come to them with concerns, theyll threaten to kick your kid out in the middle of the school year and say horribly nasty things about your parenting abilities and character.

Both of my sons attend Learning Tree at the 4540 S 900 E location. I am very happy with the care my children receive at Learning Tree. They have been attending since 2014 and continue to attend. I like Learning Tree because the staff is interested in having meaningful interactions with my children as well as genuine in their concern for the well being of my kids. The staff is always supportive of the development goals we are working on at home and do very well maintaining consistency between home and school environments. From and educational stand point I believe both my boys have benefited greatly from the scholastic aspects of the Learning Tree program. The curriculum is designed by actual educators and is tailored to properly prepare children for the transition to the public school system. For instance, my 4 year old is beginning to read, can write, and has solid communication skills that will serve him well in his early educational years. Being involved in local charity work centered around early childhood development I can definitely say the Learning Tree is setting my children up for success, but its important to understand that success pivots on the level of involvement of the PARENTS in their childrens education. There is no "silver bullet" school that will teach kids everything and fully release parents from that responsibility. Many negative reviews on here seem to misunderstand that point. Additionally my wife and I take advantage of their direct withdrawal system to manage our weekly payments. Not having to remember to take a check is awesome. While Im talking about logistics I want to mention that Learning Tree is very flexible with schedules and timing. My wife and I enrolled our oldest son in Learning Tree to add a social aspect to his early life development that could not be provided at home, and as a result wanted him to attend less than full time. The director (Heather, I believe) was able to provide a half day option for us that perfectly met our need while allowed adequate time with mommy each day. As a result our youngest has begun attending in the same manner with great results. Learning to share and learning that authority comes from people other than a childs parents are important lessons that are well taught at Learning Tree. Overall i would recommend Learning Tree to any and all family and friends that take the time to have children. Theyre great, they care about the kids, and their teaching staff loves doing what they do, which is very important. Ill end with difficult children represent a lack of parent involvement and are never the result of their school, remember that as you read reviews.

Im surprised the ratings are so low for Learning Tree East. My daughter is just about 4 years old. She has been at Learning Tree East since she was 7 months old. I think the staff and the teachers are doing a fantastic job. This daycare is partnered with Granite school district. Their preschool curriculum and student process is closely monitored by learning tree and the Granite school district. My daughter is learning her letters, numbers, writing stokes, how to write her name, how to write the numbers and letters. She is read to daily. She is tested 2-3 times a year to ensure that she is learning the things she need to learn in order to be ready for Kindergarten. Learning Tree East is always clean. When my daughter was in the infant room, I got a detailed report of what she ate, how much, how much she slept, and what she did in the day. When she was in the two year old class I got reports of how her potty training progress was going. I was told if she had an accident and when she had an accident. In all the classes if a she involved in an accident, say she fell down and hurt herself, I would get an accident report. The staff is consistent. My daughter knows her teachers and the teachers in the other classes. They play area outside if big, fenced, and private. There is separate play areas for the infants, 2 year old, 3-5 year old children. I feel fortunate to have my daughter enrolled at Learning Tree East.
